I don't go fishing early morning for the bite. I go there early for the peace and quiet.

I always have my best fishing in the middle of the day, or just before dark. Have tried for years to figure out why

The small lake I fish has one boat ramp with limited parking. If you go on a weekend you have to get there super early to make sure you have a place to park.

Since moving to Florida from Missouri 9 years ago I’ve found some of the best fishing in the heat of the day if YOU can stand the heat. The lakes I fish are barely 10’ deep. Water is currently 88° +. I fish the heavy pads in 5’+ of water. They are under the pads seeking shade and eating bluegills.

Hey man. I enjoy your stuff! This video was super useful! I fish in Ontario and I know that our small mouth will bite all year but August and early September is definitely the dog days of fishing and I’m always looking tipsy!
I know you get a lot of hate for the sonar stuff but I appreciate your passion and willingness to stick to your guns! In my opinion, I think you should really push the environmental side of the debate! I think a lot more people resonate with that side the FFS debate than the whole, “it takes away from the heritage or it makes tournaments less fun.”
I say this because I personally feel this way but also because angling is a super fast growing sport and all the young people these days are much more in tune with environmental impact than the older guys! Anyways just my two sense! Great vid!

Great tips as always! We just got back from the lake yesterday, had some awesome fishing for the first two days when it was cloudy but once the sun came out the last two days it was a morning and late evening bite mostly. Still caught a lot but definitely had to make some adjustments which is half the fun!

July and August I'll hit the lake about an hour before dark. I love a full moon fishing in 5 foot or less water with a black jitterbug. The bites are explosive.

The fishing is finally stable come June for me. I know exactly where they are in summer heat. They want shade and relief from temp so it makes em easy find. Sleep in and eat some breakfast that will do you way better than being up at 330 to be burnt out by noon

I do believe what you are saying , I can remember my friend and I were down in Venice in July , it was hot and the Mississippi River stage was at 16ft in New Orleans , the river was chocolate milk dirty , and we found good green water on the backside of the river and this is no BS , when we found the clearer water we were catching a bass 2-4 pounds every cast on a spinnerbait , the bass were so stacked in this clearer water , I could take my spinnerbait and drop it on side of the outboard motor let it go to the bottom , and pump it off the bottom and you could catch ‘em where ever you casted , now we found it with the outboard but when we looked down and saw the clear green water , we were on the trolling motor , my friend used to call himself Christopher Columbus cause we would go on an adventure , jump land , chainsaw trees to get in spots , this is the truth , he was wild

@@Nate_Higgins usually when the river is that high you can’t find clear water , we went through a restricted area marked with signs got in this ditch with elephant ears on both sides and the ditch was deep enough to run the motor the boat on both sides was on land crushing the elephant ears , and we came out that ditch into a huge flat and the coon tail grass was topped out on the surface and we found this old pipeline with no land on either bank just coon tail grass on both sides and the old pipeline still had about 6-7 ft of water in it and the grass was filtering the dirty water , but now that spot is long gone , it’s sad how nothing in Venice stays the same

August is definitely tough here on Beaver. That's when i got my only top 10 in outlr kayak club, so far. Just getting a limit went a long way. I was able to get a mediocre limit in War Eagle pretty much off of one laydown with a shakeyhead. This was good enough for a 6th place finish in August.

I've never fished on beaver but if I did. I'd look for main lake cuts easy access to deep water in August.Deep bluff or bank between two coves. I looked at map of beaver. It has several of those spots. In July and August they like and attract to those kinda banks. Easy access to thermal kline.

Because of farmwork early; I usually wouldn't get out on the water until 11-12:30 right in the middle of the day in july+ august. I had to get good at finding& catching bass with the time I had.

I was the exact opposite running my shop. Me and dad would get there before daylight and be back at work by 10. And sometimes head back around 6 and finish what we started that morning.

I get up early anyway. I have never been on the water fishing too early, too late or too long, and love to throw top water. So I guess I’m ok with the overrated times. 😬 To be honest, I’ve always done better in the evening last couple hours of daylight than the first couple morning hours anyway. I just want to be there all the times.

Aug or September is when my family goes to Stockton each year. Sure, we mostly fish for white bass trolling traps. We also catch some nice bass at this time. We fish about 4 to 10 feet of water. Most fish come where there are changes in depth near flats. No, we just eat the whites. Look for spring cracks in rocks. The strip pit can be good in August. Just sharing some tips for summer

If you ever want to bring your bass boat to the Chesapeake Bay I think you'd really enjoy jigging for flounder and catching redfish. I'd love to show you around. The flounder are here, and cobia too but season isn't quite open yet for them. You don't have a fish in the freshwater that's more if a warrior. They're awesome grilled too. Come catch something big and tasty with me.

I can’t find out but a friend like me is against forwards facing sonar in tournament fishing he looked back and seen the bag limit at weigh in then before f f s and now after and he said it has went up big time I am in a wheel chair walk enough I could get in a boat but I think if he would not use his f f s and I would use a zebco 33
I could beat Jacob Wheeler old school fishing with only know how and reading the water I am on dialysis I’m only 58 but haven’t gone bass fishing in 4 years pray to to my father in heaven I can go soon please let me know some how if the weights have changed

I don’t think you can throw a blank statement on the morning comment.
South Florida in the summer you better be getting on the water before the sun comes up - it will be your best fishing, period. Yes, you can still catch a big one mid-day (and there still is an afternoon bite in South Florida) - but the mornings at dawn in the summer are the best time to fish.

  • @kevinreimers1271

The worst time for an early morning bite is when it's dead calm. Mid morning when a breeze kicks up also the bite turns on. Usually 9.00am to noon.
