Thanks Al and Ioan. With the excitement of your first ROV adventure and footage, the 34 minutes passed very quickly for me. I was impressed by the camera quality from the ROV, hopefully you will be able to get some fantastic footage from future explorations.
TH-cam UNSUBSCRIBED ME FROM YOUR CHANNEL? I WAS subbed, now I am not. Your video came up as a RECOMENDATION. They think I might like your channel. WELL NO SHIT. It's why I subbed.
Thanks for trying this out. We have been considering one for our show. It did give you a few cool shots but I don't think it would last long exploring mines. There are too many hazards with the narrow passages and timbering. I am glad that you were able to get it back up without getting stuck!
Dude your a legend thank you for checking this out and reading my comment on your channel about the rov. Your Next mission is to travel to this land of wales and visit these two
I agree but there are ways to minimize that risk. I have never dropped an ROV in a mine but have built a few and operate them professionally. Clump weights, a gripper and maybe even a 2nd ROV could minimize the risk. Something I have always wanted to try, just not with any of my ROVs. The best solution for mine diving would be to custom build something with multiple camera, 4 thrusters, tether weaved into rope and an HDPE frame.
The rov footage is great and with practice controlling it can only get batter. May be taking it to a flooded chamber in a slate mine would give you a chance to really test it out. Keep up the good work. God bless
That is so awesome you guys got an RIV it!!! I’ve ALWAYS wanted to see down into those flooded winzes. You guys definitely did something very special here. Thank you for going deep into these crazy dangerous mines, and going above and below lol to show us incredible views people haven’t seen in hundreds of years!!! Can’t wait to see more ROV!!!
That rov is so awesome mates. Nice addition to mine exploring. The colors in that mine from white, with black and then orange rock was extraordinary beautiful. You ought to practice in a pond for those skinny dives in the mine.
What a mine, so many levels and heap to explore. The ROV stuff is great 👍 this will.take your adventures to a new level. Merry Christmas 🎅 Pete Australia 🇦🇺
you guys are the best. It is fantastic that you appreciate your surroundings and preserve what you see for future explorers. I've learned so much from this channel. I hope to visit that area!
Im so glad you didn't get stuck, I can fly model planes and helicopters so I know it can be bloody hard once you get disorientated so just an idea, if you stop dead then any debris you may have disturbed should slowly fall down that is provided there's no current in the water.
I thought you did pretty good for a first in a mine. You could certainly get twisted around many things though. Thank you guys, looking forward to more ROV mining.
Astounding stuff, guys! That ROV will open up so much to see. Well done on coming up with the idea! The picture quality is top notch, too! Put the grabber on in later explorations. What's lost underwater may as well come back for people to see in your museum. Thank you for the video!
Interesting to see two ghosts at 6:21!!! Maybe you will find the skeletons in one of the flooded parts of the mine, the next time you use the ROV. Did you do any research to see if anyone died in this mine?
You should definitely scuba dive this flooded level. You could spend a few hours down there. You wouldn't have a cable that gets caught or a short battery run time.
That looks like fun. Hope you can sinc up some live commentary so the feeling of excitement of any discovery comes across . I know its going to be a bit more heavy on the editing but the picture quality looks like it will all be worth it eventually.
Seriously cool stuff. Your knowledge of the mines history was impressive. It'll be awesome to see you improve with the rov. Maybe that grabber arm would be good for if your umbilical gets snagged?
Amazing to think that eyes haven't viewed that history under that water in decades. Too bad the ROV doesn't come with claws for relics. Looking forward to more of this. Time for scuba certification now? 😀
Love your video! I think it is great that you're bring new technology to the field! Just one constructive criticism, maybe practice driving the rov in some open water like a lake or deep pond. That will make you master of the mines!
Go to Champion mine east of cottage grove oregon. That water drone needs to explore the blue azurite butter walls that have tunnels of water in double digits. 25,000ft of workings. good luck
