    Brady and team, looking for a under $2500 "camera" and zoom capability to mount on the back wall about 60' to the rear of the podium for live streaming. I've looked at the PTZ cameras and controllers and (especially the controllers) are very expensive. There is tons of information out there and even on your channel but many of the reviews for streaming assume the camera is very close to the subject. We currently mount a Canon (USB output but may switch to the HDMI output for a video mixer) on a tripod about seven feet from the pastor during services and the desire is to get rid of the tripod in the front of the church. We use OBS and would like a camera on the wall that is easily controllable with a few different shots of wide podium, chest and head shot, and then the whole stage area and possibly the organ and piano on the sides which would mean the widest shots would be about 60 feet from the camera and the width at that point could be as wide as about 60 feet. It would be nice to be able to command the camera to zoom. We could even live with a fixed camera position but the PTZ controllers are too expensive for us and do much more than we need. Any thoughts or recommendations on where to go? Thank you in advance.

I can share my screen and switch from slides to camera view with Zoom which gets rid of need for switcher, video/audio codec, etc. I'm wondering if I can just feed in audio from our soundboard instead of the mic on the Microsoft Lifecam Studio Business camera. Any advice would be welcome!!

    • @prochurchtools
      @prochurchtools  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Daniel, we don't use the ATEM software to color grade, we use a LUT that we put into the camera itself for that. And then we'll use the ATEM software to tweak anything as needed with the saturation, exposure, contrast, etc.
      If you want to learn about how I color grade (which is how we create these custom LUTs), check out these two videos here if you haven't already:

    • @prochurchtools
      @prochurchtools  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The strength of the Micro 4K is its compact size - for putting it inside a kick-drum or something of that nature. Similar to what's possible with action cameras like GoPros. The downside of the Micro 4K is that it doesn't have a screen for monitoring or any internal recording options - so it needs to be part of a bigger overall system. The Pocket 4K is tremendously more flexible and versatile than the Micro 4K.

    • @prochurchtools

      The main difference is the sensor size. The BMPCC4K is a micro-four thirds sensor. The BMPCC6K is a Super 35 sensor. The 6K sensor is bigger. This means it's easier to achieve a shallower depth-of-field, the bigger sensor will also perform better in low-light situations due to its size, and field of view will be wider.

I have researched PTZ's, but there doesn't seem to be much OBJECTIVE content on them. Basically what I am finding is commercials by people who actually sell PTZ's, which obviously have a conflict of interest. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for lens'' at all for closer up like your shot in this video. We have a little studio setup for church as we just launched an online only location last month and would be looking at a smaller distance say 8-10ft. Hey Brady! We're a small church plant so we are mostly "set it and forget it" with a camera back by the sound board, about 60 feet from the stage. For that, would you recommend the Panasonic G7 with the lens that comes with it, the G7 but get the Panasonic 35-100mm f2.8 lens, or just get the Blackmagic Pocket Camera and the Panasonic 35-100mm f2.8? How much quality difference would there be in that scenario from the G7 to the Blackmagic Pocket Camera?

      The difference in quality (to my eye) between the BMPCC and the G7 would be considerable. I'd definitely go with that. The BMPCC has more live stream-ready features than the G7 and is more future-proof as well.

    if im streaming with a pocket cinema camera, do I need to color grade the stream? if so, how do I do that?

    • @elmerrayo5964
      @elmerrayo5964 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend that you do color grade it; although with great lighting, the image can look great. You do so by applying a lut to the bmpcc 4K. You can record a short clip of your scene to an SSD card and color grade it in DaVinci Resolve. Once you color grade it, you would convert it into a lut in DaVinci Resolve and save it to your SSD which you would then export to the camera. Make sure you also turn on “apply lut in file” on the bmpcc 4k under the Monitor tab so the HDMI out feed can take the lut. Hope this helps.

    Dear Brady, thank you for your most helpful video. Could you please explain to me why we should not rely on autofocus? We were hoping to place our camera, and rely on the autofocus to keep a sharp image on the moving preachers (some move a lot! left right forward backwards). So are we then meant to adjust to lens as the preacher moves? Why is the autofocus (like a regular camcorder has) not good to rely on? Many thanks.

    • @prochurchtools
      @prochurchtools  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on a number of factors. What aperture you're shooting at, how far away your camera is from the stage, if your camera is on a tripod by itself or if it's being operated by an actual person - autofocus, for me, isn't trustworthy and I've seen it do more harm than good when it starts searching for focus after it loses it and it can be distracting.

      @@prochurchtools thank you so much for clarifying this. Our context is that the device would be on a tripod by itself (connected to the Atem mini pro in the back of the premise) about 15 feet from the (moving) preacher.
