Viet Thanh Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American professor and novelist. He is the Aerol Arnold Chair of English and Professor of English and American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California.
His new memoir is called A Man of Two Faces.

Very interesting interview. I have authored a memoir based on my religious experience along by background growing up in Vietnam and escaped on the boat at the age of 14 to come to America. I have a different perspective of America than Viet being a minor and placed in the foster care system. Thank you for the great insightful discussion.

Unless you want a deep sink into gratuitous violence, don’t read The Committed. Was a big fan of the sympathizer but the committed is just a lot of violence