Loving the ROV clips ever so intresting to see what's down there as never been explored before but just one question what happens if it gets stuck down there or caught etc? Sure was a Epic mine to explore though and that little water pipe well with fresh water coming out of it was cool to see. Happy Christmas 🎅🙏
With a lot of deep sea ROV vids I see they have a pair of parallel lasers a foot or so apart that provide the operator with a range to orient on, and provide researchers with scale. Might be helpful. IDK what you could use to figure out up and down, maybe a weight on a stick
You might be able to reduce the ROV sensitivity in its software if you plug her into a pc. Can't imagine you would overlook this as a needed feature if manufacturing ROV. Maybe call the manufacturers if you can't find anything in your instructions book.
Do y’all use and cleaning solutions of preference on your rouv to prevent sediment buildup and or erosion I have me a fathom one rouv and found simple green boat cleaner might be a great eco safe cleaning option for rouvs but I’m not sure
Dude, practice in a safe area because you will loose the ROV down a mine in areas where the tether can be snagged on old timbers. Prediction for the future, you will need diving gear to retrieve artifacts you find. Just be safe guys
From where you are would it be a stope? Or a winze sense it’s going down? Or dose a winze take you into a stope? Or is it a stope cause of the way it’s mined?
I remember getting wedged in a pothole when i was about 13 with the scouts. i honestly cant believe they used to let kids do crazy shit like that. there was water pissing down past me and i couldnt get a full breath cos my chest was wedged. these people are mental
6:21 slow this bit down to 0.25 speed... It's probably the breath of the guy in front or something but if you stop video at just the right time, i shit you not that it looks like almost a hooded skull facing towards the camera. Probably a coincidence but creepy as a reaper.
Thank you for the posts Gentelmen - lovely as always. I wanted to air a grievance in general and it's not directly aimed at either of you two but that said - if the cap fits. We're asked to consider making donations if we want to help preserve and protect these old mines, which on the face of it, is a reasonable request, agreed? Okay my gripe is this - why are the majority of these sites entrances not even recorded on standard OS maps? Why am I denied what is clearly given freely to a select few? Why even bother preserving these sites if most of us are denied access to them and their locations kept secret? Vandalism is the standard response given when challenging the exclusive access policy protecting most of these wonderful places - really? How often do you find teenagers traversing along these dark wet flooded tunnels and caverns armed with a paint spray can?
Glad to see you start using ROVs. I too have a V6 and a Trident. For the past five years I have been piloting ROVs into some of the oldest mines in New England. I have been doing it for short documentaries Mike Sandone has been producing and we have made some incredible finds. Here is one of our recent dives. th-cam.com/video/qhJhv76J3m0/w-d-xo.html
Probably better off to practice in a few swimming pools, creeks, ponds and such before you wrap it up and lose it in those caves. Not sure learning to control it in the caves is a good idea, imo.
@@charleswright1075 ROV's like that cost a couple dollars. If he wants to risk it, let them swing. But don't keep apologizing for not being able to control it.
Ahh, yes, a true false floor. a false floor you can not see as they are wooden platforms covered with dirt and rock and look like earth. Most mine explorers call everything wood they can see as a false floor, which is false, if you can see the wood, its not a hazard, its when you can't see the hazard, thus the hazard of not knowing if you are on solid earth or wood covered with earth that could collapse. So, dear mine explorers, please stop calling everything wood a false floor. I hardy ever discover false floors, so that term should be hardy used.
We are listening to you so let us know what you think! Its a LONG video and a ROV video!
You guys are so knowledgeable.
Thank you ☺️
It’s the beginning of a beautiful thing. Think of the first time riding a bicycle. Or learning to tie your boot laces.
Thanks Al and Ioan. With the excitement of your first ROV adventure and footage, the 34 minutes passed very quickly for me. I was impressed by the camera quality from the ROV, hopefully you will be able to get some fantastic footage from future explorations.

