Nice video, Dr Dheeraj and Dr Girijapati.. this will be precious information and guidance especially for the young anaesthesia PGs who are contemplating a career in ICU..
Its 2024 now sir!! Separate exam for dm/drnb critical care is now, Sir please make a new video for how to deal with that?? Post Anesthesia change to crtitcal care in current scenario. Please include best hospital one can do drnb/dm critical care now! Where icu physicians take most of the decisions
Sir ,I am a subscriber of ur channel .Ur content is very good.Pls make an exclusive video on opportunities abroad for Anaesthetist.Pls include different pathways to join US,UK, Australia,Canada and Middle East in detail .
Dear Dr Dheeraj & Dr Geerija nice discussion vedio helping students to have better understanding regarding Critical care Medicine, because we are have 2 DM CCM seats @ NRI Medical College, Guntur in Andhrapradesh, one of the student who is going to join in CCM was initially in confusion, later on taken decision after going through your vedio, Really happy to know that, keep going...
Thank you sir, it's a privilege to work under you. I learnt how to be committed in patient care from you. I feel happy to know it helped your student in taking decision.
Nice video sir. Kindly make a video about pain management as a carrier option after anesthesia and what are the various ways to practice as a pain management physician in big metro cities.
Sir please make a video with a Mch Urologist. Urology as a career ( Mch Urology, after MS general surgery) 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Sir Love from Kolkata, West Bengal 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hello Dr Dheeraj! Can you please make a video or tell about the pathway to critical care to Australia after md anaesthesia? Also is EDIC recognised in Australia?
Sir in our country which system is predominant in corporate hospitals... Open ICU or Closed ICU? Asking it because if its open ICU like in many hospitals in North India, an intensivist hardly has any say in managing patients.. Most of the real work is done by the admitting specialist... So in a way, intensivist becomes more dependent on other specialists as compared to an anesthesiologist.. Can you please clarify on this.. Thanks
Most of the icus on big corporates are closed but the admitting consultant will do rounds and update the PT relatives based on the inputs from the intensivists. Small hospitals run as open icus since they don't have a Dedicated intensivists.
Depends on hospital brand. If the hospital is capable of getting patients on its own they it's closed ICU. If the patient comes to the hospital because of Dr. Name then it will be Open ICU. In most of the Hospital patient comes by doctors name. So, most of the ICUs in India will be Open.
Sir after dm ccm or idccm will we be treating the patients and prescribing drugs? Or will we be there just to intubate? I saw one comment that said so and that got me worried. Please rectify my doubt sir
hi doctor i really want to know from you that as number of medical colleges are increasing hence mbbs graduates too exponentially so will there be unemployment scene like we see today in enginerring field in coming years and population of india will soon become stagnant too im really worried whether i should pursue medicine or not
That's why you have to be all rounder. CCM is best option as we can look after medicine+ surgery ICU. We can practice Anesthesia for simple low risk cases. NBE already introduced DA at small places along DNB so it's difficult time ahead unless we get super specialist or all rounder.
Every residency is hectic , once you get oriented in initial 2-3 months you will start enjoying it , do not think about terms like "hectic" and "toxic" , you will get many people who only talk negative about things ! All the best
Sir I got critical care medicine in Dinnanath Mangeshkar hospital Pune . This year lots of CCM seats remain vacant as CCM now medicine subject. Despite lowering percentile to 20 50-60 percent seats remain vacant. Anesthesia pgs now preferring SS in Anesthesia than CCM as future of CCM for Anesthesia is sceptical. Hospitals in India are not still ready to accept Anesthesia DNB CCM as consultant as DNB/ MD internal medicine.
You need to read medicine from pg time and become strong in subject, I am seeing those who are successful intensivists with anesthesia background are very good in medical knowledge
Sir.. i always wanted to do general practice (for the service of mankind), so is it possible to have private practice after critical care? Will we have good exposure to medicine during the course?
There is new change in NEET SS Information broucher that MD Anesthesia is not included in critical care medicine group.. instead they added new DM Organ Transplant Anesthesia and Critical care. What it exactly means sir ? Is it mean that MD anesthesia can not opt for DM Critical Care Medicine??
We have differentiate critical care & critical care medicine(CCM) . Two are different. MD / DNB Anesthesia r eligible for CCM. But CCM comes under medicine group for NEET SS exam @ new pattern. But paper is not too difficult. But other Critical Care is associated with Neuro Anesthesia or transplant Anesthesia or cardiac or Onco. It's concerned with post operative management. CCM is pure Medicine branch but DNB syllabus includes Post operative monitoring & care as well.
@@DheerajMasapu yes sir plz tell, if anybody just want to practice after MD/DNB anaesthesia and its only anaesthesiology, no other critical care or something else then how much can earn and how much is capping??
It's Difficult or impossible to enter corporate hospital without fellowship or super specialisation after PG in Anesthesia. Unless you are practicing in periphery tier 3 city or got permanent govt job it's foolish to presume. It's Difficult also study later. Look at SS Anesthesia results hardly any seats remain vacant

Do critical care people attend OPD?
Sir is it a good idea to practice critical care in a big hospital during the day and opening a small family clinic for the evening?
It is a good idea. But, better will be to open your own critical care set up.
Sir after dm ccm or idccm will we be treating the patients and prescribing drugs? Or will we be there just to intubate?
I saw one comment that said so and that got me worried. Please rectify my doubt sir
Intensivist will treat pts in closed icus and most of the icus are closed ones
But, Intubation is life saving thing. No need to worry even if it's Open ICU.
Sir, with FNB trauma anesthesia and critical care, can we get work in ICU?
You can add EDIC to it and then work. Only with trauma Anesthesia it's tough

Deenanath is the best hospital in Pune. You are at the right place.
Which is the better place for critical care, CMC Vellore or Apollo Chennai
Both are brands , choose any of them. I suggest cmc
Sir.. i always wanted to do general practice (for the service of mankind), so is it possible to have private practice after critical care? Will we have good exposure to medicine during the course?
You will be busy with icu, you might not have time for OPD . You can manage to see the pts discharged from your icu
With idccm can we continue with Anestehsiology practice?
If you have MD anesthesiology you can practice anesthesia life long.
