- So good to be back in Lake District and this time I explored a new area the Langdale Pikes. This area is in Central Lake District so only 20 minutes from Ambleside so a really easy place to get to once you are in the Lakes.
After 4 months of no fell or hill walking would I be able to make it up the steep incline to Stickle Tarn and beyond?
It was definitely a fitness challenge for me but if you don't push yourself a bit you may lose ability to get up to these beautiful places. It is well worth the effort for amazing views and I was early so I had it all to myself. It seems most people don't arrive until 10:30 am the time I was finishing.
I share a tip on where you can park for free at the end if you do get there very early.
Good to see you back on youtube. Yes, fantastic views, lovely place. The sounds of the streams are magical,
Thanks - it is a whole new world of sights and sounds in the Lakes
Nice walk, I would have been sore for a few days after that.
Thanks, It was quite tough after having a long break from this sort of thing
God bless you Richard, beautiful but challenging, well done. Don't think I would have made it. Atb.
I did n’t think I would make it at one point 👍
Super Gorgeous Brother in the Lord, God Bless!!!
Thanks Brother
Nice to see that you are back day tripping again Richard.
I am having a long hospital stay with a spinal infection so watching your hike and the beautiful scenery was thoroughly enjoyable.
Thanks- I pray you have complete healing in Jesus name and are up and about again soon
@@DayTripperAdventures Thanks Richard 🙏🏻
awesome great job be careful please so beautiful thank you
Thank you you do need to watch your step but it adds to the fun of it
Another very enjoyable Daytripper video. Brought back some great memories when I was in the exact same area some 65 years ago when I was 18 years old on an Outward Bound course at Eskdale. 😎❤️🇬🇧👍
Thanks Dad it is challenging going up some of these. They have n’t got any more forgiving in all these years ❤️👍🇬🇧
always a pleasure to watch your video!
Thanks again for watching
Hi Richard. I loved the great views you had well worth it just for them alone besides the peace and quiet.
Thanks Marie yes it is worth the effort getting up there but can be tough on the way up
G'day from Australia 🦘 love your channel and content. Your an inspiration mate. Take care K.✌️
Thanks I appreciate your encouragement
very nice to have you back
Thanks Bill
It was a great and wonderful experience hiking with you Richard.
I really missed the moments there. It's amazing and everyone should visit and try.
Thanks Sid you should hike more often. You will be in Fridays video together with Xiwang. I’m so glad we filmed as these moments in the mountains are so precious
Well done Richard 👍 That was a tough hike (I've done the bottom section, only 😉)
I hope you and the family are doing well 🙏
Thanks HB all good this end. It’s probably not tough for those who do this every week but after a few months off was a challenge
Just goes to show what you can do if you put your mind to it. Views were great. Nice to see you showing the map route. Especially with the "I am here" tech. I expect you had a few memory refreshers on, fitness, equipment, climbing and especially crossing the top of a waterfall. Great stuff Richard.
Thanks Yes it does bring back a lot of memories of previous trips being out there again
Good to see you back….. where have you been!!😊
Thanks - life has many different parts and hiking and camping is just a small part
We were supposed to do a big loop starting with Stickle Tarn last July, but 3 days before I stubbed my little toe so badly I couldn't walk on it!
That’s a shame hopefully you can do next time. I think the loop is very ambitious as it’s much further and takes longer than it looks. My next video is Pike of Stickle out on Friday
I am worried about your dog. Your film and commentary has always been amazing. Everything that is wrong with life , your progress put right.. You are amazing. Still worried about your dog.
Thanks Anthony - Xiwang is fine I did n’t bring him on this hike but he did come up another mountain on one of my next videos. He does love adventure but I do carry him for some of it
