Honda 4 Cylinder Starter Replacement Tip

While installing a starter in a 2009 Honda CRV, Ron Ananian The Car Doctor™ shares a trick for keeping the bolt in place as he gets the starter into position. Because the bolt won't be visible when the starter is in place, Ron says "it's the bolt you feel for." Ron uses a simple rubber band wrapped around the ear of the starter to keep the bolt from falling out while he gets it into place. As the bolt is tightened down, the rubber band will just break apart, not bothering anything.
Bonus tip: Always oil the threads on your steel bolts, especially when the steel bolt is going into an aluminum housing. The bolts go in easier and makes life much easier if you ever have to take it out!
