I ordered a Swytch kit in September and they will get back to me in February. Long wait but I'm anxious to get it. I found this video to be very helpful in hitting just the right questions I have about the kit. Thanks

Very helpful information. I am considering this kit specifically to make the hills a bit easier.

Love the area where you live, not much traffic and beautiful.
Did the Swytch struggle to go up those hills? I am interested in purchasing one but the hills near me are much steeper than your hills. I want to be able to use it for trails and hills.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the comment. The hill in this video is steeper than it appears, however if your hills are longer or steeper you might need a more powerful motor. There is no way the Swytch motor would pull me (I’m about 185 pounds) to the top of the hill featured here without me pedaling, and I did have to put in some effort. That being said, on the typical hills around here at the highest assist level I easily pass younger, more serious cyclists on much lighter and more expensive bicycles with little effort - it’s like cheating. The bottom line is if you’re willing to pedal and put in some effort it feels like it basically doubles your output, just remember that it is an assist system and not meant to be the primary drive. Watch for a Sur Ron X review and comparison (which I know isn’t fair but should be interesting) coming up soon. Thank you again for watching.

Your bikes basically 2 wheel drive now so go thought sand and see how it feels

I'm assuming you're in the US.
How many months did it take for your Swytch kit to arrive? Thanks

Yes, I'm in the US. I ordered 2 kits at the same time, one took about 3.5 months and the other took about 5 if I remember correctly.

Do you have a throttle on this.
My wife has a swytch with no throttle and we're thinking about adding one to get up hills but swytch tell me it won't help as it is limited by the power mode setting. Is that true? I was hoping that the throttle would ignore the power mode and give you extra assistance.

I do have the thumb throttle but it is limited by the power setting. I will be doing a video on the throttle and the power settings soon, none of that is documented well by Swytch.

I bought I throttle for my girlfriend with hills in mind but it is terrible. It doesn't have enough power to for even gentle hills. I'm pretty frustrated by it.

@@Chris_Does_Everything when you say 'limited by the power mode setting' is that the 1 to 5 assistant power that you can select? Swytch have told me that the throttle always used max power.

@@dellybeanhead it seems to me that it’s limited by whatever pedal assist mode you are in, and I seem to get the same effect when riding. For example, on flat ground in assist mode 2 If I turn the thumb throttle all the way on and stop pedaling I don’t go very fast. In assist mode 5 it seems to go faster. I think some of the older kits had an option that would allow it to work that way but this one doesn’t seem to. I’d do more testing but somewhere during my thumb throttle test video the wire clip that holds the crank sensor came off and is now lost. I didn’t even know until my neighbor returned the other half of the sensor he found in the street ! I’ll try again once I am operational. Thanks for watching.
