Hello! I just stepped out of my sewing room as I'm now working on Christmas gifts. I'm so grateful to be able to sit and watch your video. I hope you have a lovely week ahead! Thank you for sharing this and for your time to make this.
Hi Brenda! Thank you for watching. We are happy that you're able to get started on your Christmas gifts this early! Thank you for your kind words. We do hope you enjoy your weekend!! 💖 -Michelle
If you take the cloth off before it cools you wont have the mess around the edge & if you add pine resin the cloths will stick to the bowl with out string
I have made several of these in the past and they are awesome to wrap up onions or other veggies that made go bad before you use them again. It keeps bread fresher much longer.
They sure can! You can also washed them by hand, but you'll want to ensure that you're filling your sink with cool water and using a mild soap to clean them. Hope this makes sense! 💖 -Michelle

Great question! These can actually be washed by hand, but you'll want to ensure that you're filling your sink with cool water and using a mild soap to clean them. Definitely do not place in the washing machine or dryer. Hope this makes sense! 💖 -Michelle
Hi Zoe! We are very glad that you enjoy this fun project! Jana - The CraftyRealtor gave you excellent advice regarding cleaning these. Thanks for watching! 💖 -Michelle
I have several of these that I bought and love them. Now, I can’t wait to make my own! Did you wash the fabric pieces first, and is the wax on the right side of fabric? And when you’re covering a bowl, is the wax side up or down. Sorry if these are silly questions! 🤗 thanks!
I though I’d reply to your questions. It really does not matter which side you apply it to. The iron will push the wax thru to the other side. When app, hint it the the bowl, you can put the fabric right side up, mainly for aesthetic purposes only, if you put it right side down it will work just as well. I hope this helps.
We're happy you enjoy these! As Jana-TheCraftyRealtor mentions, the wax is absorbed through the fabric since it is 100% cotton, so there will be no "right or wrong" side. Hopefully this makes sense - it would not matter which side you are using when you wrap something. Thanks for watching! 💖 -Michelle
Hi Pearl! We have 100% Pure and Natural Triple Filtered White Beeswax pellets available in the kit - www.shabbyfabrics.com/p133486/beeswax-wraps-kit-honey-bee 💖 -Michelle
We're happy you enjoy them. These wraps do make great gifts! The kit allows you to creat one 13" x 14", one 10" x 11" & two 7" x 8" wraps. Thanks for watching!! 💖 -Michelle
I love this idea for housewarming gifts. How do you go about cleaning these? I am guessing they can't be put in the washing machine right? And certainly not the dryer. Can they just be hand washed? How long are they reusable?
We're happy this project inspires you! These can be washed by hand, but you'll want to ensure that you're filling your sink with cool water and using a mild soap to clean them. Definitely do not place in the washing machine or dryer. Their life span depends on a variety of factors, and you can always "refresh" them by reapplying beesewax, or even just re-ironing (with the parchment paper) Hope this makes sense! 💖 -Michelle

At this time we don't sell the beeswax pellets by themselves, but we have more of the wrap kits available in our store. -Bethany www.shabbyfabrics.com/p133486/beeswax-wraps-kit-honey-bee?searchQuery=beeswax
We're happy you enjoy this project! We would not recommend usage on raw meats/fish, and you may want to be careful around sauces, due to staining. Additionally, since heat does make the wax melt, you'd want to avoid hot foods. These can be washed by hand, but you'll want to ensure that you're filling your sink with cool water and using a mild soap to clean them. Hope this makes sense! 💖 -Michelle

These are really cool. I do have one question... Will they melt out in the sun? (was wondering if it was really hot day for BBQ and they were out on the table if they would start to melt).
We're glad you enjoy this project! The wax on these wraps will melt with heat, so they're not recommended for hot dishes or placed in direct sunlight. It's probably best to avoid using them on a really hot day, but you can always reapply the wax to the fabric if you feel that it needs refreshing. 💖 -Michelle
Thank you, and these are much more versatile than the sewn toppers with elastic. I am making these! Great ideas.
They really are. We're happy you like this fun project! 💖 -Michelle

These look amazing and I can't wait to make some. One quick question, how is the best way to wash them? Thank you in advance. Love and light.
You can just run them under cold water and then just take a tea towel to dry them off. The only thing you can’t use them for is raw meat.
@@Jana-TheCraftyGambler Thank you so much for that information. X
Thank you, Jana for your excellent answers! 💖 -Michelle

So do you apply beeswax to the right side of the fabric or wrong side?
Hi Wendy, It doesn't matter which side the beeswax is applied to. Once melted, it will saturate the fabric completely. Hope this helps! -Bethany
How cool!!!
Glad you like it!! 💖 -Michelle
Love this. So easy and they cost a lot at the store.

My question is if you want to make more beeswax wraps and use up the wax pellets can you order more from you or where do we get them?
I’ve seen them on Amazon but you have to be really careful to make sure you’re buying real beeswax

They would be really good for putting on top of salads when you are having a BBQ or other dishes - beeswax repels other insects.
