No we did not. When Eddie pulled 500, the record was 465 so he beat it by 7.5%. Therefore we should only be truly impressed when someone pulls 538+ kg. 501 and 505 kg is still a rounding error and not sufficient to overshadow Eddie’s lift. Would be an amazing lift for sure, but not a smashing new world record in my opinion.

I do not doubt that Hafthor lifted 501KG, but Eddie will always be remembered as the strongman that broke the half tonne first AND did it in competition. Eddie is the official WRH. Hafthor has a PB which is counted as the unofficial wr imo. These other guys are nowhere near to breaking the half tonne. Eddie "THE BEAST" Hall will go down in strongman history for what he achieved, the first to do what was thought impossible.
Eddy almost died lifting half ton but Thor made it look very easy besides that Thor has to lift it higher than Eddy due to height difference between two lads.

I believe 505 is possible. Hafthor could possibly have gone as far as 520 on the day he lifter 501. But I am completely sure he could have lifted 505.
