- Quick review of the Aquaracer just to show off the incredible build quality. This watch is very hard to fault. I can only assume the haters have never actually owned or even held a Tag Heuer piece. It's marvellous!
I got one today as a gift for graduating medical school and passing the medicine boards. It’s a beautiful watch that I hope will be with me for decades to come.

Bugatti Veyron - Yes, you made a good point - it's true that you can find this movement in cheaper watches. However, Tag Heuer do modify and improve the movement. Also Tags are far superior than the $500 watches in every other way. You will find the fit and finish is far better, the build quality, reliability and overall look and feel will beat any $500 watch. It is not just about the movement. 👍

@@kingadjust5422 I think they just tweak it a bit to make it even more accurate and then they decorate the movement.
I bought the same model in 2016. It was sent to repair after 3 months of use, something to do with the winding, seems to be broken or something. From 2016 to current, it had been sent for repairs a total of 5 times. Last year, in May, I had to spent about $200 to get the whole movement replaced. Almost before 1 year is up for the repair warranty, the winding stopped working again, got it replaced for free again. Now I have 3 Tag Heuer soft cases, lol.
I still love the watch. The blue dial and the yellow accents was what caught my attention and my wife bought it for me on the spot. Till this day, it is still gorgeous.

Amazing watch! I know they are very accurate wish Tag got them Chronometer certified. This watch got me into luxury watches 40.5 model caliber 5 still wear it regular. A Superocean Heritage 2 and Sub Ceramic 40 later and I still recommend this watch to anyone looking to start into Swiss luxury at entry point it’s amazing! Great brand a lot of history. People love to hate on LVMH watches but I think Tag is phenomenal

I have a 2021 and it’s a great watch - always looks good and is usually on time. Only negative is it’s a bit big (only me anyways)

I recetly bought one, i love Tag and ive alwaysed wanted to have one, i also have few other watches like Zenth chrono, Tudor BB58 and Rolex Dat just. when i wear the Tag i can feel it in my armwrist all the time, its unique watch and now its my daily watch, i wear it when i go to work or hang out with my friends.
And i have to agree the qulaity of the watch is top notch, you can feel it when you have it on your arm and when you change the time or date you can feel its best of the best.

I bought a WAY2112 at xmas 2016 but after 11 months it developed winding problems after only light use.
It was fixed under warranty without quibble but i wasn't told what the problem had been.
Now I'm having similar trouble with the watch so looking to get it sorted.
It feels like a gear has stripped or the teeth have bent.
It's rotated with other watches so doesn't get a massive amount of use.
Even though I've had trouble with it I do love the watch.
The blue dial is beautiful especially with the sun on it.
The bracelet is top class and comfortable and the bezel clicks round smoothly.
The lume is also top class if I needed it.

Yes, like you, I still love the watch. The blue dial and the yellow accents was what caught my attention and my wife bought it for me on the spot. Till this day, it is still gorgeous.
I know this is an old comment, but this issue is something encountered on many ETA 2824 / Selitta SW-200 watches. One of the winding gears is made of what can only be described as metallic cheese and the gear teeth shear with manual winding. It's not a solution, but ive always given my watches a quick couple of turns to get the balance moving and then let the rotor and my arm do the rest of the work and i've not run into the teeth shearing issue yet.
Ive been saving up for a while for a nice watch I think I've found my first really nice watch

Sharp looking Tag. The Aquaracer line is a winner. I do wonder what that bezel will look like in a year or two of wear. I don’t think putting polished metal on a bezel is wise.

I have an older Aquaracer with stainless steel bezel as well as a Breitling Colt which also has a stainless steel bezel. The SS bezel will still look good especially since it is mostly brushed. The shiny part will take scratches but only similar to bezel-less sports watch which also has SS "bezel". Basically it will look just like the rest of your watch case which is made of SS anyways. You can actually polish the shiny parts of the bezel using cape cod polisher. How well the bezel looks really depends on how well you take care of your watch. An aluminum bezel will easily scratch and is an inferior material (IMO) compared to the stainless steel. The Ceramic is better but if you are careless it will still chip off just like the sapphire. At the end of the day, it still depends on how well you take care of your watch.
Has a Rolex Yachtmasteresque bracelet but at a reasonable price point. Tag Heuer has been largely revived as a luxury brand in last 5 years. Doesn't rely on Moon watches and James Bond.

most buyers hate TagHeuer is of their off the shelf dishonesty about their watch movement, it is not that you have established a name but on how you value the time with dignity.
I have nothing against the brand TagHeuer craftsmanship, design have a face value indeed though may be overpriced that well said because of the ebauche used with a well detailed watch case.
for the past decades only few can be trusted in the watchmaking industry because of their own in-house movement
technical capabilities in development and innovation rarely is not outsourcing
There are very few watch brands that have in an in house movement for under £3,000 - it's not just TAG Heuer. Personally, I think they are priced very fairly when compared with the competition and the fit and finish is better than most. However, I do understand the point you make about their misleading claims - it's deceitful and unnecessary.
I bought one a year ago. Lovely watch and great feel to it, but I do find it wears heavy and, unless its worn tight, the watch slips down and the crown digs into the back of my hand if i wear on the left wrist. Date magnifier is unnecessary and makes the face look a bit busy. Ridged dial is another unnecessary addition. But, all that said, still a lovely watch.

