    Helpful but also somewhat disappointing that there is no facility to display 'one eye' on the main screen. Not sure of MSFS are going to work on this in the future(?).

      @@theVRpilot worked perfectly and I have done a couple of livestreams. You saved me a lot of time with this video, big thanks! I also use the same method to record other VR videos, so very useful indeed. MSFS was rock solid but after Sim Update VI I am experiencing random crashes and instability when Livestreaming. Have you heard anything about SIM UD 6 issues or experienced anything yourself? I like the 3rd party fighter jets, and the stability seems somewhat better with the "built-in" planes.

    Good job. I use quest 2 flying and recording my msfs2020 videos. But i would like to improve their quality. For recording I use OBS Studio + Oculus mirror. Not sure it is the best choice. What could you suggest? You mentioned you are going to make a video about recording in quest 2 but i did not find it. please could you give a link?

      @theVRpilot  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, try to go into MSFS enable VR in the game and go back to see if it pops up.
      What do you see in the headset? Is the headset showing proper VR ?

      Sorry for the late reply. I use OBS. I do not have videos on it specifically but others might on youtube as it is free and popular. Do a few test stream and learn as you go. Have fun with it and dont stress it. There is a small but often sharp learning curve when creating content.

    • @theVRpilot
      @theVRpilot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Hope the skies are treating you well.
      I suggest to exit VR and do a normal screen shot. I use WIN key + Print screen, and it sends the screen shot to your picture folder.
      Thats how I do all my screen shots and if you look at my video thumbnails that is how I take them, and then I obviously edit the thumbnails.

    I use the obs plug-in open VR. That allows you to select view only right or left eye. That way it does away with the binocular vision. For some reason though I can not get OBS to record MSFS2020. Every thing else records fine in VR. Also WMR is kinda wonky when it comes to switching to desktop clicking non VR apps well running a VR game.

    • @theVRpilot
      @theVRpilot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, OPENVR hasn’t been updated in a long time, LAST time I used it. It was so good a year or more ago in XP11, but XP11 did an update and broke the functionality of it i think.
      I dont think I had luck with the flight sim games I wanted to record. It does good with other titles.
      Recording Flight sim VR is a challenge.
      Check the video after this which is how i record it it in HD.
      How are your videos now? Any luck?

    Hi Jose,
    thank you very much your help, now I'm able to record my vr gameplay by using OBS (however the newest version is a bit different than yours but I found all settings).
    But unfortunately my recorded gameplay is a crap. It is like a 240p video, a lots of pixels everywhere and tearing like 10 fps. Don't you know what could be the problem? I set everything as you showed in this tutorial (bitrate, nvidia codec, ms2020exe, etc.) 9700k , 1080ti
    Thanks!

    i run a ryzen 9 5950x, 6900xt, 64 gig and 2 .m2 SSDs and i cannot record with OBS. it works at first for some seconds and gets laggier and laggier till still standing frame. the part i didn't get in your tutorial was the zoom in to full screen. i have to use Transform there. i dont know what i am doing wrong.

    Hi Jose could you help me? I record flights with OBS following your suggestions. Why in the headset the immages are perfects, fluid, beautiful instead in the recording file are flickering. For VR I use HP Reverb; I dont Think It's a problem of Reverb but of OBS settings. Something heppened because in the first time everything was OK

    Great video Jose, I am trying to set up my recording as you demonstrate, but I am stuck at one point. You resize the binocular view by grabbing the window handles, and resize so only the right eye is visible. My binoculars are full screen, no handles to grab. Am I missing something?

    • @theVRpilot
      @theVRpilot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Barry, so make sure that the correct window is selected first.
      You can have multiple “layers” so to speak.
      So when you add the source, make sure it’s high lighted at the bottom and then it should show the edge of it.
      Alternatively you can click on the display area in obs and cycle through items you have on the display.
      Hope that helps, let me know, if not I’ll make a short video and link it here explaining how in a bit. Let me know.

    Please what? the picture quality is terrible! I would never stream that!!!! The OpenVR plugin would be the best solution. Makes me stream DCS in VR in extremly good resolution. Unfortunatly i dont get it to work with Microsoft 'Autopilot' Simulator 2020

    • @theVRpilot
      @theVRpilot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You speak without knowing. Open VR plug-in was broken after sim update 5, lately, it might be better.
      If you found better ways feel free to do that.
      Also msfs VR is infinitely harder to run and stream than other pc VR title.

    HOW TO INCREASE QUALITY: quadruple youre dektop resolution with nvidia DSR (4x) , then start MSFS and maximize Window, then adjust recording area in OBS.
    BUT: Since OBS has big impact on performance for me, I use Bandicam. Here is my high Quality method with bandicam:
