You look good Chris in Malaysian national team soccer jersey. We just gave South Korean national soccer team a scare a few days ago at Asian Cup championship when we drew them 3-3. Proud of our national team!
Every state in Malaysia has their own unique, delicious food, like Kelantan with Nasi Kerabu (blue rice), Terengganu with Nasi Dagang (traders rice), Laksa Sarawak (breakfast of the gods by anthony bourdin). You try it, and you gonna fall in love more with Malaysia.
This is a place where all tourists should go to taste real local malaysian food. Incredibly tasty and very cheap. Still I don't understand, why many tourists still go to Jalan Alor where everything is ridiculously overpriced and run by foreigners.
I saw Brad's video earlier and thank you for highlighting this area. Most of the time, only Jalan Alor gets the coverage by international travellers. 33:42 That's the right way of enjoying Cendol. Many outsiders wrongly drinking it directly without mixing it properly and ended up not enjoying it with the right taste. 42:55 Cempedak is Jackfruit. Madu is translated as "Honey" so Cempedak Madu is another variation of jackfruit with better taste. Goreng means "Fried". It takes about 3 minutes to fry it in a really hot cooking oil. One of travelling tips that I can share for street food tour is to buy a small water bottle and wash your hand (or fingers) first before touching the food for hygiene purpose. Another tip is to have a paper napkin / tissue to hold food items especially the hot one like cempedak goreng so that you don't have to finish it one off (like Brad did) instead enjoying bit by bit.
The sea coconut is air kelapa laut, not er kelapa lut. The donut is bomboloni. The man was not figuring out the ingredients for you. He was calculating how much you had to pay. I've heard of the fried cempedak. It is not jackfruit. Goreng is fried. The fried cempedak is something popular
Cendol is a SEA dessert which can be traced back to 12 century. In phillipine it calls halo halo, brunei, malaysia, singapore n indonesia called cendol, thailand - lot chong, vietnam - banh lot, myanmar - mont let song. The process is the same ie made from rice flour - extracted pandan leave (the green jelly) and mixed with coconut milk and palm or brown sugar (depends on the each country) and the rest of the mixtures are according to each country taste bud😊 Enjoy your stay here.
nice video promoting local street food . more videos like in this in near future . looks tasty and delicious hope to visit there someday and try your country street food .
Goreng means fried Nasi goreng.. fried rice Pisang goreng - fried banana So excited to watch yr video n very pleased to know that u've enjoy yourself so much in Malaysia. Welcome back to Malaysia Chris n welcome to Brad also.
FYI , air= water, kelapa= coconut, laut= sea. pasar malam = night market. Most of the night market are name by the street or generally the area where it is held. Malaysian will know where the market is if you mention the street name where the night market is. For instance the night market you just went to is call "PASAR MALAM JALAN TAR" = TAR STREET NIGHT MARKET.. and GORENG means " fried"
hii my bro I am very happy to you to nice welcome to Malaysia I am hope you to happy in Malaysia street eat looking I am very happy nice to meet you bro
I have to comment because I remember the fish balls you tried previously. Hehe 😅 I love getting notifications that you post! I watched your video while cooking dinner tonight! Best entertainment ever. Great vid!
Pasar Malam Jalan TAR 🌟 Very nice u bring Brad to share the experience exploring local hotspot. Also thank u for supporting local business n that Malaysia national jersey looks good on u Chris 👍
There are two types of jack fruit bro. One is called Nangka and the other is called Cempedak. But in the English translation both are called Jack fruit. The fruit looks similar but the taste is slightly different. Nangka is delicious to eat just like that. And there are also dishes that are eaten with rice. While Cempedak is tastier when fried with flour. Goreng means fried, bro.
Chempedak is a different kind of jackfruit. Jackfruit outside of South East Asia is the other kind which we called nangka ( which we don’t deep fry only Chempedak is deep fried). goreng means fried hence nasi goreng means fried rice and ayam goreng is fried chicken. 😊
You made me want to go to Jalan Tar Pasar Malam again.. Im local n usually i avoid going around that area on Saturday cz it usually jam-packed with people.. But seeing you enjoy all the food made me want to go there again.. haha
I was just watching Brad's video in the same lane when suddenly your video popped up. I had to watch it all the way too. I remember that's where you got a foot massage near the Indian Mosque, when your first time in Kuala Lumpur.
hi Chris/gorgeous guy.....thank u for ur review on Malaysia's street food.....I am always fascinated how u communicate with people.......keep on reviewing Msia's food....hahahah kelapa La/ut, 2 syllables..not Lut....anyway....interesting....i just followed ur trip in Eygpt...Cairo & Luxor.....or so sickening, boys pestering u to take the horse couch....I used to travelled oversea, if happen to me, I just walk off.....so, enjoy stay in KL/Malaysia.......u r just like a TV commentator/interesting....I love it......byeeeee.....
This popped up on my tv..it is you with another channel😊. Omg you are in some kind of food heaven..you need another 2 or 3 videos with the rest of the stuff u didnt try! This is some food sensory overload. Worth going to Malaysia just for the variety of unique food. Most of it looks homemade & tasty!
I love cendol. But when I am in Australia I have to made by myself The jelly green 💚 jelly. Is hard to made it. Cook it fast hot 🔥 then arhh it's complicated glutinous flour mixed with pandan leaf water and "kapur"😂. But the taste is awesome mixed with coconut milk and brown sugar. Also Ice cube. To be more delicious 😋 add red peanut.
Go Chris. Best Video of Kuala Lampur I have yet seen. Kim Philley of SV Philiosophy. Presently in Lombok Indonesia about to do a Visa run to Kuala Lompur. Thanks for the Info good man
Mr. Chris:Congratulations to you for your new remarkable video from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this weekend to shows these amazing places in Southeast Asia January of 2024❤❤❤
What a COOL aura it was.......the colour of the jersey you purchased with that of the rooftop of the pop up canopies on both sides of the food street 👌 😎 The fried CHEMPEDAK you had is the cousin of Jackfruit and it is rich in beta carotene 😋 It is advisable not to put the whole piece into your mouth, if eating for the first time......as the seed inside may be swallowed accidentally! Thanks bro, for the "tag along " tour of the Pasar Malam ❤️
The Jersey yellow looks good on You brother 👑 That coffee ☕😭😋I think is definitely delicious. The new camera 📸 Chris it's really Nice one So clear one day will have a nice one 🤓It could be An iPhone? Journey Well Brother 👍
Hi Chris! Good seeing you back in Malaysia. The Malaysian empenada is called karipap or curry puff in English. It's basically the same shape. Only the inside differs. 🙂 Also goreng is fried. Another great video. 👌🏼
