I always thought Carl was the reason ii always played Marcus as a rebel. When I picked up the paints as Marcus the very first time, I did it by the book(as an android on a path). The second time I knew who Marcus was and didn't go straight through. That's how I got pushed by the hot dog guy. Got called a demon by the preacher, which foreshadows Marcus's storyline, and got pushed by the protesters. It's the games why of making you give him more free will.
Fun fact: Hopeful and intimate both played during Kara’s story. Hopeful played while she was getting a ride home, and intimate played after something cute/sad happened

What's great about this sequence is that in the game, you can change the emotion of these songs depending on how fast you play them. I personally had chosen Hopeful... started tapping it slowly, gradually picking up the rhythm before slowing it back down again to make the character more contemplative. Doing it that way also helped what Carl says after make a lot more sense, and adds to the fact that he's encouraging him to become more human.

I truly love Hopeful because it’s the main theme, representing the hopes of androids and humans, representing the hopes that the story will be a happy one. Amazing in every way, and very well thought out.
All of the songs represent one of the themes of each character's soundtrack, I recommend to just listen to all the different soundtracks (all found on TH-cam)
As perfectly as he may play these songs, there is something he will always be unable to do. Play with emotion. All those songs are beautiful, and Markus makes no mistakes while playing, but his posture and body language show that he doesn't feel what he plays.
My nephew got me into this game. He did the game play and I made all the choices. He called it a playable movie. The storyline made me cry a couple of times. And don't get me started on Marcus 👌❤️
Whole point that people don't get is not to play fast, or slow. Speed doesn't matter. You need to play this by feelings, emotions... that is why music is magical.
Hopeful is always my favorite because it's the opening credits music. I love it! This part is always so awkward, though, because it's so difficult to get a nice rhythm just tapping the touch pad. I always end up going too fast or too slow or alternating between those and then when Carl says "something has changed in the way you play" I think "yeah, it's really bad."
Technically its Connor. You can kill Markus and Kara off early in the game. But you cant kill off Connor. Markus definitely kick starters the revolution tho. But in the end, its up to Connor to either end it, lead it, or support it.

It is pretty shocking though that you grow attached to this girl and suddenly she is an android. It goes well with the theme of 'what defines a living being' the game has if you ask me.
You also gotta understand that the Android Revolution was CyberLife's and Kamski's plan from the start. Connor's real mission was to fuel the rebellion and eventually become the leader of the rebellion - or at least one of the leaders. Hence why Amanda hijacks him the moment Connor is declared leader. Otherwise, if they were to fail and all 3 characters+androids are killed, then Kamski returns back to Cyberlife to recreate and restart planning the android revolution all over again
bebemax95 Although I feel like Kamski planned something different in the beginning, possibly to make people question their own humanity and such but then Cyberlife picked up on it but didn’t act on it till he was out of the picture and the company was under new leads. Thus why Connor and Markus are two very unique models. Markus was Kamski’s idea and plan while Connor was Cyberlife’s idea and plan.
I personally think that this game is the most just and apt replication of the nearcoming future itself. The way the story leads and divides but concludes quite tragically always leaves me wondering if there is really humanity in what we treat each other sometimes. I chose the HOPEFUL in my first playthrough and never regretted. This melody fits perfectly to first time players who would think there is always a way to co-exist. But much to our despair, that's never true. Also the INTIMATE one lets you cry sometimes as it lets the heart speak that what you do is not always right, that sometimes the powerless can also create the difference and to let them is your winning after all.❤
I can play the hopeful one on the piano XD because it’s the opening title theme ❤❤ also it sounds pretty sad to me and like the world is crumbling around you rather than being built back up again imo
‘Hopeful’ is the song that resonates more with me, ‘cause was my first playthrough with Detroit. And I really love Markus playing piano, it’s so emotional both of the moments that he plays. It’s one of the details that I most appreciate in DBH.
I love the fact we could play fast and slow with just the space bar :) if only they have an "extra" segment for piano which we can play outside of the main game. So that we could revisit this piano segment.
