I have a similar story. Watched my husband, 6’2 at 215lbs, go down to 146 from drinking a 5th a vodka a day. The gaslighting, the names, the cleaning piss up at 3am, putting sheets in the washer at 4am cuz he pissed the bed.
I had to leave because he was killing himself.
He checked into detox on our anniversary after I left.
Got sent to to the ICU twice during his detox.
No liver or pancreas damage.
Wet brain was insane for months.
He is now sober 3 years.
He is alive.
It took me to lose everything for him to live, but that’s all I wanted.
He’s alive. I would endure that pain and leave 100 times if it meant for him to live.
If I didn’t leave I would be a widow.
Still the damn voices get so loud sometimes. My reflection still turns on me. I’m Still trying to find the me that he stole.

Man I have to say this really hit me deep because I'm in a very dark place in life right now my ex girlfriend witch is also the mother of my two daughters we was together for 10 years almost 11 years I treated her like a queen I was there for her when not one other person was not even her own mother are relationship was very good and strong we was deeply in love n it was easy to see we was but something happened and I have no idea what but after we had are second daughter I could tell something wasn't right n she was different that's when a couple months later I found out she was cheating on me it hurt me so bad but how strong my love is for her i forgive her but then same thing like a mouth later found out she was cheating on me again n it hurt just as bad but I forgave her again but now I guess she thinks it's ok or something so I stayed with her for a little over a year knowing she is cheating on me but I don't want to loose her n really wanted n needed her to be there for me because that's when my drug use got really bad n I got locked up for 6 years n now she is with someone else has another kid while I'm still sitting here in so much pain because I still love her n miss being with her losing her has been the worst pain I've ever felt so now I'm 31 years old and I have been fighting addiction for around 15 years or so now i just feel so broken n like a lost cause n i feel like i will never be able to find someone else that will be able to grt my mind off of thinking about her n hoping she will come back to me
