Anyone remember the scene where Angelina's mom Sara, and the stage lady both said to Angelina as she was about to go on stage "ARE YOU READY INSIDE" and Angelina replied yes? Now at age 16, Angelina is about to take another huge step in her amazing career, concert tours, and a Debut album. Angelina has never been more ready after a 2 year delay. She has been using TIKTOK to fill the void in her life. Angelina is born for the stage.
Only 10, part of a big production in front of a big orchestra and a huge audience, and she's just calm, "Yeah, I belong here" - absolutely, bloody correct! This is Angelina's true element, where she belongs. She is a gift to contemporary music, someone that manages to revive interest in the music of 50-80 years ago, not to mention the impact her own music is just beginning to make it's mark. Her ability to fit in and excel at any genre of music is uncanny.
Alan Walker is a huge fan of Angelina and says about her " nobody sings my songs as beautifully as Angelina " 💯 *AJ* 💯 BTW, Faded's video has over 3.2 billion views on TH-cam alone. 🤗🤗
Valerie, I am curious if you show Angelina to your students (young or old) as an example of how to sing naturally, and be in the moment, and _feel_ the song they are singing. I think many people (even seasoned professionals) could take some notes from Angelina Jordan.
It's incredible how she can use her instrument in so many different ways. If it's music, it's in her wheelhouse. You mentioned that you weren't familiar with the songs... Alan Walker's Faded has 3.2 Billion views on YT. That's how popular that song is. The fact that he chose a 10 year old to sing it at this show in his hometown says a lot about how much other artists appreciate Angelina's talent.

Albert is totally right. Mr. Walker was so smitten, he allowed AJ to sing his song "Faded" whenever she wanted and Angelina, courtes as she is, tell her audience, that this song is from Alan Walker.
I always appreciate your reactions to Angelina. She has grown up singing her heart out and we're the beneficiaries. She's my favorite female singer.
So many challenges:
- a performance in the presence of the composer of the title,
- which will be broadcast on television,
- in front of a live audience singing along and possibly causing every conceivable distraction for the singer,
- with a hood over her ears, making it difficult to hear the orchestra placed further back and making any visual contact with them to the rear impossible,
- with artificial fog covering the voice,
- with a cold that has not yet healed,
- at the tender age of 10, and
- singing in her third language.
What a little trooper!
Always gets me with some of these early performances of hers when the performance finally ends and this small child's voice comes out of nowhere and says "thank you" and shocks you back to the reality that this was a child singing.

Valerie, yes, she's 10 years old here. It was very obvious when she hit 10 she stepped it up a notch or two. People in the industry took notice and knew she was much more than a nice kid with a great voice. They knew she was a jewel and wanted her to be a part of what they do, create beautiful music. Alan Walker had this homecoming Party and invited Angelina to sing for him because he knew no one else could sing his songs better than her!
Val, remember 'A Song For A' ? Nico Cartosio published an instrumental album and saved the last segment for the only vocal on his album. Who did he want to sing that vocal? Why, of course, Angelina at 10 years old, because he knew no one else could sing his song like her.
And it goes on and on.
It's so wonderful what has been going on with her. I just want her to always remember we are always with her and that she should always remain the beautiful Angelina she is and not get caught up in all the excitement that is surely around the corner.

@@ronjones1077 Ron, if she didn't she would marvel how Angelina sings every word so perfectly and sings every line differently. And, Ron, there's something about not seeing her or her image during the song. The focus on her voice goes up about two more notches. Incredible.

