What does slow living mean to you? How do you slow down and simplify life?

I feel the calmest when I have no plans, a loose idea of what I want to do. Plans stress me out and lately I’ve been decluttering my house and it’s the BEST feeling in the world.

This video is essentially a guide to healing trauma and the nervous system from abuses of this world and other humans. Take these steps she's teaching and you'll find restoration and wholeness; what we are all seeking and need.

I struggled for years to believe that I am enough. I am enough and the real freedom is knowing it for myself. That is real acceptance.

Thanks so much, Connie - I have just discovered your channel and I appreciate your videos. I recently moved to the gorgeous Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina and I am so enjoying slowing down and simplifying my life. I cannot believe how much joy I have found just by sitting in a rocking chair and observing God's glorious creation!😍

Staying in a basic routine helps me slow down and prioritize myself. Each morning my husband and I enjoy coffee or tea on the couch during the quiet.
I also love opening the window blinds to greet the new day which is lovely!
It’s become our start to the day.
Most evenings I always take a nice hot bath before bed. My family has been so kind, often asking me when/if I will be taking my bath so they don’t occupy the bathroom.
Having a bed already turned down for the night is wonderful to crawl into when we are so tired. I also have amber lightbulbs in our nightstand lamps and ceiling fan to keep the lighting subtle. Just sets the coziness. 😊

I also single parented while working full time for many years. It was quite a hectic lifestyle. Having gone on permanent disability seventeen years ago was a blessing in many ways. Since my nervous system is in a revved up state I get stressed very easily. I will at times say to myself; does this have to get done now or is this urgent. Watching lovely relaxing videos like yours are a true soothing balm for my soul. You are appreciated.
Love & blessings to you & all.

Hi mam, so happy for your way of living style which I can do only in my dream, as a Indian it’s difficult to follow such life style but I slowly changed this two years to minimalist slow life, my 2 nd days of periods I can’t even move but have to run as all normal day today work, luckily I’m a homemaker.thanks a lot for such a great thoughtful videos 🥰🫶

Single mum here.... Doing everything for everyone for such a long time until my body just gave up....... Adrenal Fatigue /Burnout is forcing me to slow down but the mind is racing. Adjusting to a new way of living isn't easy.... But it is a relief. I too am trying to lean into boredom 😊

Sometimes, we need our bodies to tell us to "slow down". Take care of yourself and continue to listen to your body.💗

7:47 “ I can’t give to those I care about when I’m depleted and exhausted myself “ very true, self care (physical, mental and emotional) is of utmost importance.
When depleted, burned out and exhausted we even can’t give to ourselves.

Wow! I did not know you were a single mom at the time! Just like you I was a single mom and run-run-run was the only way to survive. I often reflect on my twenties and thirties and can't understand how the heck I did it. But, there is time for everything in life and we would not be where we are today without all this hard work we did in the past.
And I agree! Now it's the time to slow down and enjoy life. We earned it!

I'm struggling a lot with having too much to do lately. By lately I mean the past 10 or 20 years.
I think about everything that I have to do and it exhausts me and then I wind up doing nothing.
Hopefully I can take something from this video. Thank you

Thanks so much Connie for always helping me come back to my center. My current job does cause me to struggle with slow living. But there are some things that are my go to's when my spirit is seeking peace. A walk through our local forest preserves, sitting and slowly drinking a cup of warm tea, gentle yoga, putzing in my kitchen at my own pace. Thank you for always inspiring me.

At age 65 my wife and I moved from a Boom town of about half a million people to a pretty town of 8000
on lake Huron. I miss my friends but I have met so many easy going people here that it does not bother
me a whole lot. The sky here in Goderich is amazing at night. My moment of zen is a three beer fire.
No music just me and the night sky. I have pretty much stopped watching TV. I do not carry a phone.
    😀

this is great now - looking back, not sure I could have or would have followed your advice lol - with kids, working full time, etc. However, I should have delegated a lot more back then and maybe it would have been feasible. Love this video and trying to follow this advice in the empty nest syndrome time of my life :)

    • @JenFlutterby
      @JenFlutterby ปีที่แล้ว +1

One thing that helps me. I think back on different situations where I felt the exact same way, remember that it turned out just fine, and that the anxiety was temporarily. It reminds myself that ‘I’ am in control of how I react to what I’m going through. And will not allow the situation to take hold of me. So many times I remember how I worried and everything turned out just fine!
You will find how much stronger you feel.
