Thanks for the upload. She had a long record breaking run filling the Albert Hall night after night. Does anyone realise the energy to hold that stage for 2 hours a night?! The Pride of Prestwich. Gone too soon. RIP Victoria, Queen of Comedy.
I'm writing this as I watch this for the tenth million time... It's currently 00:30am on Thursday 3rd November 2022 and yesterday was the funeral of my dear mother. She sadly died of cancer, just like Victoria Wood... In the last few years I've found a lot of comfort in watching Victoria Wood's various works. I will always be saddened by the fact that I never got to see Victoria Wood in person.
Hi Lydia, I hope you are well. My mum and I share a special bond with Victoria Wood's comedy. Mum sadly now has dementia, but she always laughs when I put on a Victoria Wood stand-up, sketch or Dinnerladies. I actually got to see her on this tour in the Albert Hall in the 2000s. I feel blessed to have seen her live. Take care, enjoy the memories of your mum and the happy times you shared xxx
Oh this show is the stuff of genius! Absolutely hilarious 🤣 she is spot on with everything she says and to think she is the only entertainer to ever sell out the royal Albert hall for 3 weeks…bloody amazing! We will miss you forever Vic, god bless you ❤️
I think it’s really sad that she found it so hard to accept how talented and loved she was which not to stereotype I think is very northern. The north in my opinion is full of the hardest working modest people on the planet who have been treated terribly at times. Victoria never wanted awards just to do what she loved and worked harder than anyone else. I met her once in the street and still have her autograph I actually apologised for bothering her and she was very kind and said it was really nice to meet me. I think we forget that celebrities are just human beings and not all of them have the entitled to be worshipped mentality. I never realised until recently how much of my sense of humour comes from her and I will be eternally grateful for that she was a true star. I ache when I realise she is gone and sometimes it’s hard to watch her but as long as we do she will never be truly gone. Sorry for the slight mental breakdown.
What a lovely comment! Thank you so much for sharing. I feel exactly the way you do. I am a 43 year old man from the UK but I have lived abroad for most of my life. My mum is from the UK (Manchester) so her northern humour was a huge part of my upbringing and my mum's favourite comedienne was Victoria Wood. Her comedy and talent taught me how to be quick-witted, appreciate those who are near and dear to you, how show empathy and kindness to strangers, colleagues, even managers! Her time was up too soon, but I will be forever grateful for the laughter, kindness, love (there aren't enough words!). We miss you so much Victoria. xxx
god bless her ive got the same last name as her . r..i.p Victoria wood defo a queen of comedy and well missed we were very lucky to have witness such an icon to ever hit the stage . I love her Barry and Freda song its so funny and amazing . every time I hear it I cant help but sing along so fast but now I can nail it . ive Evan downloaded it to my phone and I cant help but feel like laughing when I hear it x such a talented women who we lost to soon .
She is spot on with sunny d. My mum got it once, all four of us kids bounced off the walls. We weren't hyper kids. I'm a hyper adult at times but not as a kid. We thought it was due to budget reasons lol. Not hyperness
Here is a slightly spooky coincidence:~ The great music hall artist Marie Lloyd (1870~1922),was actually born Matilda Alice VICTORIA WOOD! Anyone believe in re~incarnation?
She sold out 15 nights at the royal albert hall. but she had enough clout to hire a driver. her team were three people. her pa, her agent and manager, phil mcintyer.

She had to extend her stay because of demand. The only other person ever to have done that was Frank Sinatra.
@@marifeely1694 yes I did see that on a documentary, amazing!

So lovely that you met her in the street and she was so nice. Just shows how genuine she was. The world is definitely poorer without our Vic.
What a lovely comment x

Even though she didn’t accept it I’m sure she at least knew how beloved she was, that was a lovely comment ❤ 😊
