- Crafter Camper Build: Ep2 Body Work, Rust, Raptor Paint and Sealing Plastics.
In this video we are covering body work, treating rust, painting the van with raptor liner and sealing up the plastic side trims.
In this build series we will be covering how to convert a standard panel van into a fully off grid camper. Each part of the build i.e. plumbing, electrical, furniture building and installation of skylights and windows will be broken up into its own dedicated video.

Raptor is great stuff, you can even thin it with 2k thinners and spray it smooth with a hvlp gun. Ive successfully thinned it 30% and used it to spray van dashboards, factory look and extremely durable still
G'day mate it's Ped...mad that you're doing this...I've been a subscriber of Livin' the van life & slimpotatohead for ages and while looking through their channels you came up as a recommendation! Something I've always wanted to do but with VW T2 or similar. Good luck on the project , it looks like it's in good hands. If you get stuck on any electricals give us a shout I'll help you out FOC of course :)

We originally thought about converting a t4 but realised we would like the extra space for a toilet etc.

Thank you, having the workshop for jobs like this is a godsend but sadly once the maxifan and skylight has been fitted I doubt it’ll fit through the roller shutter :( We’re currently in the process of finding a friendly farmer who would rent out a barn or something too is for a couple of weeks for the next round of raptor 👌🏻
Our next video should be out in the next couple of days, the van now had windows and extension pods fitted 😁

Great Video - I have a question which I hope someone can answer for me; I'm planning to Raptor Liner my 2016 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500 170 - Is there any reason you can't clean the body then cover the holes (@16:30 in the video) with a self adhesive vinyl circular patch then cover that in the Raptor bed liner paint? Great work lads - keep it up!!
Quick question. When raptor painting the plastic trims and bumpers do you have to plastic primer them or is just a case or sand them clean them and raptor them. Thankyou
