- May 10th, 1940: Fall Gelb; the German battleplan for a quick victory over France is set in motion. The plan is to lure the Allied armies north by launching a major attack into the Netherlands and Belgium. Heeresgruppe B, deploying more than 30 divisions and aided by fallschirmjäger is to overwhelm the Netherlands while applying maximum force towards the French border through Belgium. As the Allies react to these moves, they will be unable to respond effectively to the armored spearhead further south.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From 1939 to 1941, Germany stunned the world with the introduction of Blitzkrieg, a new mode of war focused on massed armored spearheads and close air support. Rapid shock and encirclement by mechanised armies replaced the grinding attrition of World War I trench warfare. In this DLC, you command Wehrmacht forces during this period, starting with the 1939 invasion of Poland, through the daring airborne assault on Crete in May 1941.

Also this was amazing blitzkrieg you basically cleaned the map by the end of scenario.
You can use the flying artillery on the dutch capitulation once you have troops in range to see it. Then just parachute into it. Makes this mission super easy.
i didn't think of doing that as i have been getting mixed results from para, yes it works and it is dirty as fuck
Didn't think of using the paratroopers there, nice tactic.
I've used just common bombers. Cause FlyingArty is needed for EbenEmael, it's required to be taken on turn 1 on my playthrough. I have also used Paras to capture Brussels. And Brandenburgers to destroy a bridge leading to the west. All of this during the first turn...
I'm gonna have to watch this - I'm an above average player but I've lost this mission 3 times on 'normal'. The moment the British and French arrive, they cut threw my lines and devastate my forces. By the end I'm bled dry.
Excellent as always, Generalfeldmarschall!!! :D
Pretty good playthrough all things considered! I can't wait to see you do the ahistorical campaign, definitely a bit more challenging. Only thing I would advise you to do is to use all your HQ abilities before moving it forward - pontoon bridges, extra suppression or just to maximize your XP gain, all quite useful.
Yes, the one thing i tend to forget sometimes is maximalize on HQ usage. Though i don't have pontoon bridges as a skill, using up the remaining points on feint attacks each turn would be an improvement.
@@NightPhoenixnp level 1 intel only costs 25 per hq and gives you 2 sight into fog on start turn and a reduction in numbers of stragglers needed for intel. not sure how effective the later upgraids are but the initial 25 is money well spent
I just say it: Briliant victory! like in good classic Panzer General
Started playing the DLC this weekend and let me tell you that my airforce is trolling me. When i need it to count 0/1 suppression. When i use it on a random target near the end of the mission - 3 suppresed or 1/2 KIA. :)
=( Yes that's how things tend to go.
don't forget to buy some intel points on your hqs. it is actually useful to see what you are advancing into without using recon planes
It does hurt quite a bit, not seeing where you are going, but those upgrades are expensive. I often feel i need that prestige to get every specialist step i can get.
OMG!!! I'm struggling to get it through on standard difficulty.... I don't get how easy you got through the first line of enemy and another thing is like more of your units is better quality at the start. mine motorized troops at the dutch side is at least two times lower quality. I have 3.3.5 and you have 5.5.7 or so? its crazy why?
Hey a bit of a note they redid the damage amounts units can do. It used to be a maximum of 6 shifts now it is 9 (this is why you can do a maximum of 5 damage instead of 3) makes the historical allied campaign easier and the ahistorical a LOT easier as strong divisions with three specialists blow through German divisions. Just a tip if you go back and do another play through.
I noticed that too. I guess it's good that they fixed it. Maybe not neccessary though for the allied campaign. For the German campaign, i understand they'd want to keep it like that as it's designed with that in mind.
Well played! I am watching because the AI seems programmed to throw themselves at Brussels and they recaptured it with an elite motoroised unit I was unable to dislodge and lost 😩😩 good to see how a good player does it haha
The ai can be pretty aggressive, given certain conditions. I found that the AI will either be relatively passive - cause it thinks it's not strong enough, or very aggressive because it thinks it is. There seems to be no middle ground. You can use that to your advantage by focussing on sapping enemy strength first - you'll notice when the AI drops in aggressiveness, then take Brussels.
@@NightPhoenixnp thanks for the tip, cracked in in the end!
👍
in my current version of the game you have to take Eben Emal by turn 2 and not by turn 8? is this influenced by the difficulty settings?
No, they changed it, i suppose. Doesn't matter though, as you can see in my video as well i take it turn 1.
on 18:02 now you caputred the dutch the all unit gone but problem is stragglers is everway and slow your advanse but you are lucy to win
;) Stragglers are not so bad, just using the rear units to clear them out.
Dat Eben Emanuel.