Got mine around 2019, the winding ive found isnt the best but its a lovely looking watch. I dont have a problem with Tag watch snobs will be watch snobs though

I'm torn between this and the Hydroconquest
That's a tough choice!
You need to note that the Hydroconquest has a very shiny bracelet. If that's not your style, go for the Aquaracer.
Great review. I am trying to decide between this model or the 41mm version of the same, blue dial SS bezel.
My wrist is 7.25 inches. So I am right in between the 2 sizes. The 43 would look more hefty and grab more attention, however I googled that the weight of the 43 is 212 grams, and the 41 is 154 grams. That's a huge difference. I own a 43 mm Victorinox Maverick green chrono, which weighs 208 grams, and although it's not a deal breaker for me I would still prefer something under 180. When it's above 200 grams you constantly feel the watch on your wrist with any movement you make or stretch. That's why I am conflicted. The 41 seems just a tad small in pictures though.
What do you guys think?
I guess I should go to a AD and see if they still have 41s in stock to try on
Hi - I recommend the 41mm. I used to have the 41mm version with the blue ceramic bezel and I much preferred the size. It doesn't look small and is far more comfortable - the smaller size just looks more classy in my opinion.
@@wristwatchdave422 thanks Dave. I was first leaning towards the 41, just from photos and forums, and then someone mentioned it's smaller than it looks in wrist shots on Google. So I started being conflicted again.
How did you like the 41 blue ceramic bezel (way211c) vs the blue dial SS bezel yellow arrow looks wise?
I was originally interested in the way211c, but seeing it in photos and videos, it looks like under bright light the bezel would turn a lighter blue than the dial (which is I didn't particularly like, it looked like a very light blue). So it felt a little incongruent with the dial under certain light. Also the orange arrow, although nice, still think I prefer the yellow one. How about you?
Both really nice designs and ideally I'd wear both, but if you had to pick one favorite would it be the way211c or the blue SS bezel?
Also what are your views on the black dial, ceramic bezel? Way211a. Also one of my top picks. But the blue is more colourful. Was also admiring the emerald green, SS bezel. But that only comes in 43 and that green is very bright under certain lighting

@@ilyaslobodkin3811 It is very easy to become conflicted with all the amazing choices for this incredible Tag. I do like green watches but I do not think it suits this particular watch so I would avoid that. My personal recommendation is to go for the blue dial with ceramic bezel. I regret selling mine and as much as I do really enjoy the steel bezel version, it's not quite as classy as the ceramic version. The black is nice but a bit too plain.

This very exact same watch is what I have. This is my very first luxury watch and I’ve bought many more since. The finish and build quality is amazing. I highly recommend the Barton blue Silicone from Amazon to alternate with the bracelet cause it does get heavy at times. Other than that this watch is still one of my favs.

Hi there I bought a new one please Somebody could tell me if you take care of your watch how often you do services? I've read that a Full service is needed every 5 years and cost 500 dollars almost. I would be happy to hear from you. Thanks
Hi - the movement in these watches is so reliable that you probably don't need a full service every 5 years if the watch is looked after well.

With calipers the exact measurements of this case without the humps on each side is 44.5mm. The bezel measures at 43mm but that’s not how you measure a case. Not really getting what Tag is doing with these case sizes.

@@meow1990_2 Ha, I know what you mean. It's hard to bring yourself to wear it in the water - it's an expensive and beautiful watch but it can definitely handle it. Also, don't let the cyclops magnifier put you off. I've always quite liked that feature in a watch but you can quite easily remove it if you really don't like it.

I have the 41mm, and on that the text "300m/1000ft" is white - on Dave's you can see that it is yellow - which seems to be the visual difference between the two sizes.

@@kingadjust5422 Hi - the movement is very good. It is TAG Heuer's own Caliber 5, a modified automatic movement based on the ETA 2824-2. The ETA is a perfectly good and reliable movement as found in many other watches in the same price band. It is also found in cheaper watches under a $1,000 but the overall fit and finish of the Tag is of a very high quality and is slightly better than the Longines in my opinion. Got to say, I've had an Aquaracer and loved it, until it was stolen. Replaced with a much more expensive Carrera Calibre 1887. That watch is the most unreliable I have ever owned. Poor timekeeping from day one and has been back multiple times to Tag whilst it was still under warranty. Its away again, as we speak, so lets see what happens this time, another £500 plus later. So, not everyone whos a hater has never held a Tag in their hands. It's certainly put me off of the brand.

@@wristwatchdave422 Yes, its a shame, because I love some of their designs, but my next watch will probably be an Omega, or perhaps a Rolex if I can stretch to it. Their warranties are also longer than Tag.
