I mentioned this to a colleague today, not electronics inclined but I'm repairing his Korg Minilogue for him, and he did a Google for Tom Evans and the first thing that popped up was Reddit discussing how they now appear to be a well dodgy company!😆🤣
Those shims are not card stock cut from a Cheerios box. The material carefully balances all elements to achieve the ultimate end result of design neutrality and total audio performance. The shims ensure your listening experience is presented with complete audio performance in mind, providing precision and lifelike clarity. Or something like that. Cheers, -Tom Evans
It's forbidden to say "do want to see my master groove?" After 11h pm. Well done video BTW. From a electronic technician to another, if I had 1 € each times someone told me "you won't be able to fix it" I would be rich. I bet you would be even richer. Well done 👍
Oh hey, you have also found this historic video and uploaded it! I found it a few days ago and uploaded it on my channel! Glad you could join the party 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Just watching this video all over again. Perhaps there are some differences with the other ones 🙂 Also just wondering what happened to the MkI and MkII versions..
Read up. They let you change out difference value components throughout the circuit to taylor it to exactly how you want it to sound. You might select between 2 capacitors on 1 switch and 2 different op amps on another and on and on and on.
Tom Evens has shown his so called high end pre amplifier to be a poor home build, I've seen far higher standards for a fraction of that ridiculous price
I would be so embarrassed if I owned a product made by Tom Evans. Imagine the "Audiophiles" who, after buying a Tom Evans product explained to friends, colleagues, and Family how amazing the product was. Now that "audience" will be thinking( asking) about how gullible that "audiophile" was(is). Now that Audiophile is in the position of defending the product( to justify paying GBP 25,000), not something you expect you will have to do after spending such money. In making that copyright strike Tom Evans has put all his previous customers in a socially embarrassing situation, and financial loss( due to substantially reduced resale value). Potentially new Customers will rightly direct their attention( and easily spent cash) to less controversial products. If it was the USA I could imagine past customers suing Tom Evans for the loss in resale value he has caused. Will we soon see one of these Preamps as a target for Scott at Kentucky ballistics?
Don't stop with this Tom Evans character. All, absolutely ALL (so called) high end audio is an even worse scam than some one off used car salesman. STOP BUYING THIS JUNK!!! Even if you're rich. Putting in extra quality components and ensuring an excellent build deserves to make more money, that's not the point. The point is that this stuff and ALL the other "high end" stuff is so disgracefully over priced that this actually hurts the economy. One of these days, and not far away, these financial institutions will crash (again) but the people will have had enough of being ripped off by having government bail them out. Enough, is enough, is enough. High end deserves to be paid well, but never to the point that it, along with all the other greed based pricing (like... pretty much everything else), literally is its own enemy and begging for mass consumer anger. Please, STOP buying electronics until they are brought down to fair pricing, not just to get a better deal, but for the sake of the economy. Can you imaging what would happen if everybody just stopped dead in their tracks and not pay their credit card's payments? Coming soon, to a country near you !!!
The Internet is gradually filling up with this video! 😄
It's amazing how many channels post this video when their own latest video is 5 or 10 years ago. Thank you for your support guys!
If you search for Tom Evans all you find now is reference to these videos.
Good!

Great job on re-uploading the video!
The more, the merrier.
This incident shows so clearly how YT doesn't side with the right side.
Thanks for re-uploading this video. I hope that Tom Evans never sells such junk for that price again.
The sign of top of the range audio equipment..card shims .. lovely stuff
I see a Marks video, I click and like. Streisand Effect is going to be replaced by the Evans Effect.

😂😂
My understanding is the paper shims are indicative of alien technology. I could be wrong.
I'm here to support Mark.
Tom Evans having a temper tantalum over this.
OMG,yes another one bites the dust ,enjoying the wave of this ,spreading the love to repair.
And the next one...
This amp is so expensive, because it took a long long time to sand all the IC's.
Tom Evans fought the internet and the internet won! 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶 😂
Love all the support Mark is deservedly getting.
Holy cow the entire electronic repair YT community got together on this one. lol
Like! And a comment for the algorithm to help it spread!

Those plastic stand-offs are $1 for 100 😂
Thx!

Do we know what the red dip switches were for?

@ interesting
Tom Evans should be absolutely embarrassed
Tom Evans is a w⚓

I'm gonna steal this, might help with not getting 24h bans on commenting ;)
And another one... 😂
The build quality is terrible. This thing looks like it was made by a hobbyist, not a 25k device.
All this hulabaloo over a preamp that is geared towards about 100 people in the entire world.
@@tomstawarski3873 the Streisand effect is working overtime... Tom Evans begged for it.
Sort of looks like a wonky heathkit build, shoved in a static electricity loving plexiglass box.
sadly, judging by the serial number of the unit Mark fixed, there have been 57 previous suckers scammed
It's not undeserved hulabaloo. It's called "standing up to a bully". We may not care about the pre-amp, but we all want justice to win.
Me thinks this Tom Evans Guy is going to wish he never said anything... this is bad press for his brand , and might kill it ...

I encourage you all to make it replay at twice the speed so that the YT algorithms kicked in, and do you other usual stuff at the same time.
I've got a few accounts....

I don't think we really need to see this video again, do we?
Why not try to make money generating some original content?
