Conductor Raymond 'Artie' Shaw. The late Raymond "Artie" Shaw was the first musician to conduct Desperadoes Steel Orchestra at their 1972 performance for Queen Elizabeth at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The gift of the Steelpan was sent by God to Trinidad and Tobago and placed wisely into the hands of pure passionate humble geniuses .None so more gifted than Rudolph Charles, Clive Bradley and Artie Shaw. These men were musicians of the highest caliber, men with extraordinary creative power. This album is evidence of their Genius. Thank you for posting.
The late, great Pat Bishop arranged, drilled and conducted Despers' classical work. Her tireless genius was a major influence in all Trinidadian arts.
I am inspired to hear such marvelous music. One Love
Thank you for sharing this. This album was the soundtrack of my childhood in inner city Birmingham UK. Always makes me think of my dad 🇹🇹❤️
Thanks for posting this rendition, and others like, it is an extraordinary experience listening to the great musicians performing these great pieces without the Panmen/Musicians reading from music sheets. I am proud to be a Trini., who also played, LOVE THIS GOOD MUSIC.
Formidable interprétation. Bravo les trinidadiens
I would like to inform the listeners this album was years before pat bishop this is.Artie Shaw work

Many thanks for sharing this performance, a remarkable recording given the difficulties of recording even then, some really good detail.
thanks for posting:)
Thank you for uploading this wonderful piece of music. These pieces should be remembered, and I can't find them anywhere else on the internet. However, my copy says this is side 2 and your other vid is side 1. What's up with that?
This is pan at its finest!
I wonder why today's arrangers stay away from classical music like the plague?
I do agree with you
INTIMIDATED, don't understand and the wise and talented have grown tired and left us alone
