I've found that if you have groups of no more than 4 gyros, they will fire far more consistently on the enemy forces. It's also a lot easier to surround enemy forces when you have 4 groups of 4 gyros.
One thing I've noticed after the latest patch is that if I give a manual targeting order to my ranged infantry and war machines it will advance until the target is at about the halfway point of its weapon range before they fire. If they're left to shoot on their own, they might use the full range to fire, but only if the janky LOS lets them.
dont worry though. ca is taking the mountains of easy cash from the paradox style dlc drip that they wont even attempt to fix that. thw executives will get a nice bonus though.... i bought ta remastered. never spending money on a ca product again. ill get them. just not purchase then
Yes it has been this way for ages, its because alone they target individual entities within a unit but if you click they attempt to target the entire unit before selecting an entity target. That and spam clicking and constantly repositioning is why Legend has so many issues with ranged units.
For the movement assistance bug of the engineer, I have found out that whatever you do the game still uses the stats of the lower-quality one after a while It means that even if you level up the higher one later than the lower one or better pull out the higher one from the army and reinsert him into the army again to reassign his ability over the other duplicated one still doesn't work in the long run, it lasts only till you push the end turn I tested this and no matter what you do the lower value always replaced the higher values which so weired This is not limited to movement it applies to all hero assistance abilities that get a duplicate in the army And the worst situation is when you play as Skaven and you put an assassin and a pack master into your army If you pick the ability in the pack master skill line that gives him increased replenishment, his 12% replenishment will always replace the higher 20% replenishment of the Assassin This is just so hilarious This bug has been in the game since the dawn of WH1 and I don't know why CA does not fix this
Norsca's ridiculous spear throwers aren't really a problem because they get shot up by the gyrocopters or thunderbargs before they can throw their first spears.
yeah thats weird thing about Malakai's quest items. theyre not automatically equipped after the battle even if the the slot is empty which took me a battle to notice
There's definitely an issues with ranged units or gyros specifically not shooting. Done two Malakai and 1 Grombindal campaign and noticed a lot of issues with them not shooting. Definitely needs a bit more baby sitting
When using a lot of copters it can actually be harder to use them because they will shoot each other and get in each other's way making them not want to shoot. You want to keep them in as much of a neat formation as possible or else they stop functioning.

Just a note that I noticed while using gyros is they have fire while moving attribute and most likely the reason why you feel like they are not shooting is because: a) They shot recently while you were moving them around ( or towards a certain target. They shot while they were on the move then lined up for firing and then stood there because reload timer didn't expire yet) b) Giving attack command to that many gyros at once most of the time they end up grouping up and each of them just blocking the other's shot. You saw that one of the units got shot, even though ranged units barely got into the battlefield and they weren't even in range. I suspect they hit eachother. It happened quite a lot in my playthroughs at first. I'm almost certain this happens because of what I said and also something along they used to have 4 models and now they have 12 and they don't check for line of sight on shots.

I've found gyrocopters start derping when there are several units next to each other. They just don't shoot unless you shuffle them around. Maybe their friendly fire detection is bugged somehow. Brimstones seem to work more reliably.
The missile units not firing seems to be related to fire while moving; it affects shadow warriors, waywatchers etc pretty badly as well as gyrocopters.
Surely the person doing this campaign would just start again with all the knowledge of what not to do. Although it was an interesting battle to watch it seems a bit pointless to fix a campaign that will ultimately not get played to fruition. Cant even learn much from the campaign mistakes because everything was a mistake xD great video regardless of course just seems like this one might have been manufactured to be a bad battle
Can confirm the bug with missile units stop working when there are alot of entities. Am playing a empire game and at turn 210 so everyone has alot of armies, I tend to find if I'm on the attack they tend to work ok but if I'm defending they will bug out alot to the point neither my artillery or guns will fire even when ordered directly
I believe the reason you have problems with ranged units acting weird, however many entities was on the map, is that you use skirmish mode. Attack orders with skirmish mode is F***ed.
The way ranges units work now feels so awkward and just.. terrible. I have to use a mod to make sure they stay grounded and won't awkwardly turn just to attack another unit within range.
Gyrocopters are better units to stack in one army, but gyrobomber is a better support unit to add 1-2 of to a regular dwarf army. Gyrobomber bombs are much better,
In this case, if your ammunition is a problem, you could also attack before the end turn to weaken them and then withdraw, and then let them attack you again over the end turn, right? Ofc, maybe less interesting than this video, but for your own campaign that is a valid option imo.

