  • Welcome to Episode 1 of a new series where I push myself to speak up and share my thoughts more openly. Every week, I'll dive into the real, unfiltered thought processes that run through my mind-how they impact my progress, emotions, relationships, and the journey of creating this Vietnamese podcast. No holding back here, and I invite you to join me in doing the same. Let's keep it real together!

This is my 3rd show. The first is Ocean Vuong. It had been at least 26 years since Lane Nishikawa that I heard a Vietnamese voice that I think tell a bit of our story as we work and make our way. It is definitely and should be impactful. In the spirit of Ocean, it is not lost on me that your effort comes with wisdom and good intent. Now do tell your why in cinematic storytelling fashion. The why seals the deal. Much appreciated!

Thank you so much for what you do, man. I’ve learned so much from your channel about storytelling in general even though I’m not Vietnamese myself. I’ve just completed two years as an educational documentary filmmaker here in Wyoming and stories like yours keep me going as I start myself up. Much love ❤

hi anh Kenneth, i just want to say the poster of three seasons in the back, i watched it in college, probably more than a decade ago. I often listened to your podcast but never leave any comment. your interview with Viet Thanh Nguyen, Lan Duong and Ocean Vuong were among my favorite : )

Hi Gary, thank you for leaving these kind words. I’d been wanting to do a series of monologues talking to the camera for many years now. It’s been a struggle to look into the camera and just talk. Reading encouraging messages like yours hopefully will make the next episode to record a lot easier.
