WOW!!! I really enjoyed this commentary by a pro about his performance in a very big match. I hope this is done by other tennis players and their matches. Great Job!
Jim, I am so happy for you. I was an American living in Paris at that time. My Father worked for Sarah Lee Corporation and we had a box at Rolland Garros. We walked to the stadium from our home. I remember this match! You pulled through. I remember another one with Edberg. You were an inspiration to us Americans living in Paris at the time. I watched you for several years live. I learned to play tennis from my Grandmother on a court she built on our family farm in SC. She played until she was 80 years old. It was crazy tennis- we hand nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, parents, and dogs all out on the court. My Grandfather would sit in his golf cart and laugh and call foot-faults to irritate us all. I recently played my younger Brother who lives in Kenya and takes lessons and plays regularly. I hadn't played in two years (I am 45 years old). We just kept going after the set was over and I lost 9-8 games on the last point- but we just had the best time channeling our Grandmother. Thank You for the video. Best, Michael Schenck
The Pasco Pirate , My approach to Matches changed forever for me after I saw this match . Thx Jim , A Great Inspiration , Champion . Now a Knowledgeable Commentator 👍🏻
I saw Jim in his channel 7 suit at 2011 Australian Open , told him I was cheering for him in this match. He was embarrassed. Graciously agreed for a selfie
This is awesome Jim narrating his journey and moments in the match! I’d love for you to narrate that AO 1995 against Pete and also the finals 1993 at WImbledon against Pete
I was a Jim fan, was so happy win this win (felt a bit sorry too for Andre who I liked too, thank god he won in 99 :) ), as I was so happy about the 2nd one the following year against Korda. But his loss against Bruguera in the 93 final, was terrible and so heartbreaking, it took me several days to recover...lol A great champion and endearing person.
First time I saw Courier play was against Agassi at the 1989 French. I remember ESPN only showed a set of that match and moved on to other sporting coverage after that first set which Courier won. I remember thinking this guy plays a lot like Agassi but with a bigger serve. I was a fan from that point on.
This tournament is the one that lit my passion of tennis. As an hardcore Agassi fan I had PTSD for years...😂 Fortunately Andre won the French 8 years later
This tournament this particular year lit my passion for tennis as well. Agassi was my hero, but I started to like Jim later on, he was so classy as world NO.1.
Did it twice and almost a THIRD time, and it took a master clay court specialist, Sergi Bruguera, to dethrone him, In 5 sets !! Sergi wasn’t right , for months, after the 93 final….
Why we have to continue listening to Jim again, specially in finals like the masters 100 in Paris. He has nothing to say to the game except jokes about what’s going on. Please keep this guy out of tennis comments. Please please 🙏. We need more people like Paul Anacone. That is a commentator we need to listen to, to learn from and enjoy tennis 🎾 closely, like only Paul can deliver.
Did you hear what Jim said about tennis players in Wimbledon final when Djokovic was leading 4-1 against Berrettini (in the first set) and 30-40 in Berrettini’s favor? That tennis players don’t have real jobs and consequently not real stress. When we are going to stop seeing these clowns on tv that have never been in the sport? He never was. I am pretty sure that he’s so jealous that he can not make that kind of money, or maybe he gets paid $10.00 an hour, right Jim?. It’s very disrespectful what you said about the sport. Yes, clowns. In comparison with Paul Annacone, he’s a clown. We need more people like Paul, who’s opinion is needed and valuable and helps understand tennis truly, that inspires. Jim! ...🤫 If I am Nadal or Federer I would ask for this guy to not narrate my game.
Wow! Jim's voice is so enthralling. Great to have him here to do this commentary.
Jim Courier was my childhood crush in the 90s, he's actually more charming & handsome now.
Sexy!
Great narration and insights by Jim. I remember watching that final. And Jim was right, he was one of the fittest guys on the tour. Huge win!
That was some of the best insightful commentary coming from the champ himself.

My favorite player of all time

Thanks for the narration, Jim. You are a true champion, a role model and class act.
You're the man Jim! Thanks for sharing.
I find Courier one of the coolest ever because of his baseball cap, his serve and his ground strokes / Sweden

And his gorgeous looks!
Great video Jim! This is how all classic matches should be narrated.. heck get them both there to narrate together!
I saw Jim in his channel 7 suit at 2011 Australian Open , told him I was cheering for him in this match. He was embarrassed. Graciously agreed for a selfie
Jim i watched you back then and I love to listen to your commentary now on the matches you cover.

Jim is still handsome after all these years.
After all these you and I actually agree on something. Pigs must be flying. I'd say he's hotter now...for a ginger.
He's hot sexy because he's a ginger. ❤❤❤😂😂😂
Saved by the rain :P Just like Agassi in 1999!
So true. Two huge champions, forever two living legends.
Parisians were totally in love for Jim.
And after he won he went for a jog. That was some serious fitness excellence by Jim Courier

I was 12 Years old that day and i started to cry when Andre lost this Final
Jim you are the best commentator ever
Love Courier. Great video

I love see again Jim with Diadora brand
Two Americans in the French Open Final? What a time to be alive.
haaa jim! the good old years
Jim Courier loves to talk about Jim Courier.
He's a pretty cool, and down to earth guy imo. But yeah, I'd be happy to brag about beating Agassi at the major he wanted most lol
Farid Damasio Ironically, Andre won his French , with the help of a rain delay , if I recall ...
You've aged well, Jim!
Courier deserved to win that final but I'm sure he was helped a lot by the two rain interruptions.
Chang and Courier were the big clay guys for a while
Yes Jim, nice honest assessment at 04:16 you did look silly :-))
Great video.
That hairpiece stole the show for me.....beautiful.
Did it twice and almost a THIRD time, and it took a master clay court specialist, Sergi Bruguera, to dethrone him, In 5 sets !! Sergi wasn’t right , for months, after the 93 final….
👍👍
I believe Agassi didn’t beat Courier again until 1996
He was worried about his wig.😂
B
Lol,raffa would’ve kicked both your butts lol

Keep Jim away from tennis 🎾 please 🙏🙏🙏. He has nothing to say. He’s a clown next to Paul Anacone. He has not useful insight but noise.
We get it now, you love Annacone and hate Courier.
@@al1976-v7m are you his boyfriend?
Jim must especially thank the rain. it was played in the second set...
