- This historical ASMR Tarot Card reading in an Edwardian opium den is set just after the Boxer Rebellion at the turn of the century, languishing within a colonial Britain that is collapsing on itself due to hubris and gluttony. After hearing rumours about a disgraced former English Officer becoming bloated and inert on misappropriated riches he had stashed upon his return from the conflict in China, you decided it would be better to requisition this wealth for yourself, rather than let him squander it on chasing a dragon he’ll never catch. And so, you’ve travelled to one of the more hazardous parts of Soho where you hope to catch him high and unaware in order to steal his ill-gotten gains.
There are relaxing fizzing sounds, smoking sounds, as well as card shuffling and a soft-spoken tarot reading that will hopefully help you to rest and clear your head - but my gosh I can only apologise for the RIDICULOUS seagull activity. The external noise was bad enough and I tried my best to reduce it, but those sea cats would not STFU so I apologise profusely. Anyway, enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

If a had a nickel every time I saw Ephemeral Rift get mentioned outside his channel I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much but I'm glad it happened twice
Wish they would work together, Rift does a creative slow process and Jim has a sort of witty objetivity. Would make up for a good meme
Honestly i cant compare the two any more. Especially after his dogwater review of elden ring. Plus his triggers are a lot more lofi while jims are very cinematic.
Goodnight Moon's Babblebrook series is also very immersive and with it's own lore. A lot of care for the detail.
I would recommend you DrT ASMR and ATMOSPHERE.
Honestly I love this and I didn't mind the seagulls. There is a certain amount of background noise that actually helps one to envision a world even outside of the confines of the planned and portrayed setting. It helped me immerse more. 😁
My home was broken into on the third, suffered a violent assault haven't be able to relax or sleep since.
Clicked on the video and finally oh god thank you finally I started to relax, I just felt the anxiety wash away then finally must have fallen asleep thank you so so much, I thought I would go mad with sleep, every noise had me jolt but this helped me calm so much.

Awesome as always! I *love* the details, right down to the elongated pinky nail. I'm not too familiar with the Edwardian period of history, I get kind of fuzzy during the Commonwealth period and Restoration, so now I have a reason to study up on it 😊. I read tarot myself, though I am not very good at it. The deck I use is the Russian Tarot of St. Petersburg, beautiful artwork though it uses Coins instead of Pentacles. As for the Rider-Waite deck, we do not get along (understatement). I enjoyed the positive reading and the encouragement to embrace change, set goals and follow through. Once again, you seem to know what I need and deliver. Thank you, for the encouragement, the entertainment, and not shooting me in the face😊. As always, with permission lots of hugs 🤗🤗🤗

I kid you not, all the cards you drew speak to me, I am panicking about how im "getting into the adult life" and getting new desponsibilities and all (embrace change, not fear it - Death) and the one how things are happening beyond my control, and the reversed fool - i am very aware that I am doing absolutely nothing with my life as of now and it makes me insecure everyone else is on the move and all, and it really did help me, not only sleep, but it gave my great guidance

Tarot cards featured in this video are: Death, Fool reversed, Hanged Man reversed, 9 of Cups, Tower, Star, World, and Ace of Pentacles. Have you read The Castle of Crossed Destinies by Italo Calvino? The novel is written using tarot cards as a storytelling device.
