I support an orphanage in Uganda. I text daily with the young lady who runs it. She was left abandoned at 15 and is now 25. I’ve face timed with the kids of various ages on what’s app. For my birthday they sent me a beautiful shirt and a painting a Ugandan artist made after I sent them a photo of my wife and I. The country had corrupt government but many of its people are wonderful. I love this song
When we recommend one of these songs, or one of these groups, it's because we know that you'll be heading down a marvelous rabbit hole. What I really. like about your reactions is that you are interested not only in the singer or the group but also the words and what they mean. Around 80% of the music of my youth was really special. The rest was just 'shrug shoulders'.
One of my favorite songs by this group. Toto started in the late 70's & has been performing for over 40 years now. They mix all types of genres in their sound. They have had some great hits such as "Rosanna", "I'll Supply The Love", "Georgy Porgy", "99", "Make Believe", "Stranger In Town", "Hold The Line", "I'll Be Over You", "Without Your Love", "Stop Loving You", "Pamela" etc.
Great reaction! From when I first heard this song when it first came out I got hooked. This is my all-time favourite song. If you listen to the album version the bass continues playing for quite a bit longer. I'm a writer too so I get it!
@@isebmazo2140I used to watch quite a few reactors but now I have two or three I like. I mostly watch Saeed"s channel now. He puts out a lot of content and I don't have time for much more.
A recommendation of an artist I had never heard of, Marcus Nand "Make a little time" from a channel called Sound Check who features fairly new artists that have a retro sound. Some really great new but classic sounding music on there, great to see there's a revival of that era of music.
“I know that I must do what’s right As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti”. I’ve been there and Kilimanjaro is not in Serengeti. It’s actually 400 km away and you cannot even see it when you’re in Serengeti. Jeff Porcaro who wrote the lyrics admitted that he never had been to Africa and just took a chance writing it😅
A number of years ago I felt the desire to shake up my life. I decided I needed a long trip. I was considering my options when this song came on the radio. Decision made. I left the US and I have been living in Tanzania for the past 17 years now. For me it was a great decision that I never regretted. I have a great view of Mt Kilimanjaro from my front verandah.
Hiya' Saeed! I think you'll love the library this is filmed in, it's pretty awesome! Also the giant books are great! I'm hoping that you notice the piece of ripped paper in his hand that he searches through all the books to find where it was ripped from! Which he does! But you didn't say anything so I guess you missed it! It happens!
With your love for stories in song lyrics, you need to listen to their song "Mushanga." Truly awesome song that isn't as well known as the others by them that you've already reacted to,
"Rosanna" and "Hold The Line" - two other songs of theirs that you won't be disappointed with! For another Africa themed song but totally different style of music, check out "deadmau5 feat. Chris James - The Veldt". It's based on a short story of the same name by Ray Bradbury - if you haven't read it, do so! Given it was written back in 1950, it's a bit prophetic about technology. *edit: I'm a bit torn whether to say read the story or listen to the song first! If first you listen to the song, I bet you'll need to listen to it again after reading the story!
Now you need to check out Leo Moracchioli's version. He is a Norwegian multi instrumentalist. He metals all sorts of songs up with some really fun twists. Always get a laugh out of Leo 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Always play Leo's song to the very end. He is known for his awesome outros 😂😂😂
This song had become a little 'too iconic' for me, so I usually skip the reactions to it. But today I clicked on your reaction and wasn't disappointed. It was like a fresh acquaintance for me, hearing your take on it. My favorite is their far lesser known 'Mushanga', which you can regard in some way as a revisit of Africa. That one has a fantastic groove due to the masterful musicianship on it.
TOTO was a group made up of session musicians. That's why their sound is so incredible. Also Rosanna, another hit of theirs is great! Thanks! 😊 👍 ❤
Such a great song! I have recorded a few other reactions to their music, but they are blocked.
@@SaeedReacts. Bummer!
I love Toto! Roseanna was my favorite from the beginning.
I recorded a reaction to that song as well! It was blocked so hope to get that resolved soon

One of my favorite Non-Beatle albums of all time is TOTO IV. It is so full of great songs which became big hits.
Great band, & ''Pamela'' is also a favourite song.
Their voices blend SO wonderfully.
"I'll be over you" is my favorite song by Toto.

I never considered that this woman he’s singing about is actually Africa. I think I’m going to take your take.
It might be a double meaning. Amazing song. Thanks for watching.
The official video of "Hold the Line" is a great Toto song to react to. Don't know them that well except for these two songs

The members of TOTO have a combined discography of 3000 songs...from Boz Skaggs to Michael Jackson..,Check out Georgy Porgy...