Excellent analysis of how Angelina is at home on stage. The story is that 10 year old Angelina was in NY, she was with a tutor with the concert that night. He asked her if she was nervous, she asked what he meant. He spent half an hour trying to explain "nervous" to her. She didn't get it. SHE LITERALLY DOESN'T KNOW WHAT NERVOUS IS! As for something different from her, try "TRXD Above the water ft. Angelina Jordan" It's an EDM track. It's audio only, done in studio, mixed and mashed and who knows what, done around the time between the AGT Champions taping (Oct 2019) and it's broadcast (Jan 2020) The two edm guys called her up, she said, sure why not, I like the song, how about if we try... By the time she took pity on them and recorded it they'd done six re-writes. Look for the version with all the dancers, it's fun
Please always remember how special this girl was at this minute time of her life. If she survives even 20 more years. she will be the GOAT. If she doesn't (and so many haven't ) she will still have given those of us who truly appreciate music, more than we have ever have had any reason to hope for. This young child's birth raised the bar of excellence for music forever.
Hi Valerie. Great reaction and a wonderful analysis of these two songs. Personally, Faded has always been one of my favorite Angelina performances. You nailed it - Angelina's ability to rise above what normally would be distractions is just so uncanny for a 10-year-0ld. She knows that she deserves to be there singing in front of thousands at his concert and millions on his world-wide stream. She is such a highly evolved soul and we are blessed to have her in this world and in our lives.
Valerie, as always your great love hearing what you have to say about our barefoot princess. The first time hearing this I was like there is no way blown away . Then after reading about Alan Walker, him inviting her to sing at such a large event was amazing and allowing her to rewrite these two songs to fit her. Just totaling amazing she is amazing just totaling amazing. Great job Valerie.
Thanks for an outstanding reaction to this incredible performance by this extraordinary artist. Yes, she was only ten years old.at the time of this performance but nothing fazes her...it doesn't matter that there was a large the orchestra backing her ...or a huge live audience that was singing along to these well known songs ...or thousands if not millions more watching and listening to the live stream of the performance. She commands that stage like the world class artist that she is and delivers a performance for the ages. There are no limits to where her talent and ability can take her. We are all so lucky to be able to witness this once in a lifetime talent share herself and her talent with the world.
Angelina has always been 100% confident in her ability. No doubt she was born to sing. How many 10 year olds could move away from their usual genre and give a top performance? Angelina has said she is on a mission to sing for the entire world. I believe she will accomplish that goal and improve the quality of life for many, through her music and her charitable nature.

I like Walker's music and this time Angelina's voice has integrated very well into her writing which is normally only instrumental. This recording is from the concert of Alan Walker in his hometown of Bergen, when he ended his world tour in December 2016 and asked Angelina to accompany him with her voice, because even then he considered her a great Norwegian singer. 💛 🧡 ❤️
This is such a magnificent performance: the artists work so very well together in this arrangement made just for this occasion. Angelina stands there totally at ease, smiling, waving and giving an amazing performance. The audience's response is incredible singing along and being very present. A magical moment.
She can indeed go in and out of focus in the blink of an eye. The same goes for those covers where she smiles, waves, enters her performance zone, finishes, snaps out of it, smiles and waves again.
I think it is really great that she goes around and discovers all sorts of different music, trying out stuff and enriching her ideas, experiences and blending them into her toolbox and skillset.

From the first time i saw i who have nothing at aged six, i was very aware that not only did we get such a wondful talent, but also a wonderful human being. I love this young lady and wish her all the best things in life, as she gives from herself to all of us.

As you say, the first song Angelina sings is most impressive enough that she can actually stand up in that environment and belt out a song in a genre we have never heard her do before. As you also say, "big ears"!

Agreed. She was 11 years old at the time of the other concert, and you can hear the improvement. The video is on the Kaleidoscope RMX channel. Yes! A reaction to Faded - Proysenfestivalen would be great especially contrasted to the "Walker" version. Given the freedom to sing it the way she feels it completely changes the song. The meaning and emotional content that flows from her interpretation makes it something truly special.

@@jameshale8251 Boris has that whole concert on his channel. Every song is a gem. My favorite is "When We Were Young", cover of Adele. Nothing against Adele, but I like Angelina's version better. Way more emotion to it. I also prefer Angelina's rendition of "Shield" from the concert to the way she sang it on TV.

Yes. We just can't get the real impact of her singing from recordings.
I find it incredible that she put what must be a tremendous amount of time and effort for a one night performance.
From watching Angelina's many different performances and rehearsals 100's of times I've always felt that, although she is able to focus (and does), she is also very much aware of all the instruments and backup and how she can swim in that environment while revealing the story. That may be why she is considered a prodigy. No longer just a child prodigy, she is a significant event in the history of our world and will continue to be for her entire life.
The one thing about Angelina that always amazes me is how she can transform her voice to whatever she wants - her voice is not just a tool, it's an entire tool box.
He's a DJ. It was a different way of presenting his music, with the orchestra. It was grand. The songs that AJ sang are often song by local artists when he tours his shows, normally far more electronic than this special event. AJ has said, in several interviews, that she goes into a space when she sings. She has described it as incredible, endless love, etc.
Angelina amazes me. When I first heard this, I thought I didn't like her singing so much. Loved the quality of the orchestra, the arrangement, the songwriting...
And then I decided to compare this to other singers doing the same songs with Alan W. Just fascinating! Angelina's version is FAR better, more beautiful than any other singer! Why is not entirely clear: more mature sounding, more authentic sounding, not sure ...

