- First off I'd like to thank the huge support for the forscan platform. I will defiantly be digging deeper into the abilities it has.
this is a simple walk through video about what I've learned about forscan and how to use it for your vehicle to perform the most common mods

Thanks for this. Took a bit to find the required Extended License to edit my Trailer Brake Controller Gain setting on my 2015 but eventually got it done. That's the only setting on the 2015 that came up and I hope it's ready to roll because I'm picking up a travel trailer next week and they won't let it leave the lot without a brake controller (working). :-o

Thanks for the video, I'm just starting out with Forscan as well. Keep in mind that in CANADA, DRLs are REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW, on ALL vehicles sold in Canada after 1990. It's not a 'lifestyle option', and could cost you big if they are disabled and are pulled over with inoperative DRLs.
I live in canada as well and aware of the daytime running light laws. and modifying what I did turning off the headlamp as the drls and using the side markers is legal as well. the entire generation of Ford trucks from 2010 to 2014 all use the marker lights as the drls from factory. as well doing the lights like this also illuminated the full parking light system of the truck allowing you to be seen from the front and the rear and In my opinion is a better alternative lighting option then just the front headlamps. unfortunately our drl systems in newer vehicles are bright enough and the dashboards are always backlit that some people don't realize at night time they are only using the daytime lights and do not have any other lighting active on the car until they hit the brake lights. these people are more of a hazard then amber drls
@@billgoatgarage Agreed. Usually black or grey cars....driving at night without their full lighting system on, (required one hour before sunset) and basically invisible from behind. I know that some trucks use the parking lights as DRLs, but lately I've seen a LOT of cars without DRLs, meaning that they were either disabled, burned out relays, or......smuggled into the country. :) Thanks again for the video.

this does not void the warranty to the best of my knowledge. if you are going to return it to the dealer for warranty on your radio system I would suggest changing it back before it goes. but if it's going back for engine repairs just send it

Still looking for a Forescan mod to allow using the 360 cameras while moving. I'd like this completely for looking to the rear to see the trailer, or any other reason.
I've rented other brands' trucks/SUVs and they allow use of cameras at any speed. My '13 Accord also allowed use of right side camera at any time while moving, but not the rear.

I have a 2016 F150 XLT but no fog lights at all even though I can see them in the grill. Can I turn them on with sw? Someone mentioned you have to actually mod the switch???? Hope you know the answer and can just change the module coding with forscan. Thanks
What exactly do the notes mean? Does it disable the controls (knobs n such) on the front or the digital menu will show but not work?

No you dont. But they have prices depending on how long you want. But lifetime is only $50 but I think that's only for the computer that you are using currently for it.

I forget what one it is. I know it's the value that you change for the radio boot screen. I believe if you change the value to a 7 it is the raptor boot screen. I think the Lincoln ones are if you change the value to a 4
after forscan changes the radio says " DAB stations not available" any ideas on this ?
When adding these climate controls does all the functions work ? Up and down in temp?
on xlt trucks that have the manual temp control. the climate controls will not work everything

Do the front turn signals still flash even though they're being used as DRL's? If not, that's not only a major safety concern, but would fail safety inspection in numerous States. I'd like to do that mod on my F150, but if the front turn signals no longer flash after being assigned as DRL's, that's a deal breaker.
absolutely they do. the front turn signal/marker bulbs are dual filament and the markers are the drls allowing the signal to flash

Good afternoon, can you provide any information on an 18 Escape SE non-navi to me on a swap for one with? I'm getting ready to order a new APIM from the dealer & have FORScan with the extended license. Since the dealer needs a VIN to go by (So they say) what options should I look for with-in it? A Titanium version? Would love to be able to do the climate, seats, lights, etc if I can.
you are swimming in waters I have not yet charted. I imagine swapping the apim might work however you might be in over your head. I think you would be able to just change the configuration for the apim in the vehicle to respond. but if your vehicle was not built with the mods you are looking to install the vehicle wiring harness might be different and even if you get your configuration correct in the software of the module the wiring harness installed in the vehicle just might not have the wires you need

push the park button twice to switch between the modes? if it has parallel park assist it should have perpendicular park abilities
I wish I could add a picture here to help show what I am about to describe....I have a 2011 F150 XLT Super Crew. Above the stereo head unit is a digital display. It just sits there..I would like it to scroll either way because it hides a lot of my music information I want to see.....Do You know any way to make that happen? Thanks

Yes it will work but you’ll still only have manual control just with on screen access too in addition to the knobs
I tried changing my DRL to the turn signals/parking lights and the tail lights are also illuminated. With DRL in the stock format of low beams, the tail lights are not illuminated. Any idea how to remedy this? Thanks for the video BTW!
no that is the way it is when you put the parking lights on with it. personally this is how I ran my truck was with parking lights on all the time.
if you change the code for only the turn signal to be on then you will not have the parking lights.
but if you use the code I used you will run the lil marker lights as well. but when you run those you run all the parking lights. make sense? hope so good luck

yes I was playing with it and you can get the raptor boot screen pretty easy. however it will not keep the blue theme with the raptor boot up which is why I kept the gt boot up screen so I have the blue theme as well

