Another great video lads. I really want a copy of the Glass Harp lp, its a superb record. Just an awkward one to find here in the UK. Result on the Maypole... bargain! I have Shuggie's other two records but never had a sniff of that one...I live in hope! Cheers Nige
Hey boys. Oz Knozz is great, right up my alley. Morgen lp is essential. Glass Harp is a band from my hometown in Ohio. Birth Control is top shelf Krautrock. Affinity is one of my favorite albums. Shuggie Otis in a $1 bin is a crime. $5 for Maggot Brain is a bigger one. I have been looking for that Maypole for forever. 13th Floor Elevators wow! I scored many great psych lps at the 2 Zia Records in Las Vegas back in the day as well. Great video gentlemen. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊
Gotta say guys u certainly impressed me. I've been collecting vinyl and all physical media for decades and have not come across two guys the same age of my kids who have such rare cool finds. You two are off to a great start collecting, cool 😎 vid. I subbed
Damn ! I paid £150 a month ago for a US 1st press of Maggot Brain . Mind you it was unplayed , and the gatefold was in amazing condition . A very hard record to find here in the UK , a bit of a holy grail release really . I'm happy with the price I paid for it . Definitely a one off find .
Great stuff you guys always bring the heat 🔥Maypole is awesome I tried to get a copy of that in an auction but it went to high for me 💰💰Take care Brian ☮️
Easter Everywhere and Inspiration Information are two big wants of mine! You two did very well to get those. I had an OG UK copy of the Affinity record, but I sold it... to be honest, I didn't think much of it, really, but maybe I'm alone as that thing goes for some serious money. I wonder if I'd have a different opinion of it now if I'd held onto it.
Honestly I sorta agree with you on the affinity record. Imo, that record is sorta spotty. Some of the tracks are great tho imo. I have an og us press but I definitely have to give it another listen because it’s been close to a year since I’ve listened to it. I think a lot of the hype for it comes from the fact that it’s on vertigo but I may be wrong. The us pressings on paramount go for way less however so I was able to pick it up for pretty cheap. Anyways thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Maypole is excellent! The 2nd to the last track on side two "Dozy World" has the same riff as "Tightrope Ride" by the Doors. Different tempo though. Both tracks came out in 1971. I have not been able to determine which came first. I'm betting on the Doors though. At $30, you got a good deal. I paid a lot more for my copy.
Yeah it’s definitely one of my favorites in my collection at the moment! Also I never recognized that they used a similar riff to the doors on that track. I'll definitely have to compare those two back to back. Thanks for watching!
Sorry I am commenting on videos five months later... but I am curious about how many chances you give a record to grow on you. You mention (well, Sorin mentioned... but you agreed) not liking one of those at first but then slowly developing a deep appreciation for it. Maybe you all should do a video on 'acquired taste records'! :)
For me at least it honestly really depends on the record in question. If it is a record that a lot of other people talk about and like, I usually hold onto it for a good bit. If it's a rather obscure record that I could find later on I usually give it a another listen or two. It all really depends on the record, but that is a fantastic video idea! Thanks for watching! ✌️🏻
