    I was just using my HWF tools yesterday to carve some steps and engrave bricks and I would really love the power supply box as you mentioned it will allow me more control. Thank you Miriam 😊

    Thank you for this video Miriam. I can't believe how fast that hot knife cut through!!! I will definitely be investing in one of those! my cheap hot knife I purchased from Ebay was soooooo frustratingly slow and being my first hot knife I thought that was just how they were supposed to be. Now I know different, thank you😊

    Thank you for all your tips and creative ideas. Last year I went out of my way to use a corner of my living room for a Dickens Village display. My friends were mesmerized. It took a whole month to complete. This year I'm going to utilize my whole family room. I've watched over and over and no matter how hard I tried I fell short on the waterfall. That's really difficult. This year, with more space, I'm going to be even more creative with mirrors to create a skating pond. Anyhow, thank you for all your videos. They are great!

      Hello Lazaro,
      I’m so happy to hear you and your friends enjoyed your village last year. You must be putting a huge village together to take up your whole family room! That’s awesome! 😃
      Did you buy the “water effects” from woodland scenics for your waterfall? All you have to do is lay it out in lines and run toothpicks through it to add smaller lines. If it doesn’t dry in 24 hours, then wait 48 hours before pulling it up. It is so simple, I hope you can give it another try. By the way, make sure to put the realistic water on glass so it peels away easy.

    Hi Miriam. I think that it was very important for you to do this video. I too am going to invest into a set of hot tools from this company. I actually went through two Amazon orders of hot knives for my village. I know now that I may as well spend the money on Foam Factory tools than to keep wasting money on cheap Amazon dupes. By the time you keep ordering them you will have paid Foam Factory's prices anyway, and maybe more. I also did not like the fact that I had to stop working on my village until a new knife came from Amazon. Also, thanks for the demonstration. I totally trust your judgment on this product. I will be ordering from them very soon. That's nice of you to promote their products all on your own. I think they would really appreciate that Miriam. Thanks so much for sharing again sis 😘👍💕💕

      You are so very welcome! I knew I wasn't the only one going through hot knives like crazy. lol. And you are right, all of the money I spent on the 5 different hot knives over the years, I could have paid for 2 1/2 hot knives with Hot Wire Foam Factory.
      That happened to me too. One of my hot knives completely stopped working in the middle of a project. I had to wait 3 days before I could resume work once the new one arrived.
      We live and we learn, I just hope I am able to catch some people early who haven't purchased any tools yet and save them the money and headache.

    Love the video Miriam! I am definitely going to invest. I ordered from amazon as well. Only one tool worked. Amazon sent another box before I returned the one I had. In that box one tool worked. So I switched them out and sent the duds back lol. My only issue is that I wanted to carve a pathway but the lines were to wide with the engraver, unless I'm just not using it right. So you're tutorials is much needed. 🙏
    I noticed that pretty and very shiny trophy to the side there, whoot! Whoot! Congrats!!

      That stinks, so many of us are having the same issue with defective hot knives on Amazon. That is why I couldn’t wait to do this video on the tools. It such an important part of our process for building.
      Yes, Robin (a subscriber) sent me that trophy. It says “Queen of Christmas Villages”. A few other people noticed it too. You guys are good to notice that detail. 🤣
      I hadn’t planned on selling the branded shirts but I actually have had a few requests for them so maybe I should think about it. I just had them made so I would have standard gear to wear for my videos. I only have 3 of the same shirt so I do need to have more made.

    Great video Miriam for those on the fence regarding using a Hot Knife and how to control it. Love where you put your Trophy in the Blue room next to your Village! I also have a Hot Wire Foam Factory Knife kit from your recommendation in 2020 and have had no problems for 2 years now!
    Thank you very much to the "2021 Queen of Christmas Villages"! Question: do you have a method of keeping what you own for your villages from year to year, so not to repeat a purchase...as I did this year, DUHH?

      @MiriamsManner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I love my trophy. Michelle noticed it behind me too. 😂
      I haven’t yet had an issue with having too many pieces that I don’t remember. I do have 2 of some of the same things only because the kids wanted something I have in their village as well. Other than that, so far so good.
      Maybe you can try making an inventory list of all the items you own in alphabetical order. That way you can check your list before you make a purchase????

    ❓ Have you ever gotten an "accidental" idea while cutting through foam? For example, I was made mini cones out of poking through foam with a wooden stick. Now I use my cones for underground cave displays.

    • @MiriamsManner
      @MiriamsManner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I have totally done that before. My first set of retaining retaining walls I made years ago came from scrap pieces as I was cutting something else.
      The cones are a great idea. I really like that.

      Hey Anna,
      Yes, the tip on this really thin and nice to make cobblestones. I actually did it after I made this video. I like how the hit knife makes stones better than the actual engraver because the gaps are thinner.
