  • In this lesson Paul establishes the main argument of his letter to the Galatians, that spiritual blessings have always been obtained through a system of faith and not through a system of merit. (Galatians 3:6-22)

Yes! the Spirit of the One who did it is given to empower us to do it, too!
and yes, the Covenant cannot be 'undone'!
But, NO! not 'Judaism' which is based on 'oral law'/Pharisaical ordinances! That was the perversion that caused them to reject Him. It was the House of Judah, line of David that made them 'His own'.
The 10 commandments ARE the Covenant - the blood sacrifice and perverted 'oral laws' are what was 'added' because of transgression (breaking the covenant!) and does not nullify the promise in the Covenant commandments. Yes, Abraham kept these basic 'Laws of Life/Love/Liberty' and by the FAITH that he showed in doing so, was chosen to receive the promise - and so do we (receive the promise through faith evidenced by living out the covenant commandments).
Great teaching series, thank you! I will look for more...

Galatians 5:11 but I (Paul) ,brethren , if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted ? Paul preached the law, even circumcision .
Genesis 26:4,5. ....all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; BECAUSE Abraham obeyed Me and kept my charge, My commandments, My statutes and My laws. FAITH is action not head knowledge .

You are free to continue under the Law if you so desire. However, using Galatians 5:11 as support for your view is incorrect since Paul was not teaching circumcision here. He was confronting Judaizers who were, at that time, teaching that Gentiles needed to be circumcised if they wanted to become Christians (their argument being that since Jesus was a Jew one needed to obey this Jewish custom in order to become a disciple). Part of their argument was the same as yours today...that even Paul taught this. In his response Paul denounces these teachers and teaching about circumcision and argues that if he did indeed teach the necessity of circumcision, why was he being persecuted by the Jews who followed, attacked and tried to discredit him throughout his ministry career.

You are right Paul was confronting the Judaizers. They were teaching circumcision was necessary for salvation, nowhere does the law teach that, it was a sign of the covenant. All of Galatians is about two laws that's why Paul states that the law sets you free from the law. One law is from God the other is from man. The very definition of Truth is the Torah Ps 119:142 . The Truth shall set you free is referring to the law and the law maker, you can not separate the two.
      Thanks for responding
