Not sure if I'm just imagining things but doesn't it seem like the CS pros today rarely run strats on T side? They almost always spread out and work picks individually (often 1vs1) and only worry about which site to work towards depending on where they got picks (or where they got picked). Back in 1.6, the pros seemed to play T side in a more organized/cohesive manner and would flawlessly run various well-practiced methods of taking a site (flashing/smoking perfectly in tandem and knowing exactly which area of the site each individual would take/defend). They'd take advantage of the fact that Ts running organized strats would outnumber the CTs at the site since the CTs obviously have to play apart from each other b/c they have two sites to defend. It's seems now that there's a very flexible run and gun approach where individual talent trumps all. That's probably why there are so often roster changes by the top teams now compared to back in 1.6 where the same ppl would play together for years. The top teams now will quickly drop a player if he's recently been out of form and bring in whoever is in best form since teamwork/familiarity doesn't seem to matter as much. Call me an rambling old coot but I prefer the older game-play that prioritized taking a site as a team, planting, and then defending the site over today's aggressive and sometimes sloppy run and gun style.
Is it just me who feel like it would be really disgusting to "high five" all the fans hands when they enter the stage? Filthy nerd hands haha, God knows where they have been D:
