No all down the line seems to be dated between december 1971 and March 72. Guess This super version is a pre demo tape maybe recorded at NellCote d'urine the exil.period.i guess it was recorded by Bill Wyman and Nicky Hopkins..

This early version was recorded in June/July '69 sessions at Olympic Sound in London. It is not a 'pre demo tape'. It was not recorded at Nellcote in '71. It was not recorded by Bill Wyman and/or Nicky Hopkins. Hope this helps ..
What is amazing is the difference with the finished version. This song is for me the summit of Exile. Everything is top on the electric version: Mick incredible vocals, Keith guitars, the bass, the horns and Charlie fantastic drums. They never could nail it as well live...
Yeah me too. Been a fan since 1967 and I find the more relaxed and improvisationaly they play. The better they sound. They sound great polished ( Time waits for no on / can’t you hear me knocking) but there loose and gritty and dirty stuff now that’s the shit ( as Kieth would say. ) lol.

And I’m so thankful for that. Because if it were only up to those greedy record companies most of these gems would never have seen the light of day.
