We love this kid in Baltimore. It's just a treat to watch him play third base. You haven't lived until you seen Manny make a play in-person like this.
Well I'm actually a Dodgers fan but he is my favorite player so ya it is a treat to c him play 3B And his hitting is great too

I grew up in Baltimore learning SS and 3rd base. Cal was friggin awesome but these are some of the greatest baseball moments I've ever seen (how did he do it?)... brings back memories and, as a lifelong O's fan, Manny will be missed!!

I’m trynna get in a league I’m 13 I play 3B 1B and I can pitch but I’m over weight so my speed isn’t all there but my arm is great and my accuracy is pretty good and I think some day I’ll be able to be making plays like manny 🙂

I have watched baseball for 45 years, Brooks, Nettles, Mike Schmidt, Boggs, Chipper and Cabrera.....This young man is without a doubt the greatest 3rd baseman of this generation...quite possibly of all time...if he can remain healthy.

its unreal the amount of people saying that manny needs to get his throws up. I saw two throws out of 30 that were tough in-between hops for the first baseman. The rest were long hops and short hops that competent first baseman are expected to make in the MLB. Chris Davis is a good first baseman but Mark Reynolds is NOT and manny only had 5 errors the year reynolds was first base. please stop telling the best defensive 3rd in the game how to play defense

Those One Handed grabs are insane. The ones from the 2:10 - 2:30 mark are unreal.Reynolds and Davis did have to dig a lot of throws out of the dirt, though. He's like nothing I've seen in a very long time, if ever. Plus, he can rake at the plate. Glad he's on my favorite team.

Watch the video. Most of it is in the dirt. If his 1B wasn't as sure-handed as Davis or Reynolds he would have more throwing errors. His range is insane though

man I went to the game when nick markakis came back and watching many alone is worth the price of admission
His throws are fine. The angles that he is throwing the ball from are almost impossible and he is still able to gun it across the diamond in time. Throwing exactly as he should; low and on line to give the first baseman a chance to make the play.

dasparks2004 David Wright had the same problem. It was an adventure everytime he threw the ball to first base whether or not he'd hit the target.

I can never find any scooping highlights on TH-cam. Maybe they are just underrated
Playing first base; you should be able to scoop a one bouncer as good as you can catch a ball on the fly. All of the plays you see are hard to make running laterally or towards the plate by Manny and he guns out quick runners (Trout twice in All-Star Game). Living in Baltimore, I've seen Manny catch a routine grounder take his time and fire a rock chest high steps before the runner hits the bag. It's all about how quick you need to get the ball across the diamond and Manny does it better than anyone. (Not to mention he played SS until he was called up to the Majors so his muscle memory is used to a shorter distance.)

Anyone talking about his throws being bad clearly doesn't understand baseball as well as they think they do. I play first base and most of those scoops were very routine. About 3 or 4 were harder plays for the first basemen but Chris Davis is a great fielder so it didn't matter. Stop trying to downplay Manny like he isn't the best third basemen in the MLB right now.
