This cart still has the most awesome menu system of any Atari carts. The search function is simply amazing and awesome, love the colours and the slow blinking cursor....joystick control is exactly how it should be too.... The biggest flaw is having to update it on the A8 itself. And...the name is the worst ever.....try googling “The!cart”
I think the TK2000, from Microdigital (a Brazilian company from the 80's), cloned the case of that computer that appears in the video. I had a TK2000 in the mid 80's here in Brazil.
Absolutely fab utility cartridge here, Peter. We would love to discuss your hardware and perhaps review it to our members over at our new forum at: atari.boards.net Brilliant, buddy - the capabilities are extremely impressive. We just love Atari so I'm enjoying your video review here - Atari still rocks our world! Cheers, fella.
Sure, but it all depends on mega_hz. You can also subscribe to the AA thread. There the news will be posted. atariage.com/forums/topic/215811-thecart-new-128mb-flash-cartridge/
Ohh my god I love this!! Going to buy a 130xe machine now.. Sadly I once owned and gave it away.. I want to collect all the old games I had Karateka, Bruce Lee, Arkon I&II, Summer Games, Hardball, Gauntlet... this is going to be cool.. Where can I get this cartridge? I'm guessing eBay.
First run is sold out. A new run with improved PCB is planned. Details will be here by the end of the Januar. atariage.com/forums/topic/215811-thecart-new-128mb-flash-cartridge/page-1
Hi Thorsten, Wie Du siehst versuche ich noch immer Leute zu überreden einen Atari zu kaufen - damit ich nicht die einzige bin :-) Ping mich mal per Mail.
Sorry for the late answer, but I wanted to be precise: - The!Cart is a cartridge emulator than can also read files from ATR disk image files. - SIDE is a disk emulator that can read and write files on hard disk partitions on a CF card I've put together and overview to compare the different pro's and con's of the most prominent storage solutions for the Atari 8-bit. You can find it here: www.wudsn.localhost/index.php/productions-atari800/tools/thecart
We are collecting interest for a next batch. Best is you send personal message via AtariAge atariage.com/forums/topic/215811-thecart-new-128mb-flash-cartridge?view=getnewpost
+back2skooldaze Hi, the original price was 59 EUR. Yet the production run is sold out. New production run with improved hardware is on the way. For more details check atariage.com/forums/topic/215811-thecart-new-128mb-flash-cartridge/
Hey Peter thanks for getting back to me on this!! I shall definately want one of the latest versions.I have the atarimax flash cart and have used that but since its one of the early versions i can't use it on windows 7 i can still use it on windows 98/millenium.
What a great project for the retro community as a whole. A few years ago we had nothing like this for nearly any platform...
This video helped me today to flash the newest PacManArcadeFinalV2.0 to the!cart. I forgot how to use this wicked "so called simple menu".

Didn't know that machine. Interesting idea to use an Atari case for something that's almost an Apple II 🙂
Is this cart still available today?
Hello Niklas. Yes, we plan a new run when enough people show interest. Just send a PM or mail to jac at wudsn.com and I'll add you to the list.