Can use one theme and have a different boot screen? In other words have the GT boot up screen but the lincoln black label theme?
I have not been able to make that work. someone might have figured out how to by now. however I do not think it is possible

aweaome video, is there a way to save all your Mods in one file and then be able to switch between original and mod just when you have to drop your truck to the dealer so it would be in stock co figuration? another question if you write all the info to original configuration will they know you were doing mods?

yes in the video I stress the importance of backing up your stock files so you can swap back at any time. once you have the files saved 1 as original and 1 as a modded file you can simply load the stock files to change it back and then load your modded files to change it back
Any idea how I could have deactivated the passenger door intelligent access with ForScan? I’ve changed a few things and now the passenger door handle will not lock or unlock with the intelligent access features. Not sure what I changed and don’t want to go back to the factory as built unless I have to.
I would restore or undo the most recent mods you did clearly you changed something the truck didn't like
Do the climate controls in the radio actually work/control the climate functions or is it just for looks?
they function about 50 percent you can change fan speed and blend door modes just not the temperature

manual temperature control vs auto temperature control. if you have the auto function then the temp function will work. if you just have like a xlt model without the auto temp control then it will not
Can you please tell me where can I get the spreadsheet of the original and the new one that you have in here? I m a second owner of a truck f-150 xlt 2018 originally from Canada. I believe that the first owner must changed a few things on the drl of the truck before. Now that I have no daytime running light option to turn on/off in the display setting. First With the factory halogen headlight my truck the headlight was working fine as normal until I replace it to led bulbs. Since then every time when I drive or reverse the truck my headlight low beam just automatic turn on even the light switch is on off. And when I put it on park my headlight low beam would goes off. Now that I replace the old factory halogen headlight to a new one called Morimoto xb 2nd generation and I still have the same problem as when I replace it to led bulbs. I don’t want my headlight low beam and the C shape led light to be on every time I drive as it on off mode. Please share your thought, thanks.

I have a 2017 and apparently the fx4 didnt come with a modem, but the sport 4x4 did. Mine is a fx4, no modem...cant use fordpass to start it, lock/unlock it
So if I want to use my parking and fogs as dtrls and not have factory dtrls on, I'll need to do what you did with your lights except add in my fogs?
yes you will need to do what I did but add in the fogs instead

honestly just make sure you save your stock configuration first. that way if you do screw up or change something you don't like you can change it back to stock and try again
@@billgoatgarage yeah my buddy mentioned that as well as having car on battery charger incase I'm using it bit long, I've had the obd2 plug and the program on both my laptop and my phone(which isn't that great) for almost 2m I just get worried lol. I want to enable Bambi mode, turn off dtrls as I like having just the parking lights and fogs on during day, get rid of that annoying double honk if you leave the car running and get out with key in your pocket as well as the door chime. Not sure if I'll do much else right now my buddy said you can change the load up screen on the deck to FORD instead of the pony at least in the tiny 4" screen which i unfortunately have as well. Lol

no not with forscan you need a module to install to achieve this

I didn't see the point in making it an "option" in the menu. I just switched it to the parking lamps and was more then happy with my truck
@@billgoatgarage ok but am just thinking ... u might get the GM problemnof the sockets getting burnt after a while.... due to the heat Although, u can avoid it by swapping your bulbs to LEDs vs incandescents

Those spreadsheets are only available for a few vehicles. I can't find one anywhere for my Ford Escape. Makes no sense considering it is one of the most popular vehicles in the country and has been around since the early 2000s. Without that sheet this software is pretty useless.
Some of the settings are universal, the theme selection is common to all models for example. The Sync 3 system itself as far as hardware goes is common to all ford products that have Sync 3 (new ones have the option for a 4G modem that older ones don't though, and the nav-enabled ones have more storage than non-nav units (32GB for nav, and I want to say 8GB or 16GB for non-nav). They Sync 3 system in the $400k Ford GT is the same as the one in the EcoSport, just with different settings enabled for the features that the GT has and the EcoSport doesn't have, you can enable the same features on the EcoSport, but the if the vehicle doesn't have those features and you enable them, then you can run into problems, an example would be trying to enable the 360 camera view from the Raptor on a Fiesta that physically doesn't have the necessarily hardware (cameras) to support the feature.

Eric Lee you have to register... it takes about a day for them to approve your registration and get your license. It’s free, just google “forscan extended license” and you should find what you need.

I just want an option to make these terrible halogen lights 2x brighter. Honestly, how these passed DOT is beyond me. Dim yellow candles.
I know running Bambi mode in my state will get you a ticket, fog lamps cant run with high beams here i know.
