Chester was a legend, and always will be. He unfortunately did by suicide on July 20, 2017. He suffered GREATLY from depression and many other tragic events during his childhood... Man we miss him and the world lost a true legend. #makechesterproud
@@JohnWarner-lu8rq hahahaha have you tried comedy with your jokes? Please tell me it was a joke? You can't be serious because there's no way you can use the Internet and have this much brain damage.
First listen to them in the Army in 2003, was one of my favorite bands. I actually cried when I heard about Chesters death. He'll always be the one that could sing like an angel and scream like a demon.
*When you listen to any Linkin Park song, you'll hear Chester literally screaming for help. Back in the day there was such a connection because the things he sang about was like "Yes! Someone gets it!" It's things we've all felt before. But when I hear it now, it wasn't Chester singing about feelings from once upon a time. He's singing about what he was feeling every second of every day. It's heartbreaking.*
I don't need to cry today, my man. Waiting for the End from A Thousand Suns is one that I will belt out to. You could see his pain in the lyrics, while being absolutely gorgeous. Edit; Chester, Chris Cornell, and Anthony Bourdain all died by suicide that year. It hit a lot of us incredibly hard.
Waiting for the End is my favorite song!! It came out just as my marriage was ending and I remember the first time I heard it, as soon as I heard the words “the hardest part of ending, is starting again” I burst into tears. Not beach use I was sad, but because those are the words that I was searching myself for. That song truly helped me get through!!🤘
The group that got together wanted to mesh many different styles. They were signed, but couldn’t find the right vocalist. Then their manager set up auditions and Chester sang, and history was made. He was shared or main vocalist with Mike, who mostly did rap. Chester joined a few other bands whose singer’s left or passed. He sadly ended his own life in 2017. That is why he isn’t on the ‘current band members’ list. His voice was, in many people’s eyes, the reason the band rocketed to fame. They were also as good live or better than on their records which really pushed their concerts to huge proportions.
The amazing thing is, with all that Chester put into this song, during their live performances, this song was usually played towards the beginning of their set.
Man, watching this just made my night. Thank you so much 🥰 Watching others encounter amazing music that I love is almost as good as hearing it for the first time myself
He had talent and knew how to take care of his vocal cords. Not everyone knows how and even if they do, they do not all have the talent to know how to implement it well. I assume that Chester was naturally talented and practiced it a lot to make sure he did not hurt himself. Talent... Pure talent.
They have a ton of monster hits. Numb, Great Divide (Transformers), Somewhere I Belong, Crawling, One Step Closer, and so many more. Just about every song on every album is a smash hit. You could literally go through each album.
✨don’t feel bad about appreciating and loving the song…or any other song…no matter the subject matter. Yes, it’s especially impactful and hit’s different knowing his fate…but the fact that their music helped (and still helps) SOOOOOOOOO many people (including myself) to know they aren’t alone in their feelings, makes every one of us lucky to have what Chester and the band left us with. Also, Mike Shinoda was the lead song writer for most of their songs, but each song always had major input from every single member of the band. They’ve said before that each song might be interpreted differently and have different meaning to each member of the band, as well as the public…and that’s what they had hoped for. But Chester would pour his heart into every song, and those emotions absolutely showed. He had a very very difficult upbringing and battled most of his life with mental health. He bared his soul and helped so many! The whole band is incredibly gifted, and talented…and i guarantee you’ll enjoy the journey through their music!! If I could suggest a song, I’d say listen to their song ✨“Waiting for the End”✨It’s one of my favorites. It’s definitely a song that can be interpreted in many ways, and it happened to be released at a very difficult time in my life. I remember the first time I heard it I burst into tears. Not because I was happy or sad necessarily, but because it said the words I could not find for myself. It helped me so much at that time and still does today! My 14 yr old daughter also loves it :) Anyway, sorry for the run on sentences🙃 I love how you appreciate music and HEAR it!! And I love watching your journey!!! Enjoy and be well!!🤘🤘🤘
Another amazing reaction!! He was an amazing artist, that we lost far too soon. The lyrics are on the same level as Layne Staley...dark, self-deprecating and very emotional. There are two songs that I really think you should check out, Somewhere I Belong and Lying From You. Very powerful...see what you think.
So true. I went to school with Layne, from 7th-10th grade. He was so quiet...but, even then, you could see that he had different ideas, than the rest of us. He was special.
I remember when I listened to this on my iPod video and I decided to count the seconds of that scream. It was 17 seconds. If you didn't know, Mike Shinoda has his own band called Fort Minor. I recommend from that band the song Kenji, which tells what Mike's Japanese American family endured in WWII. Also, Red To Black is HELLA good.
Yeah, definitely a pretty serious disease, and he’d been singing about it for decades. Most of Linkin Park is really hard for a lot of people to listen to, but for a lot of others, it’s such a cathartic release to relate to them. They’ve saved so many lives, helping people feel less alone. There used to be stigma about enjoying them. It made fans seem edgy and targets for bullying, because “somebody has it harder.” It took a long time for personal feelings to be considered valid and acceptable as part of a normal human being.
You should definitely checkout linkin park’s latest release. It’s a unreleased track called lost from their debut album meteora which was like a tribute to Chester
It's understandable really if you consider the concept of the song. The instrumentals are solid and vocals are even better. And yes they did worldwide tours and even performed in front of over a million people. Best performance of this song live is probably during their live concert in Columbia and but I haven't found a clear video of it on yt
The song after this on the album is quite soft and peaceful, it's like this song is you crashing through the ceiling, and the next song is landing on a pillow fort. [Solo]
love this song MOB!! some other good ones are “Trust Me-Janis Joplin”, “She’s Gone-Hall & Oates”, Inside Looking Out-Grand Funk Railroad & “I Need a Man to Love also by Janis”.
A two octave 17 min fry scream, but didn’t always preform the 17 min scream. Generally two, back to back, 2 different octaves. One of the best vocalists & frontman of all time. ❤ RIP Cheater Still listening 8.21.24

Every music reactor I follow has done 1 of 3 songs basically! They have done Creep by Radiohead. They have done Du Hast by Rammstein. Or they have done a Linkin Park song! You, good sir, have done 2 of those so far! Awesome man! Also love the moment where you realized, "Oh damn!" After the scream! Love it!
Most of Chester's lyrics are depressing and tough to listen to after he passed. It's like he's been saying it all along. You just assume most singers lyrics are just for music making, but his seemed more personal.
serious disease is the right acronym, he offed himslef after decades of serious depression and trauma. Lyrics are absolutely heart wrenching, but they are what people much older and younger than him have been trough.

WOW. Vocal God??? He is a nice singer but on the international stage would not even qualify as above average. 😢 Tatiana of Jinjer has a growl that would blow him out of the water. She is the Queen of Growl. He can sing in 7 octaves, all genres, and 14 languages. His first album went platinum in 37 seconds and by 3 hours had gone triple platinum, just for example. "vocal god" is fitting, as he can sing Adele, harsh metal, rap and pop music, sometimes all at once in a 4 minute song. too bad you feel that way, but please just take a couple of hours and listen to Linkinparks songs.
Lol There's a reason why he filled in as singer for Stone Temple Pilots and why Slash kept inviting him to sing classic rock covers at events. He is a very versatile singer with many abilities.
He can't sing? Ok, listen to his live version of Adele 'Rolling in the deep'. Do you realize what skill you have to have to go from that scream to belting, a single breath after?? Clearly not.... and he did this live too. R.I.P. Chester.
