I am from Mac’s hometown and I know a lot of people that were tight with him, and I’m personally very offended. Swimming was that album for me, and yes, I’m biased as hell, but Cardi? Really? And I’d actually be surprised if she was “their (other) choice.” Something isn’t right here...I have theories...

Reputation and Camila were snubbed at the Grammys this year. They deserved so much better

Camilas album was good but is her own fault 4 preffering promoting havanna than other songs. Reputatiton, more like Recyclation, where hanging same topics as 1989, and 4 vocal album u hav2 do some vocal stuff, she just cant even throug she would if she wanted. Ariana was the better option by far.

Struggle recorder is everything. I've heard struggle recorder in some 5H fan-made videos and it takes me out every time.

Golden hour deserved imo. I honestly would’ve been ok with Janelle winning too. If the Grammys came out with the results of how many votes each album got I think Dirty Computer would’ve been 2nd. Also glad u didn’t trash it because some ppl are outta pocket with that...that being said...MELODRAMA WAS SNUBBED.

The thing about Golden Hour is that is was experimental for a country album., Kacey is pretty much blackballed in the country music industry because of said experimentation. Plus, her being an avid supporter of the LGBT.

Golden hour was written and composed by kacey and it was lyrically and sonically a good album
hm it kinda just sounds like basic pop country to me (don’t get me wrong i really like a couple of the songs) but pop country is really dominating right now within the country genre so i don’t really get an experimental or unique vibe from the album per day. still not bad at all though!
@@poetry_grrrl Agreed on that second part. I just feel like Kacey is adding certain sonic elements that I don't really hear in mainstream country pop. It's refreshing because I'm getting tired of hearing recycled clap beats, and bro-country dominating that radio.
@@poetry_grrrl There's a difference between pop country and Kacey's kind of country. Like, yes some of the song weren't amazing and essentially pop country, but most were also a huge deal when you think about how the country genre works. High Horse is the obvious one. Very clear disco influence with a fun melody and interesting lyrics. Slow burn is definitely more traditional, but the melody also had disco influence. Butterflies had an interesting R&B influenced melody for one of its guitar parts, as well as it's bass and drums a little. And that's just a few songs. I would go on, but I don't wanna bore anyone. But, yeah, Kacey is a really amazing musician and she really deserves more than to viewed as basic pop country. You don't have to like her, obviously, but she deserved the Grammy. I also think Janelle probably deserved it more, but that's a different story.
i dont think lemonade was a big snub cause let's face it it went to Adele, could have been worse but Bruno Mars winning album of the year over melodrama is probably the biggest mistake ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adele's album was pretty similar to everything else she's done though, just a lot of emotionally driven power ballads, she's sort of a one trick pony. Also, 21 wasn't a MOMENT in pop culture like Lemonade was.

The thing about Anti is it was released end of january just a bit before GRAMMYS and didnt qualify for that year. and its hard for artists to make albums memorable enough to be noted a whole year later. thats why dec, jan, and feb are typically dry months for music. those are the ones that go unnoticed in the long run

Omg you should react to MASSEDUCTION by St. Vincent who did that amazing number with Dua Lipa. The title track won the Grammy for best rock song, and it's like some really good alt rock/electro pop music. It also won for its album art as well. It's really good and St. Vincent is pushing boundaries with her amazing guitar and songwriting skills.

After Kacey Musgraves won AOTY, I called BS.... that is until I listened to the album which entered my Top 5 of all time. And this is coming from an African American hetero male who only listens to everything. The only albums higher are Adele's "21", "25", Lorde's "Pure Heroine" and Sia's "100 Forms Of Fear."

hi I know how they give out the Grammys. a couple of professors at my college are on the board. basically to get on the recording academy board you have to apply and pay an annual fee. when you apply you have to be part of the industry in some way and you have your focus in music like production, recording, writing, etc. or for a genre like rap or pop etc.
anyway, so every year the Grammys come around every member is allowed to vote but only in the categories that apply to their focus. a lot of people think that everyone on the board votes for every category but they don’t. they make sure they have people who (should) know what they’re talking about for each award. I don’t think anyone votes on more than like 5 awards. most people don’t have to listen to more than 10 albums (or songs depending on their focus) so everyone voting has more than enough ability to listen to everything in their category.
anyway that’s the best I can put it if you have a question about it just comment.

Still so happy though that Dula Peep won Best New Artist! She deserved it so much! Plus I'd happened to be blasting Self-Titled: The Complete Edition earlier that day in the car so I like to think I helped her win but putting out all those good vibes and basically putting on a performance for a bunch of my favs. (Ex. Hotter than Hell, IDGAF, Garden, New Rules, & the five bonus tracks, because they're all bops and I'm glad they were on Disc 1 with the standard edition because they'e easily some of the best deluxe edition tracks I've ever heard in my life).

React to OIL OF EVERY PEARL’S UN-INSIDES by SOPHIE. It’s an amazing album about SOPHIE’S transition (MTF) and one of the best electronic projects of the year, it was even Grammy Nominated for the best Dance/Electronic album of the year (and TOTALLY snubbed). SOPHIE does production for Charli XCX, has worked with Madonna and is working with Lady Gaga on LG6. I’m telling you, you need to react to this album, its a literal masterpiece that transcends genre. This album made me feel so many emotions, even ones I didn’t know I had. SOPHIE is such an important and talented artist as a trans woman and she is a incredibly talented electronic music producer.

As much as I loved dirty computer, as soon as I heard golden hour I knew it was my aoty. Not even a country fan but the whole album was cohesive and beautiful. Hearing rainbow especially 👏👏 such a self care bop for the gays. Kasey is the yeehaw Queen and deserves all the love she’s getting and more
