  • DIY Project from Plywood. Mix of Half inch and 3 quarter inch boards. Made completely out of salvaged boards. In a fresh board, we might need approx 1.5 sheets of both half inch and 3/4 inch boards.

      vravi88 I used materials from my scrap bin and old salvaged boards. But if bought now it might cost approx 4-5k

    what thickness is the mattress? is it for a little girl and what is the weight limitations? you could have used either 2x6 or 2x8 lumber,right- but it is a good idea.

      Lakshmi Jay thanks. Currently I am using a 6” thick mattress. This is ideal for adult and yes children also but, for children might need to add some safety feature to avoid roll over. As far as weight load is concerned, I have not checked the limit but have had close to 140kg sleeping on this over a whole weeks time. Since this was built during the 1st lockdown, I had to manage with what cut off I had, so no 2 bys

    How much did this cost you including labour pls ?

      In Indian rupees it cost me approx 2300 for the complete build. Can’t include labour as this was a DIY project.
