Death by rock n'roll is the name The Pretty Reckless gave to their last tour, and it was this title that inspired me to choose our band name mixed with the name of the original band. I don't know if you know this, but The Pretty Reckless means "the pretty reckless", and I wanted to create a play on words with that, hence Reckless and Roll.
The song also has, in part, a tragic story behind it: it was written following the loss of Taylor's producer and best friend. But it's also thanks to this song that the band was able to stay together and rise like a phoenix from the ashes. Because instead of splitting up, Taylor took all his emotions and wrote Death by rock'n'roll.

Death by rock n’roll est le nom que The Pretty Reckless a donné à leur dernière tournée, c’est d’ailleurs ce titre qui m’a inspirée dans le choix de notre nom de groupe mixé avec le nom du groupe originel. Je ne sais pas si vous le savez mais The Pretty Reckless signifie «la jolie téméraire » et j’ai voulu créer un jeu de mot avec ça, d’où Reckless and Roll.
Ce morceau a aussi en réalité, en partie, une histoire tragique, il a été écrit à la suite de la perte du producteur et meilleur ami de Taylor. Mais c’est aussi grâce à ce morceau que le groupe a été maintenu et qu’il a pu se relever tel un phoenix sortant de ses cendres. Car au lieu de splitter le groupe Taylor a pris toutes ses émotions et a écrit Death by rock n’roll.
