    A few points to remember:
    1) Most dogs shouldn't carry more than 15% of their total body weight in a pack for extended periods (especially any breed that's prone to joint issues).
    2) Proper weight distribution is very important for dog backpacks. Divide everything they're carrying in two and put half in each side of the pack (two water bottles, two dishes, two bags of food, etc). Load the sides so that they mirror each other. Keeping the pack evenly weighted is actually more important than the amount of weight that's in the pack.
    3) Packs with removable pouches are the best. Whenever you stop to take a break, you take your pack off. You should do the same for your dog. Being able to quickly remove and reattach the bags makes it much easier for you and your dog.
    Just my 2¢.

@@withastickangrywhiteman2822 woah that's a lot of weight. Dogs are not horses. Yes some rather strong breeds can carry more than the suggested %15 percent but that's over kill. Get yourself a mini horse

you know you're not being a good dad/mom when your dog has had enough and decides to bug-out.

Whether y'all go with a regular 72 Hour Dog Bug Out Bag as seen in this video or customly build 1 using a K9 MOLLE Harness with MOLLE Pouches (multiple GP (General Purpose) Utility & probably a couple (2) customly filled up First Aid Medical Pouches) attached either way y'all are putting 2gether/building/preparing a K9 72 Hour Bug Out Bag!

This was great, thanks, been searching for "bug out kit" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Janameron Tenylan System - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.
