    These videos make me want to rediscover the skill of soaking in my surroundings in games, too often it just becomes a mental checklist of things to get done for progression, lol.

      Doing the Video Game World Tour videos has kinda gotten me to slow down a bit more and appreciate things in games. It's something you have to consciously do at first, but it gets easier the more you do it.

    Your world tour videos are honestly some of my favourite content on all of TH-cam. This was a relaxing video to watch and play some Minecraft myself. I feel you got pretty lucky with the terrain generation you saw.

      I felt like I got lucky with the terrain too, but then again, I've never walked so far in a Minecraft world before. Every world has wild stuff that we never get to see.

    encountered a "snowy desert" before, and I believe it's actually a weirdly large beach in a biome that snows. snow weather can't occur on desert tiles, and cactus as well as dead bushes would be spawning.

    this made me remember when i first played minecraft like more than a decade ago the first thing i decided after making a base in the side of a hill, was to make long ass railway in one direction that went through any biome or mountain that i found
    it was before villages even so it wasn't that much to see, but nowadays it would be way more interesting

    • @PretzelYT
      @PretzelYT  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I kinda like that about early Minecraft. There wasn't nearly as much in the game as there is now, so players did random stuff just because they could. I still enjoy modern Minecraft, but I don't quite feel that sense of playfulness in it compared to older versions.

  • @street_356

    I saw this in my recomendations and was like: Huh? Who is this guy? Why am I subscribed to him?
    So I clicked the video and realize why I was suscribed. This was.... Amazing. Such a journey.
    I know the point of this was discovering vanilla minecraft but I couldn´t help it thinking about how would this travel look like if you have some kind of medieval texture pack... shaders or even weather/seasons mods.
    All I know is that it doesn´t matter how you do it. Once you choose to travel in minecraft it becomes a life experience.
    I´m so excited to buy minecraft :D
    If one day some company make some kind of super realistic VR headset or something like that and it has Minecraft.... Oh man. I never gonna left that thing.
    You´re awesome.
    Keep it up!!

    I'm a relatively experienced Minecraft walker (i also use boats on seas, but i'm still at your question, so idk if boats are in the rules of this video). Despite the premise, I have never counted how far I've gone... I'd say less than 100k blocks, but maybe more than 80k.
    In the past i used to go by foot on the overworld, but nowadays I've had enough of it, so I just don't play as much, but when I do I travel through the nether
    Edit: too many pets: you'll be lucky to reach 60k blocks away from 00

      i swear to christ that was a genuine guess that i made at the start of the video, i based it off the time i travelled to a woodland mansion i had the map for which was around 20,000 blocks away, it took me 2 hours travellign slightly diagonally but i had no animals to lug around and had a horse so i thought it would more or less even out, mutliply that by 5 which would make 100k blocks travelled in 10 hours

    Tbh 1.18 did the opposite for me, killed my interest in the game even though I'd been playing since the early Yogscast days. There's nothing in the new caves (no exposed ore or new structures. I don't count cities 'cause they don't spawn in Dripstone or Lush caves), you have to strip mine for diamonds now (I hate strip mining), there's too many massive cave entrances interrupting the scenery, and the biome grouping isn't as interesting. In 1.17, I have a seed where you spawn in a small plain and within view are a taiga/snow taiga with village, a flower forest, a river, a gravel mountain, a tundra expanse, a forest, and a jungle all connected to each other right at spawn. Since 1.18, biomes only generate near similar climates so no more interesting biome groupings like this exist anymore.
    Still, this was a cool relaxing walk through the game, kinda reminds me of some of what I love about this game. I guessed 20K blocks! Off by a lot but still closer! I didn't think you'd get very far with the animals.

    I'll try and do every little comment prompt you ask
    1. i have no idea how far you'll walk. I'm going with 839,413 blocks, give or take.
    2. I like to think creepers are made of plant like material, so i'm saying that the creeper formed under the mushroom. either from the mushroom's spores, some stray pile of leaves, or some other plant related event. also, i feel like they'd be named joseph or something.
    3. 50/50 either way. there's too many other factors to determine whether the donkey or the wolf wins. what environment are they in? what's the weather like outside? do they have past experiences with each other?

    20:50 using an iron sword, if you spamclick while running towards a creeper, you’ll be able to kill the creeper without briefly going away from it. It’s handy to know, as it makes it quite easy to kill a bunch of creepers without worrying that they’ll blow up in your face. (At least, on bedrock edition)

  • @ellasorellabrella
    @ellasorellabrella ปีที่แล้ว

    commenting my guess here: 14 million sounds way too much. it's 10 hours sure but you're not going to be going at a constant speed, you're going to be stopping for combat, resource gathering, sightseeing etc. i don't think i've ever gone more than a few thousand blocks out in a minecraft world on foot and even that feels like it takes a while. so i'm going to say... 50,000 blocks out.

    • @ellasorellabrella
      @ellasorellabrella ปีที่แล้ว

      in the middle of the video now and you've just revisited your guess, so i'm gonna revisit mine too. let's say you walk at a speed of 3 blocks per second, that sounds about right. i'm pretty sure that means you go 180 blocks per minute. 10 hours is 600 minutes, so that gives us an idea of the orders of magnitude we might be working with. constant walking in a straight line would get you... 108,000 blocks i think? so given the amount of time you spend doing stuff other than that, i feel pretty good about my initial guess, it may even be a little high.
