      All members past and present had an impact/ contribution Michael, they are one of the bands where all members were involved and not a bit part, talented people, i would suggest that micks driving force and obvious talent took them to the top, always the biggest show in town having moved playing live from the clubs, then at the start of bigger events in arena's and took rock music tours bigger again doing the stadium stuff, over the decades some fantastic artists and bands got a support slot in a stones show which was a dream for anyone up and coming as didn't get any bigger and all done their own job, sorry for the lengthy comment Michael but I'm sure your cool about it,

    This was recorded during the Sticky Finger recording sessions in 1969.Later on,it would be rerecorded for EOMS (1972).Love the guitars on this version,and Mick still trying to put words to it!

      No all down the line seems to be dated between december 1971 and March 72.
      Guess This super version is a pre demo tape maybe recorded at NellCote d'urine the exil.period.i guess it was recorded by Bill Wyman and Nicky Hopkins..

      @@willjennings844 No sorry that sure is a lot of guessing from a guy who has no idea what he's on about :/ the first guy was right, you're wrong. This early version was recorded in June/July '69 sessions at Olympic Sound in London.
      It is not a 'pre demo tape'.
      It was not recorded at Nellcote in '71.
      It was not recorded by Bill Wyman and/or Nicky Hopkins.
      Hope this helps ..

    What is amazing is the difference with the finished version. This song is for me the summit of Exile. Everything is top on the electric version: Mick incredible vocals, Keith guitars, the bass, the horns and Charlie fantastic drums. They never could nail it as well live...

      Yeah me too. Been a fan since 1967 and I find the more relaxed and improvisationaly they play. The better they sound. They sound great polished ( Time waits for no on / can’t you hear me knocking) but there loose and gritty and dirty stuff now that’s the shit ( as Kieth would say. ) lol.

      Well just being honest here....The Stones have been around the block a few times so they usually drop stuff from time to time. And when they drop that stuff people will get lucky and find it for us. And I’m so thankful for that. Because if it were only up to those greedy record companies most of these gems would never have seen the light of day.