They are fun to use for sure, sent it down a few shafts now seen amazing things, more footage to come .

Is that a ghost at 6:23 ??! That was wicked!!!
Da iawn, guys! My favourite channel just got even more interesting!
Loved the rov. Can't wait till more of it. Thanks for taking us with u
Extraordinary explore esp with ROV, great pictures of flooded artifacts found again. ❤😊
I have to say that, for a first-ever use of the ROV, you've done a marvelous job of navigating along the deep, dark tunnel. Well done!
The rov footage is great and with practice controlling it can only get batter. May be taking it to a flooded chamber in a slate mine would give you a chance to really test it out. Keep up the good work. God bless
They certainly are a handy piece of kit, from exploring flooded mines to exploring lakes. The world is your 🦞 lobster.
Rov is smart. And it’s sow cool Seeing things other wise lost forever

Amazing footage from the rov well done friends from Scotland
Good job for your first time ! You have a great Channel , lots of information and history. Thank you for taking the time to share it with us .
BOOM! Young ROV is an amazing addition to your channel! Loved that.
‘taking it to the next level’ pun intended, surely? Looks great. I’m always impressed by what the miners achieved working in the conditions they did.
Game changer,very interesting 👍
I can hear how much you were enjoying that walk to the rov site, you sound very jovial. 😁
Awesome guys!
good footage - those things take some practice to get used to - well done boys.
Great video Gentlemen! Glad to finally see footage of the long awaited ROV!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You'll have so much fun with that ROV guys. I'm really looking forward to more video as you get more accustomed to flying it. Well done.
That's Great!!! The submersible footage was great!!!!
This reminded me of early space exploration
well worth viewing gents, very well done, & the 1st go too! more please, I"m to off to practice my drone crashes, be easy after seeing this!
Good effort Al
Didn't see any fish...😂
amazing footage!
Absolutely loving the ROV footage! Even if you are learning to control it, its images are stunning!!!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it
What a great explore, the ROV was worth the wait..looking forward to future footage.
Excellent footage!! Imagine what several months of ROV experience will show. Looking forward to the next dive.
Can't wait!
theres a gypsum mine not too far away from my place , it goes down 3 miles underground ..
known as the brightling mine
Great explore and your flying will get better and better! Likely to find a body down at the bottom of one of the deep flooded mines! Look out!
I love how much knowledge you share about the ins an outs of this mine. Awesome video!
Absolutely love this channel I have to definitely come to wales again and explore some absolutely amazing caves and mines keep being wonderful guys
Great new toy, Ioan. Looking forward to more footage.
Amazing footage
Thanks for visiting
What a mine, so many levels and heap to explore.

Brilliant to see the ROV footage 👍
so cool

Clever idea taking an ROV into the mine.
Good footage from the ROV there. Probably best to roll in the umbilical as it's coming back up so you don't snag on anything.
Amazing! New places to explore!
Definitely!
It worked quite well! Thanks for all the great videos in 2021 and have a great Christmas!

Watched it in half speed to see for myself, quite a strange effect wasn't it. Well spotted you've got sharp eyes sir!
good job well done.
Good video .me and my son was the two camping in the woods .we went down the morning after
Keep up with the good video you now got a new subscriber
You had a great campsite going on, I bet it was cold in the morning.
@@LostMines no it wasn't cold .we had a good night rost duck it was a lot cold at Corris the next night
Cool footage guys!!
Great video fellas, thats and expensive tool you have, glad you didnt get the line wrapped around that support post
29:57 Kitty!
On the way back to the surface you can reel in the cable to help stop any tangles.
Really cool 👍 keep at it and you'll get better 🙏
RIP Titan you gave us so much
So good Lads! It's great you have added a further dimension to your already great chanel. Merry Xmas from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺⚒️⚒️
Happy new year
😲 Oh my goodness!
Great video lads👍keep the good work up
Thanks 👍
The ROV is opening up lost history for "Lost Mines". Very enjoyable!
You should definitely scuba dive this flooded level. You could spend a few hours down there. You wouldn't have a cable that gets caught or a short battery run time.
Some of the passages are pretty narrow to dive with the extra safety gear needed for cave diving 🤿

Man I love technology. ROV, internet, TH-cam..
I wanna go!
Without the video it would be interesting to see someone explain how you were piloting a submarine deep underground in a mine. Fascinating video.
you have had that rov for a bit. you could practice in a pool or creek or something. but good on you for trying...
Love your video! I think it is great that you're bring new technology to the field! Just one constructive criticism, maybe practice driving the rov in some open water like a lake or deep pond. That will make you master of the mines!
Have you ever tried lighting one of those found tallow candles?

What were the needles? Some sort of mineral?
Great video! Cheers! 🍻
6:20 ghost??
play it at 0.25 speed. i see two faces pretty clearly

points called switches underground.
How on earth does Ioan know where he is!?x
You could practice in a lake or in the sea.
The underwater footage is the best. Sooner or later your going to find a skeleton
Nice but can you do somthing about the sound when you are talking with the rov.
I remember getting wedged in a pothole when i was about 13 with the scouts. i honestly cant believe they used to let kids do crazy shit like that. there was water pissing down past me and i couldnt get a full breath cos my chest was wedged. these people are mental
enjoyed longer video 10 mins is not enough. would a laser pointer on the front help with controlling it
6:21 slow this bit down to 0.25 speed... It's probably the breath of the guy in front or something but if you stop video at just the right time, i shit you not that it looks like almost a hooded skull facing towards the camera. Probably a coincidence but creepy as a reaper.
At mark 6:21, was that a spirit that manifested right in front of the camera?
This is why cave divers pull in line because when water gets all stilted they can find their way out and not drown
