Funny you mention the reason for the TPS, I run a full service repair shop and one time had to replace a super charger on a 3.8 buick, when she got it back she brought it back like 3 times because it "didn't have enough power to keep up with traffic" then of course we would drive it and it ran great, no codes, data looked great, then she would take it and told us it was a dog so finally I hooked up the scanner and went for a drive with her and it was great so we switched seats on the side of the highway and had here drive it and sure enough she couldn't keep up with traffic and I realized the TPS was only reading about 50% at the most when she said "that's as fast as it will go", I just kept encouraging her to press harder, she finally got it up about to 90% and scared the crap out of herself, we had a customer for life and she never complained about the power again, she just wasn't pushing the throttle all the way!

Hey Eric, one thing lots of IT computer techs do is on questionable connectors like that. We toss a little hot glue on them on the outside of the connecter after they are plugged in. Just a small dab will hold really well. When you need to unplug them, a hot air gun or little alcohol will release the glue.

Just FYI the IAC and TPS are dodge Dakota and can be picked up at a parts store. I have seen a brand new Holley unit have the injector plug connection not even aligned and off to one side but just making a contact on the side of plug instead of in it.

If you wanted to keep a TPS on the carb but it doesn't have the provision, you could grab a suspension position sensor in the junkyard from like a gmt800 cadillac escalade. It should be just a potentiometer like the TPS that you can wire up to give some TPS input in the ecu. Then you can somewhat develop a fuel map based off your jetting, throttle position, rpm, and O2 readings.

As you can see, like the Terminator TBI, the MAP sensor only reads from one "side" of the TBI. Put it on a true dual plane manifold without the center wall cut down, and your MAP signal is not smooth. That's been known to cause street guys that run dual plane manifolds problems.

Pretty cool, we are installing the same Holley Sniper Stealth system on my wife's '63 chevy II. Except the one going on her's is the 870cfm unit. We just got the battery reinstalled in the trunk and should get it fired up within the next couple of days. I'm nervous, we've done so much work on her car; heads, valvetrain, intake, efi, ignition, coolant system, brake lines, fuel system and computer-controlled OD transmission. I've read about all the PIA issues some people seem to have with these aftermarket efi systems. I hope everything goes smoothly. We started this project last September and my wife is a bit impatient at this point for it to get done.

@@WeingartnerRacing can you put bigger injectors and change the MAP sensor out with a bigger MAP sensor on either Sniper setup to be able to make more Horsepower and to be able to put more boost or nitrous to the engine especially on the Super Sniper? because if you can and as long as you get it to run correctly and you are able to run any type of fuel you want to run I would think that would be the easier way to run a boosted application or if you wanted to run more than just one stage of nitrous I would think that would be the much easier and cheaper way to switch an older carburetor engine over to EFI and with the Super Snipers ECU you can fine tune everything and just run a separate data logger and have most of the sensors you want in one kit

A little while back I had pick up some of the older original Terminator model throttle bodies that were empty so I could set them up for my own application. Those sensors are all the same as these old models . If you check the paperwork it will give you the Holley part numbers , if you run the part numbers and look closely at some of the photos you can find the part numbers . They are Mopar parts for the air charge, tps and iac from say a 2005 dodge Ram.

I had a Megasquirt I set up in a previous project functioning very similarly except that I also had set it up to control my timing as well. I interfaced it with a large cap computer controlled HEI Distributor so I didn't have to worry about timing control on a boosted engine which "can be" a problem for the blow through guys. Never got around to the boost but it made for a great setup on a budget for data logging and timing control which are arguably two advancements that made blow through a lot easier in the modern era.

Do you still have this? I was wondering if you could tell me if the threaded plug next to the throttle position sensor goes to the map sensor? Also is the map sensor port on the bottom tapped so I could put a plug in it? I plan on using this on a roots supercharger but I need run a reference line to the intake manifold instead of above the supercharger. Hopefully this makes sense, thanks!

The idea behind this unit is solid, but why does it have to be so badly put together..? When your MAP-sensor membrane melts from the fuel, or crumbles with heat, the whole control unit is done. And more. At least a half a dozen points of inevitable failure, and when any of those points give in, the car either stops working or grenades the engine. Are the higher end models equally as bad?

After a couple of weeks of troubleshooting it, and finally getting a mirror and conforming that the rear driver side was shutting off. Tore it apart and found what you had. Injector plug was not plugged in correctly. It's a soft plug and can see why it took vibration to make it break contact. Other problem with them is I've had the tps slip on the shaft and hang up around 80%. I carry a couple new one in glove box as I've had it happen a couple times so far.