I'm still unsure as to how to build up the Spirit of Grugni for maximal efficiency. Should I take more recruitment slots first? Growth? or how long it stays in battle? I usually tend to save up my pop surplus so I can start churning out better units as fast as I can, but something tells me there's a better way.
Feel free to ignore me but I like to get the growth building first to really rush the growth, then when I get another 3 growth I’ll get the spirit of grungi upgrade building. After that I think whatever is fine.
@@gir1573 Thanks for the answer. I don't have that much experience playing TWW3, since I played about 100hours in the span of two years, so every bit of advice helps a lot. This seems like a really solid strategy, more longterm than mine, since I always felt like someone's going to attack me and I would be unable to beef up my armies to mount a counter attack as quickly as with the extra slot. I’d say kind of similar to gir1573. Growth building first, then spirit of grungni upgrades, then campaign movement upgrades, then the other “infrastructure” upgrades, then the recruitment upgrades. Imo recruiting from malakai’s camp isn’t all that useful. Early game you’re close enough to your capital to justify recruiting your armies from there. If you need an emergency stack, you’ve got grudge settlers, RoR, and adventure units. And in the mid-late game, it becomes much faster to globally recruit than it does to use malakai.

By the way, I'm quite happy to say that I managed to get the campaign rolling and it's going great, I'm fielding 3 quite decent armies, built walls and money buildings in every settlement and I'm duking it out with Archaon, nothing my organ guns couldn't deal with. It's so much fun :D
I couldnt complete my Malakai long victory, last skaven adventure battle was bugged for me, after victory it didnt want to check as complete, had done everything but this stayed as 6/7 :( got really pissed because it took me "few" hours

Brother have you played the dwarfs at all on the most recent dlc? Gyros are not just a support unit. They can pretty consistently get the highest damage value out of any unit in a regular army, and a spam of them is absolutely viable. Though it’s best to take some trollhammer torpedoes and possibly gyrobombers in it as well.
If its just a test campaign where you arent tryharding....why send it in? Just start a new campaign where you actually do well and use mechanics. I smell a liar....an embarrassed liar.
This franchise has fallen to abysmal depths. These games are quite literally pay to win now - and not cheap P2W either. Every update if you don't buy the DLC you're forced to sit there and suffer as the AI recruits the new OP power creep units. For contrast, although Paradox DLC is expensive they at least don't shove it in your face - the AI gets only the enabled units, and in a multiplayer campaign EVERYONE has access to the host's DLC. To say nothing of multiplayer battles, where it's even clearer. When you add something as strong as a thunderbarge to multiplayer and gate it behind a $9 paywall, I don't see how you escape the pay to win allegations. I suppose they don't - they just think it's ok. And apparently it is ok, because you all keep buying it. This company is a dumpster fire and if their games weren't so unique they'd have been run out of business years ago. I have nothing good to say about them at all.
Paradox is a huge piece of shit as bad as CA. They release the absolute minimum effort unfinished trash products built for maximum mod friendliness so the community will finish their game for them.

You can also switch it by re-attaching the hero you want the bonus from, although that will use up movement points.

Brimstone copters only getting 15 ammunition, while regular ones get 60+, is a grudgin!
There's something about when people say they don't tryhard, they tend to be on the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to trying at all.

When you add something as strong as a thunderbarge to multiplayer and gate it behind a $9 paywall, I don't see how you escape the pay to win allegations. I suppose they don't - they just think it's ok. And apparently it is ok, because you all keep buying it.
This company is a dumpster fire and if their games weren't so unique they'd have been run out of business years ago. I have nothing good to say about them at all.
Paradox is a huge piece of shit as bad as CA. They release the absolute minimum effort unfinished trash products built for maximum mod friendliness so the community will finish their game for them.