Love your reactions to Angelina and total support for her, she is a total new breed of performing singing artist. . She has been from a small toddler in know of who she is and what she is here for ; and her, as you say total focus shows that over and over again no matter the setting she is performing in, be at home or on the stage with thousands watching her. Alan is Norwegian, and this was in Norway. He specifically asked Angelina to sing for this concert. If you find the other video or if this one starts at the beginning before she starts singing, the orchestra sounds terrific. This is one of my favorite performances of hers.

I totaly line up to your reaction here Valerie. I kind of doubt that AW is essential in Angelinas surch for new songs for her to cover. These two, Angelina sings them really well, but they are not of those that grows on me, like almost any other song has done, that she has performed so fare. AW`s music in this video though, arranged like this, I appriciate highly.

Loved the reaction, Valerie! I'm sure you noticed that Angelina's voice broke a couple of times during this performance. I think this was just a result of her going through the voice change that children go through at that age. The remarkable thing is how she handled it and kept going like it was perfect.
By the way, she has three or four other videos doing "Faded" where she doesn't have the big production; just a small jazz band. Those are wonderful!

Baby Fuzz's "Im stil holding out for you", Nico Cartosio's album "Melting" as the only vocalist on an instrumental album or as here with Allan Walker. She experiments a lot on her Tiktok and instagram. I think she loves a challenge and the creative process that it entails.

Almost all reactions have at least one of these links, but for some reason this video has 5, so far Please delete these comments & block them for the future. They are becoming rampant in Angelina videos. Oh, as others have said, she just released a new version of Willie Nelson's Crazy that he wrote for Patsy Cline to 1st perform, then later recorded himself. It's on Tik Tok & is only 1:48 sec of absolute perfection. If you don't have a Tik Tok account, superfan Rusty Shackelford converted it to a YT video. She has covered this song a few times before at 11, 12 & 13 & they were beautiful. Patsy is the standard bearer, but in my opinion if Angelina had done the whole song, she would be the "new" owner of this song. th-cam.com/video/Vjc0riTGiGU/w-d-xo.html If it's too short then you could combine it with another short TikTok video (2:11 sec) which is a cover of Adele's new song, Love is a Game. Allen Walker English Norwegian just started the 14 certified platinum album around the world and he thought Angelina Jordan with the best thing is ever heard of the age of 10 so she went on tour with him around the world you’re back in Norway Last concert
I wasn't particularly impressed with the first song, not that she wasn't wonderful as always, just that the song didn't demand much from her. But "Faded" required much more and she provided it. As far as getting out of her genre the TikTok she put out yesterday performing "Crazy" was absolutely brilliant.
It's often the simple songs which require talent to perform better. I see that "Sing me to sleep" has garnered over 667 million views on TH-cam. Having said that, I totally agree with your remarks concerning "Faded"
I quite like both songs. To make simple songs interesting is pretty hard. For instance in 'Ain't no sunshine', the whole 'I know, I know etc' sequence' is super simple and hard to make interesting.
The reason her TikTok version of Crazy is much better than her earlier version is that there is less Patsy Cline and more of Angelina, she is developing her voice for the future.

Hi Valerie, always enjoy your time with Angelina, this is one of my favorite performances from the 10 year old...live before 1000's and likely millions on the livestream. Your so right about her professionalism and focus yet it you watch her she is waving to people in the audience...so sweet. She did another version of the song "Faded" at an outdoor festival with her great Jazz band and completely changed the arrangement and it is spectacular to see. • “Song for A” (performed by Angelina at age 13). th-cam.com/video/Bo3mhxPM-uA/w-d-xo.html: It is the only song on Nico Cartosio's album “Melting” that includes vocalization by a singer; the others are merely instrumental. Cartosio wrote this song specifically for Angelina. The instrumental part was recorded by Cartosio's orchestra in Abbey Road Studios in London, and the vocals was recorded later by Angelina in Los Angeles. This lovely song is based on the 1783 poem “The rigs of barley” by Scottish poet Robert Burns (1759-1796).
• “I’m still am holding out for you” (demo): th-cam.com/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/w-d-xo.html. It was recorded one week before Angelina turning 11. Some consider it to represent one of Angelina's best vocal performances. I would very much appreciate to know your criteria in this regard.

She is 1/4 Japanese. Her maternal grandfather was Japanese, and her Mom and Uncle Michael were raised there for part of their youth. She grew up hearing Japanese spoken around the house and likely speaks some herself. Her grandmother is Iranian, so she also speaks Farsi, and of course, Norwegian.
