    Wish I could feed that way, just too much snow here.....Spent a winter on a ranch in Montana 40 years ago when small squares were still the thing and round balers were just starting. Use to bungy cord the steering wheel and lock the hand clutch in, jump back on the wagon, cut twine and kick hay off the side..... Thanks for posting, brought back a lot of good memories......

    Hi, Bud. Nice scenery there.
    (I live 2 1/2 hours north of you; Alberta, Canada; same landscape).
    When you can afford it, a nice hydraulic bale deck
    put onto your truck is sure handy to self-load and unload/roll-out
    your hay, tractor flat tires, whatever. Nice well-fed livestock!

      Thanks for watching! My goal at the moment is to save for a bigger tractor and bale processor. Land prices are crazy here still too .

    Dude….it could’ve been a great video. But wasn’t! Next time, try talking through what your doing and maybe have a little ending. Also, you might want to let the ol’ tractor warm up a little before revving it right up from freezing cold and gettin straight to it. Just saying…..

    • @OHalloranCattle
      @OHalloranCattle  ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate the feed back. To be honest I didn’t talk during the video because I didn’t think anyone was going to see it. Just trying to get the recording and editing down. As for the tractor I did let it idle for 15 minutes before using it I just cut that part out. Thanks for watching hope to improve soon.

    That was one of the most boring videos I’ve ever seen. Was waiting for it to get better but it never did. Also don’t understand why you don’t get round bale feeders and just put a bale out for your cattle.

    • @OHalloranCattle
      @OHalloranCattle  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the input. I’ll explain why I chose not to use bale rings in the next video.

      Sometimes farmers feed in the wintertime on cropland and don't want manure piles around the feeder that they have to try and deal with in the spring. If you are feeding on hay fields the last thing you want is a pile of packed manure and hay that kills out the grass. If you spread it out they spread their own manure similar to grazing eliminating the piles. I'm not a rancher but I raised cattle most of my life as a farmer.
