      King Shlong its funny how you bring up Bute lost 4 after Froch beat him but you all praise Joe Calzaghe bullshit win over Roy Jones. Second explain what did Joe Calzaghe accomplish in the Super Middleweight division that your rank him over Andre Ward and Carl Froch who both fought top notch fighters. Sven Ottke also had 21 defense and im not a 100% sure buti think the after the 14 defense he held two belts. While the WBO belt wasn't recognize by the other organizations for the first 4 year he held the title

    • @williamdrayton7352
      @williamdrayton7352 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      King Shlong yes i asked that question. One the difference between Froch and Ward they fought and beat everyone one in the Division. When Joe Calzaghe was champion you had Sven Ottke who at the time held two legitimate belts and defended them 21 times just as Joe Calzaghe did with the WBO belt which was trash. When Andre Ward went to Light Heavyweight and fought and stop Kovale in their second fight unlike Joe Calzaghe who chose Roy Jones thay lost 3 in a row two by back to back knockout. But keep selling that bullshit. Im from the states where fighters take on all comers something Carl Froch did with pride and greatness

Certainly not other boxers or the press how can anyone who was never the official number 1 in his division and who lost to every world class boxer he fought don't forget Kessler beat after he was well beaten by Joe be considered the best boxer the UK as produced and please remind me which of the two are inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame.

      Agreed Joe is the longest reigning British champ, how can you say Froch is most recognized? The same froch who got lucky in his first fight against a Groves which he shouldnt never have won.

    • @jimmynich4791
      @jimmynich4791 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Froch never avoided anyone but Calzaghe was avoided like the plague. Ottke turned down £1M because he knew he would get owned, Hopkins should have fought Calzaghe in 2002 but priced himself out. Joe just couldn't get the opportunities when he was younger, mostly because of Ottke hiding in Germany with his two belts, once he was gone the big fights happened. Always respect Lacy for giving him the shot at the unification, awful career move by Lacy though.

It could be debated that prime for prime he would've beaten every single all-time great heavyweight throughout history (yes, even Ali from the 60s) whereas Joe would've most likely lost to a prime Andre Ward and definitely would've gotten knocked out by a prime Roy. He's not even the best in the history of his own weight division so how could he be the greatest British fighter ever?

      As for Roy Jones? One of the best P4P boxers of all time. But not at SuperMiddleweight. Tell me his greatest
      accomplishments at 168? He didnt even unify the titles. He only had around 6 fights at the weight and apart from
      a great win against a fat James Toney (who never fought at 168 again) he only fought old men and bums

      jack chan Why would Joe fight him 49 and 0 he had nothing to prove. Froch is not even the number one in his division. Froch kept calling Joe out after he retired because Joe at his best would have destroyed the wooden Froch.
      As for Collins and Joe watch the Sky programme where Eubank accused Collins of running scared, Eubank faced both of them and in his opinion, which I respect because he fought both of them and was not an armchair warrior like you, he said Joe would have done him. Joe one the all time undefeated great World Champions Froch a journey man with a half decent record but an over inflated opinion of his ability.

    I know at this point Joe had been retired a while, but he's not overweight, he's just a lot more naturally bigger than Froch. Froch used to walk around about half a stone over the weight at most I believe, Calzaghe naturally walked around at about 14st I think I heard. Size, speed, movement, angles, boxing brain, variety, all with Joe in my opinion. If Froch caught him, he'd know about it, but I don't think Froch would catch him clean enough often enough to put Calzaghe away

    Froch recently said he wanted a “straightener” with Calzaghe. (Basically a fight)
    However, he waited until Joe had been retired for five years and he had been retired for one to say it.
    Froch wants to believe he could beat Calzaghe and wants other people to believe it.
    Anyone who ever saw them fight knows that Froch wouldn’t last six rounds against Joe.
    He never had the power, speed or ability to do it.

    If a westerns opinion matters to you which I probably doesn’t, I can tell you Brit’s one thing, Froch was always respected because of his chin yes, but Joe Calzaghe was no ordinary opponent for anybody in any country and everyone that knew boxing in the west knew Calzaghe was a freak. Certainly Joe was one of the greatest boxers of all time. Very good all around fighter. He was just a freak of nature in the ring that could make quick and talented boxers look lesser than what they were.
