    No matter what the price is, if it has two pickups and a selector switch, it should work. The volume and tone should work. Both pickups should work. I have a Squier Affinity Tele, and it works great. Hopefully it's a simple wiring issue on this guitar only. Starcasters have been around for a long time. I hope the Squier version lives up to it's price.

      I completely agree, but being that I've already removed all of the electronics, it wasn't a big deal to me since I already got a deal on it. Had I not planned to mod the guitar, I absolutely would have returned it. Haven't heard any other people having the same issue with this guitar. Thanks for watching!

    I just purchased the TD blink neck from Luke. Hopefully it ships this week. Cant wait to see yours and hopefully get some tips on assembling my own once it arrives!

      Nice! I also got that neck from Luke in the 1st run he did...the quality of the neck blew me away. Updates coming soon, thanks for watching!

    2:20 I played a Hagstrom Viking (like an ES-335) for 25 years, and I “retired” it last year. What I like about this guitar at first glance compared to a “traditional” semi hollow is the Fender scale length, master volume and tone, volume located near the bridge, and a slightly smaller more comfortably shaped body. This guitar would be a contender for a replacement. I have been playing a Strat style guitar since and while there is much to appreciate about it, I miss the midrange and thump of the semi hollow for recording, and also the ability to noodle/practice/compose without plugging in.

      7:21 yeah that guitar has some ghosts in the wiring. I wonder what a correctly functioning unit sounds like. I had seen this guitar for sale before but I didn’t study the specs and this is the first review I have seen. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and share your experience!

      Nice! Its a very comfortable guitar to play, and its definitely a little smaller than a 335-style guitar. The headstock isn't a bad shape, its just not the traditional Fender shape I'm used to. Overall, I'd recommend this guitar, and Squier even has "higher end" models like the Classic Vibe and the Contemporary. Fender also made a reissue of the Starcaster a few years back, and they can be found used at a decent price. Thanks for watching!

      I didn't weigh the guitar, but I can tell you that it was definitely lighter than a 335...probably somewhere in between a 335 and a Strat. Thanks for watching!

    another guy that modded this on YT with a stratocaster neck said the intonation was abosolutely fine at 25.5 scale length. I would be curious to hear your further comments on this considering your assertions to the contrary in your video? thanks!

    • @BerscakCustomGuitars
      @BerscakCustomGuitars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Regardless of the guitar, if you add a shorter neck it will change the scale length slightly, and therefore could affect the intonation. Depending on the guitar, you may run out of adjustability in the saddles. It is very possible that a Strat neck is minimally shorter and may not affect the intonation or playability of this guitar, but it is possible, which is my point. Your mileage may vary. To avoid this issue, I've purchased a 22 fret non-overhang direct replacement neck for this guitar, which will be featured in future content. Thanks for watching!

    in another review viseo they say that the pick ups are too muddy. Isn’it?

    • @BerscakCustomGuitars
      @BerscakCustomGuitars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would categorize them as too fizzy, but I guess its a matter of opinion. Not bad for a beginner guitar or a mod platform though. Thanks for watching!

    What is the obsession with the bridge pick-up?

    • @BerscakCustomGuitars
      @BerscakCustomGuitars  ปีที่แล้ว

      No obsession...like I stated in the video, the neck pickup was not wired in correctly and was non-functional in this guitar. That being said, I do tend to prefer single pickup guitars anyway. Thanks for watching!
