Ikr! Listen without Messi, Argentina and Barca would not be the same team. There's no doubt about that. It's a fact. Messi creates everything. Either by dribbling past 3-6 players amazingly or threading the needle with an incredible pass. The only reason people are saying he sucked was bc he didn't score. And all those people are Ronaldo fans. And yes Ronaldo does score, but that's it. He does nothing else. The only thing I will say is that Ik Messi is a great team mate and Ik he likes to give his team mates a chance to score. But sometimes he's gotta do it himself. Now on Barca it's different bc he has Neymar and Suarez and a lot of other players who can finish the job (rakitic Pedro iniesta), but on Argentina the only player I would trust 100% is aguero. I just realized Messi was involved in every single goal from Argentina.
1. Defender passed wrong because of Messi pressure.
2. Scored penalty, also passed to di Maria before he dived for pen.
3. Involved in passing before goal.
4. Gave beautiful ball to the side to di Maria who crossed before goal.
5. Great assist from free kick
6. Amazing assist for Pastore
7. Involved in passing before goal.
8. Goal scored after Messi's unbelieveble run. He created 5v1 (+golie) situation and Pastore almost fucked it.

Fans have to realize that Messi's only 28, he actually has quite a few chances left to win a Copa America / World Cup.

It wasnt messis fault that they lost. Messi was best player of hole tournament and it was Messi who scored Argentinas only goal in penalty shootout in final. So if other players would have scored their penalties would Messi be better player than now when others failed? And Messi played allmost same role in this tournament that Iniesta play at Barca so one goal, three assist, 2.5 key pass per game and 6 succesfull dribbles per game isnt bad, its fucking amazing.
Messi is only 28 and i remember that next summer will be copa america again, some kind of hole america tournament, so meybe next summer he will win copa. And in 2018 WC messi will be only 31 same age than robben or iniesta now so he will be in his best in 2018 and in 2019 copa messi will be 32, same age than Ribery now. now when Pirlo and Xavi have retired Messi is maybe best playmaker in world. when all of the opponents in the copa america were clearly told to "get messi" and double mark him, and the other players around him generally didn't do anything to support his passes, runs etc...its hardly surprising, and they still got the final!!! That first game vs paraguay sums up the genius that is Lionel Messi. You create 10 chances in a game, score 1 and run rings around everyone on the pitch, but the general public will see that ronaldo scores 2 goals, both tap ins or 1 penalty also, and the will say ronaldo was better that game.... this is why people think ronaldo is better than messi because nobody bothers to actually watch them play they just see the stats.

A major tournament imo does not relate to being the best anyway. There are too many variables to consider, and luck involved. Just like in the CL for example.
Messi had a deep lying midfielder to help build the play and was expected to assist and score. He was expected to be Xavi, Iniesta and his goal scoring self. Even sampoali said Argentina hardly passed him the ball. Hard to be effective in a game if you don't get touches.

Please tell me you will be making a Lionel Messi Copa America 2016 - The Movie! This is a fantastic video and I love how you've gone through each game so you've managed to get just about every good moment from his tourney. He's only played 3 games (29 mins, 45 mins and 90 mins), so far at this years Copa but even so there's so many clips to see again. 4 goals, 2 assists, that brilliant pre-assist for Aguero's goal and that cheeky nutmeg of the keeper against Bolivia. Not to mention some other nice moments like the volleyed pass to Gaitain early in the second half against Venezuela. Two MOTM performances in three games despite only playing about 165 minutes!
This video is a great answer for those who consider that Messi is bad with Argentina. Great.
what stood out the most in this video from me apart from his excellence is the time he and the uruguyan defender (suazo?) got into an altercation and leo just smiles at him, the defender smiling back and you can feel they both know there‘s nothing else the defender could’ve done to stop him ANY defender.

what Messi missed the support of his forwards, as always. Having said that, he wasn't at his brilliant best either. He should've been more adventurous in front of the goal. He was just happy to keep passing. 1 penalty in the entire campaign is not good enough for Messi. The refereeing standard didn't help either. In the final they were just kicking him off the ground every time he touched the ball BUT no excuses for not winning this one. It's a bad miss. Argentina should've won this copa. Tevez should've played instead of Higuain.
He should have at least 1 more goals despite his deeper role this tournament. Overall brilliance.

In Barcelona he destroys 2-4 players and has at least 5 options to pass the ball, here i saw no one near him, he had to dribble on midfield 2-3 players and no Argentinean players near him for him to be a good option. He had to to create most of argentina's chances along with pastore who was his closest partner and were 30-50 yards apart sometimes.
