      That hits hard even from the perspective of a protagonist whose subjective time has only elapsed some 2 odd years. But from the perspective of Murph, it took 25 years to figure out that he was her ghost, and another 60 years for him to come back out of the tesseract. That's a long time to hold onto the hope that their dad keeps his promise, without knowing if he comes back.

      The funny thing is Interstellar got me the first time I saw it then never again but the last guardian didn't but has every time since lol I think I was just so invested in what was happening I couldn't allow myself to get emotional as if it all depended on me lol without that pressure or concern though it kills me every time. Now it’s my favorite for all of those reasons in addition to the profound lessons and meanings I can take from it as an adult. It’s spectacular in every sense and its themes and messages about love and the importance of love being a driving force in our lives, is one that I’m grateful to think about often because of that movie. My goodness, that is the way movies, not just interstellar, should be experienced. Since having kids and the pandemic I've fallen out of love with the theater, but this really reignited the spark. The whole theater laughed together (mostly TARS) and cried together, and you could feel the tension during the launch and wormhole scenes. Walked out of Lincoln Square 3 weeks ago seeing it in 70MM in tears. Being able to see this masterpiece in IMAX 70MM was the surreal experience I never thought I'd be able to experience. This movie is literally the most memorable film I've seen in time.

    One of the best moments in any movie, is when Cooper has to redock to the Endurance, and Brandt says it's impossible and Cooper just goes "No, it's necessary." It gives me chills every time 👏

    It's a fun coincidence that Matthew is in both Contact and Interstellar because Kip Thorne consulted on both of them and was good friends with Carl Sagan (who wrote Contact). Interstellar was originally going to be directed by Steven Spielberg many years earlier, but the project fell through until Nolan's brother brought him on the project.

    • @HugoStiglitz88
      @HugoStiglitz88 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      What? That doesn't make sense. Interstellar was written by the Nolans so why would Spielberg direct it?

    • @tronam
      @tronam 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@HugoStiglitz88 The history behind many film productions often includes changing hands multiple times before actual shooting ever begins. The original treatment by Thorne didn't include either of the Nolans until Spielberg became interested in the project, after which they hired Jonathan to develop it into a full screenplay. It wasn't until Spielberg opted out of directing and left Paramount that they offered it to Christopher who then helped expand it further into what it finally became.

    As a parent, I ask myself this ALL THE TIME. My Dad was a man who chased his dreams away from us. He succeeded(although he was NEVER home) but I always promised myself I wouldn't put my career above my children. It's a very difficult promise to keep.

    I've always been fascinated with outer space travel with the theories of time travel, blackholes, wormholes, etc. I can't believe I've never watched this movie til this day. This movie hits all the right spots and also while having the natural human instinct of what a father needs to do to ensure their family is safe. Cooper never wanted to be the guy that wanted to be Earth's "Hero" or "Savior" and never even said to his daughter when he left that's what he was going to do. He was ultimately doing this for his family and with the "Love" that we humans is just another powerful force we're probably only capable of

    Dark Knight in IMAX on opening day was a once in a lifetime moment. I was a teenager then. Seeing Interstellar as a father with hundreds of other fans for the 10th anniversary topped that moment. I’m going to tell my daughter about it. Everything I do I do for her. You will regret not seeing it in IMAX if you haven’t yet. Run, don’t walk and go before it disappears until who knows when.

    i went and saw it 2 times this weekend. first with my dad who is on the same page as me (that page being its one of the best, if not the best, movies of all time). the second time we went with my mom and some family friends, and they all complained about how long and boring it was. i got so worked up over the fact that they just didn’t get it that i began sobbing in the back seat on the way home while trying to explain to my mom the significance and emotion cooper and murphy reuniting had. some people just don’t get it and i feel eternally sorry for them.
