I got to extract the audio tracks related to the pursuit themes after some funky tinkering. Shout out to the people who made Frosty Editor and the EALayer3 tool.
Each level has 2 variations with 4 loops separate loops, all dynamically mixed in-game. The intro for the first level doesn't really exist. I just faded things out to build up tension.
Each level also has a set of cooldown themes. I decided not to have all of them play out in here and instead finish it off with just the one for level 5.
Edit: Two of the pursuit themes have been uploaded to Spotify and other streaming services. I've updated the timestamps now that I know their official names, but the rest have yet to surface officially.

Heat 1, despite having terribly low bpm for pursuits, goes hard
Ironically to me that should've been heat 5, that song just screams adrenaline and fear as if something horrible was unleashed, the synth also simulates an alarm/sirens so it fits perfectly with a high level chase.
I really like Heat 1 and 4 but they definitely misplaced the levels. 1 could've easily been 3 and 2 been 1, no idea what they're smoking when making these.
@@rokkudayo oh yeah, that switch you suggested makes way more sense than the current order. Great songs but no idea why they placed them like that, some fit better in higher heat compared to others.
You know? Maybe they should've just created many variations for a single song like Most Wanted did.

@@rokkudayo i originally noticed it when I got into my first Heat 2 chase in my mid B class Eclipse a few days before Qualifer 1 didn’t pay much attention to it cuz I had no idea how do deal with the Explorers in my slow B car at the time, I was more worried about my ass getting busted.

Heat 4 is brutal, love it.
even though these tracks don't sound as intense as most other NFS games' pursuit OSTs, they still carry that threatening feeling with them. to me, it sounds like you can't think straight whilst being chased by the law. like a cold, unforgiving, unstoppable force heading towards you with no escape

I love heat 5, even if it does sound like a game boy in a blender
if i was in charge of arranging these by heat levels, saharian dreams would be heat level 1, sphinx would be level 2, THEN heat 1's track would be level 3, and it would carry on as normal from there. heat level 1 has no business going as stupid as it does, maybe we'd add more instrumentation in the back to up the intensity as i feel like the simplicity of heat 1's track is what kept it down there. it's simple as hell but it KNOCKS. brodinski killed this OST regardless.
Gotta be the best pursuit music in NFS since Hot Pursuit (2010).

There was an extra theme in the files along with the other ones but I'm not sure if it plays in a special occasion or if it goes unused. Maybe I'll get it uploaded once I finish the game and find out what it is.
Extra theme? Interesting, I kept wondering if they ever thought of making heat levels go up to 6 so I wonder if that might have been what it was for
what was that extra theme you mentioned was? Was is being a mix of heat 5 level theme? if it is, then it's used in prologue of the game

The beginning of the heat 1 sound file makes it seem like we would've been able to pay off fines and such for that heat level.
I made up that intro by fading out some of the individual stems. I have no idea why they shipped it like that since the game never makes any reasonable use of the fact they are separated, at least not that I ever noticed, but it would've been cool if they faded some out in case you are in critical damage or something or, like you said, in case you could pay the initial fine like in 2015.
@@rokkudayo Considering ever game beforehand had the ability to pay a fine or bribe I'm pretty sure it's the latter.

Woah nice stuff! Everytime I tried to extract the audio from frosty the app just crashed, nice to see that you managed to make it work.
I only used Frosty to dump the chunks containing the songs. Frosty's new audio workspace is better than the old one but right now it isn't working properly with some files, and one of these files happened to be the pursuit theme. EALayer3 was spitting just a portion of the music as the developers decided to pack all the themes into one file and the software isn't aware of that, so I looked up for the first 16 bytes of the header and split the file based on that.
@@rokkudayo Hey, I tried extracting them myself the other day, and I was only getting drums tracks. As I know, a valid chunk of audio starts with "4800000C 16", so I managed to extract only 10 separate chunks from pursuit soundtrack file. Every file is around 15 mb, but I only get drums from here. I think those are multichannel audio files, right? If so, how can I convert them to .wav or any other appropriate format, so I can get actual tracks instead of just drum layers? ealayer3 that I have doesn't want to convert them into multichannel.
@@elaymm4 you gotta add an argument to ealayer3 when using it so it spits out all the parts. I think it was "-s all" but I'm not 100% sure.

Been Having The Audio Extraction Problem With Frosty Editor, I've Been Trying To Get A Sound Effect From Need For Speed Heat's Files (heal level up noise) hasn't worked and now I know why
this, carbon, and rockport filter combined makes nightmare fuel

Heat 4 is getting there, similar to Heat 1 but is at its best at 22:45 (Saharian Dreams)
Heat 5 is the BEST - reminded me immediately of MW2005 pursuit theme 2 and 3 combined.
Also, how do you export these from Frosty Editor? Trying to do the same but for Heat, but having trouble with EALayer3.
You should be able to just click on the Export button when opening a sound file into Frosty's audio workspace, but for Unbound I had to manually dump the chunks and convert them with EALayer3.

@@that1neblackteen yep you need the game itself. Also, make sure your Frosty Editor is on a lower version, apparently newer versions have issues with the music export
@@rosaria8384 I kinda agree and disagree with heat 2 being just bland, yeah at first I hated it because it didn’t fit in with the rest of the tracks. But after sitting down and actually listening to it, I gotta say that it’s not that bad. My only issue is that it takes a long time to get to the good part, but luckily the second variation fixes that. (Although I wish It was on spotify).

Nah I made 'em up lol, just wanted to have something else in the stamps. Should've made that clear but these don't have any names attached to them as far as I'm aware since there are no names stored in the chunk files.

I would love to but I have a bad habit of sometimes deleting stuff I won't use anymore and my build of Frosty stopped working after I uninstalled Visual Studio so yeah my bad.
Q: When you were extracting the files, was there a low speed, busted, and escaped sounds? I would love to hear those videos combined.
There were a bunch of "stings" in a separate file that I'm sure are used in those scenarios.

Heat 5 cooldown could've been a potential Heat 6 imo. It's slowed down like impending doom. Once you've made it to Heat 6, it's like you're a speeding dead man cause there's units more terrifying than the Heavies. And instead of couple of hits, you're possibly a two tap. A one tap if you're at half health.
but I wouldn't know what would come after Heavies. Army/Military tanks? Lol.
