What a lovely lady. Such a shame she passed away the year after this interview, and at only 71 too. I love the Carry Ons and it's always nice seeing Joan pop up in other comedy films of the 50s and 60s as well.
Great to see an interview with the legend that is Joan Sims. I am a big 'Carry On' fan and enjoyed her role in ' Only Fools and Horses, the Frogs Legacy.'
This lovely interview must be amongst the last public appearances that Joan Sims made. She was taken ill in November 2000 and died in June of the following year.
An absolutely brilliant character actress and a lovely lady. So tragic she died at only 71. She was my favourite of the carry on team, and would’ve made a terrific serious actress if she had only been given the chance. R.I.P wonderful lady. Xx
@@matimus100 for some years brother...she now resides in the halls of valhalla..I've heard wardruna are writing a song for her along with heilung...HAIL to the old ways.
Joan sims seemed such a lovely lady, the type of person you could talk to all day. She never did marry in real life. All the wonderful characters she played. All of the carry on team seemed great people. Wish this interview had been longer.
Watch the three hander between Joan, Kenneth Williams and Peter Butterworth in Carry On Don't Loose Your Head. It's a masterclass in comedy without a live audience.
A tour de force when the camera rolled, her comedic timing was impeccable, it's a shame there isn't a good long deepdive conversation with her somewhere and not just these short features where she doesn't ever get the time to truly relax and reflect
What a lovely woman and what lovely memories of Kenny Williams. My childhood heroes.
Nonsense all was spreading fear about sex to the masses

always loved the late Joan Sims, she always reminded me of my elder sister.
One of the greats of British comedy. Much missed
This must have been one of her final interviews

So sad that she died only a year after this.
All the Original Carry On Team & their films are sorly missed they don't make these type of comedies any more classic british comedy at its finest.
There's a reason those movies aren't made today 😂

2 mins in the family photo is blurred so we can't see. Copyright problem? If you slow the speed down you can see the image for a fraction of a second.
I read her book at the time and it was a great read. Only loved her more after reading about her life
Was also on this morning about same time
❤
Why are all the pictures with other actors screened out? I wonder why this has been done?
The clip goes blurry at around 2.06 and around 3.00 and at 3.46.
Why were the photos blurred?
Okay why is the pictures being blocked or fuzzy

what could possibly be blurred? explain yourself immediately

This can't be too long before she died can it? 2001 when she passed away.
Why are all the photos all blurred?...were they convicted criminals?.
Copyright I assume.
Best actresses of comedy and a few others Barbara windsor best saucy but classy
Love Joan Sims but had to google Tyrone Power. Not sure what that says about me and/or my film viewing habits.
Laindon girl
Haha Hugely Vague Career? Gloria Was Savage. Lol.
Hugely "varied"
she was talented unlike Barbara windsor
Clearly a bit on the drunk side
