For me, it reminds me of teenage dating, either first or second dates - and discovering there’s no chemistry … only mutual resentment! It has classic American rock sound (almost rockabilly, something the Smiths come back to again and again). His echoey, haunting vocals fit the songs mood aswell “I’ll never make that mistake again, Noooooooooo!’😂
I thought I knew this one when it started, but then I was not so sure... In fact, all the Smiths songs I know sound pretty much the same to me. It doesn’t hurt my ears, but I am not a fan of their sound or of Morrissey's voice and way of singing.
